...Syd had stayed in Pink Floyd and David was never a part of it?

I'm just interested to see what people's opinions are biggrin

They would have died out much sooner, rather than progressing their style as they have.

Yeah unfortunately I have to aggree with her. Syd was a genius, but as we all well no, not entirely stable, and thus the Floyd would probably have died out with weird music that would progressively get weirder, with no chance for Dark Side or The Wall, or Wish You were Here (definetly not that one) to be released. Haha, just a thought!

I absolutly agree. Everybody loves Syd but David took the band where Syd never would.

Syd was a booster and he pushed them up. But he would have only been able to push so far. His style is slightly different too. More of the phycadelic (or however you spell that) flow...the rainbow and unicorns and daisy chains that pop into your head when you listen to the older stuff Syd wrote. Syd also (no offense to him) couldn't play guitar as well as David. David gave it some sugar spice and everything nice that allowed them to become the super stars they are..

They just wouldn't have the Pink Floyd sound we think of if David hadn't stepped in.

I think they would have been a little more like the beatles. If they made it that is and syd never went crazy.

Well, the song that really got me into Floyd, was "Run Like Hell". With out David, the song never would have come to fruition, or for that matter, the album and others. Pink Floyd got me into the progressive rock style, and without that, I would probably like (c)rap like the rest of my family...
