It was a good day, at least it was by Lauren's standards. Slightly overcast, the fog rolled lazily around the open desert as the sparse rain found itself drifting slowly down to be soaked by the sand. Lauren found herself staring out her cockpit, leg crossed and head propped up by an open hand, elbow resting on the arm rest of her chair. She was now calm, strange for this hot headed girl as she waited for something, anything to happen. Having had that rather crushing defeat against Kai and his Geno Breaker Jet, Hawk was feeling a tad bit frustrated about how useless he was against him. As a result, he was out flying about as usual to try and help calm himself down. At least there was decent weather about. Ideal for travelling in the sky at least. Soon, the Redler made a low metallic growl as its senses picked up on a nearby zoid. Looking about, Marendithas eventually saw the black dot against the desert ground. From it's appearance, it seemed to be a hybrid of some sort. "You wanna try taking them on, Redler?"Another growl, followed by a slight dip over in the black zoid's direction. That was an affirmative. Grinning, he eased the controls to approach the other zoid before sending out a message to the pilot. "Marendithas Hawklight here. Are you up for a little fight? Battlemode 0992 of course."Zoid info Redler

Hearing the beeping, Lauren opened her COM link to hear the sandy blonde’s voice. Not knowing where he was coming from, the girl nodded, "Lauren, and I accept." Hey she had time to kill. The BP let out a sharp snarl as it quickly snapped it's head in the direction of the Readler.
"Oh ******** off, the cat-thing tore across the desert, looking for anything it could use to get airborne. Nearing a particularly tall dune, the BP lowered it's back, giving it more of a streamline figure as it snapped it's blades out, then forward before it took it's leap of faith, shooting itself into the air.

Now Hawk really wasn't expecting to receive a melee attack from the ground like that. And as a result, he didn't really have much time to react with his shock and took the hit fairly hard.
If he had to guess, that blow most likely took out a chunk of the flyer's armor.
Gritting his teeth as the redler restabilized in the air, he turned it about and aimed down at the hybrid zoid, firing out several rounds from its laser machine gun.

The BP's hellish scream sounded once again as it's back was hailed with lasers. Gritting her teeth, Lauren drove her baby out of the line of fire as she made another round to that magical dune once again. Pushing her top speeds, she took her jump from the ground, claws and teeth bared as she made an attempt to bring the silver bird down with her this time.

"Gah!"
As he approached while trying to gun down the BP, Hawk attempted to pull back as his opponent retaliated. Unfortunately for him, he was a little too late with this move. The hardened claws and fangs of the hybrid dug through more of the redler's armor, and bringing it lower to the ground in the process.
Geh.. I can't take another hit like that.
Shaking his head, he managed to pull away from the cat-like zoid before firing a few more lasers at it.

Once the BP fell, Lauren popped open the hood to the cockpit, emerging in a storm of curses and nonsense about how she better get a gun for her baby soon or she'll shave her team mates bald. Calming down after a bit, she lit herself one of her last cigarettes, deeply inhaling before letting it all out quickly in one breath. Looking to the sky, she shielded her eyes from the non-existent sun before congratulating the other pilot. "Good job. Mind flagging someone down for me?"

"Great job buddy, we got them."
Flying a little lower to the ground near the fallen zoid, Hawk glanced over at the damages of the opposing zoid before giving a slight nod.
"Yeah sure, no problem. Good job by the way. Ya almost had me there."
Grinning slightly, he lingered in the area a little longer, then headed off to the nearest town to send someone out to retrieve the Blade Panther. Considering how much damage the redler took, he was going to need some repairs for it soon as well. But getting Lauren's zoid some help came first.
Sometime later, he came back out to where he had left the pilot. Traveling below and a little behind him was a slow-moving Gustav. Hawk wanted to make sure it got to the right place, so he had decided to lead it out here.
