Setting: Pre-island, a book signing in the Times Square Barnes and Noble, New York City to promote Alan Murrow's book, Twelve Myths That Are Destroying America.
Alan (will switch to mule):
Well, that seemed to be the last of them, at least for a while, Alan Murrow thought, catching a glance at the now empty line of people. Two hours ago, when he had started signing copies of his latest book, the line had streched out of the political books section and out the doors of the Barnes and Noble into Times Square. For now, it looked like he got a break...if only for a few minutes, until the next happy Murrowite came in.
He stood up and flexed his wrist.

Colette's eyes narrowed as she looked up at Alan over her book that she was 'looking' at a few rows down. 'Stupid American' she thought crossly. 'Why in the hell did I agree to this job?.. God.. I just wanna push this guy off of a cliff.. I know it' Colette sighed and then pushed her glasses back up her nose.

After some brief yet embarassing streches, Alan sat down once again in the chair, letting his right hand fall limp on the table in front of him. Signing books is hard work.
He grabbed the name-brand bottle of water that was provided for him, took a swig, and the peered out into the store. Still no one in line...Alan was grateful for that. He closed his eyes, hoping to rest them before they started letting people in again.

She set the book down on a shelve and then began to move to a closer row to him. Colette frowned as she saw that he was somewhat tired. She sighed and then shook her head as she tilted her hat over her face a bit so it blocked her eyes from his sight. Colette hadn't read his book, but she knew that she would just get far to mad at him and then throw the book out of the window.

Alan opened his eyes and rubbed his forehead. That damn migrane...he looked out patiently. There was still no one there.
Slowly, as if he were making sure that no one was watching, he put his head in his hands, hoping to take a short nap.

A small, yet wicked smile formed on her face at the fact that he had yet to see her. Colette walked to the next row, now in plain sight, as she began to look over the books on the shelves. She yawned and shook her head as she glanced over at him.

Alan was quickly drifting into dreamland. Even though Fox gave him a week off to promote his book, he felt like he was busier than when he actually did the show. This was the second signing he had that day...and he was due for an overnight bus trip down to Washington.
The hands that held up the pundit's head of perfectly combed hair slowly spread apart on the slick table. Eventually, physics won the battle--Alan's head fell to the table with an audible SMACK.
He opened his eyes instantly, holding his head in pain and closing his eyes. It was only when he opened them that he saw the young woman looking over at him.
"Oh, I'm sorry," he said, taking the cool water bottle and holding it against his head. "Who would you like me to make this out to?"

"Who said I was here for your book?" Colette repiled as her accent was slightly heard; a small frown on her face as she began to flip through the Kenshin manga that she had picked up earlier. She yawned and then rolled her shoulders as she shut the book and knew that she was going to have to snap back at his reply.

Alan instantly caught the accent--French. He grimaced.
"Then what are you doing here, miss?" He said with a tinge of hate in his voice. "I thought they closed this section off..." He eyed the woman suspiciously. "...for the book signing." Alan's voice trailed off.

She sighed and then put her book away in a deep pocket in her coat. "Shows just how much you know," Colette repiled, a very small smirk on her face at this. "..And it's a store, isn't it?..Are you saying that I can shop?"

This strange woman was really rubbing Alan the wrong way. His eyes narrowed. "Look, miss, I don't know who you are, but this section is reserved until at least 3 o clock." He grabbed a picture off of his stack. "Now, if you want a signed picture, please get in line and perhaps I'll get you one."

Colette almost laughed at his words and then sighed as she shook her head. She looked over her glasses at him. "Oh yeah... I so want a photo of you," Colette repiled, finding that messing with him quite fun. She pushed the brim of her hat up at bit with the thumb of her right hand so that her face were visible to him now.

That was the last straw; she had pushed Alan to the brink, and there was no returning from it until someone was removed. He looked at her, the color in his face rouging.
"Well," he began, "then you should leave." He turned towards the area where the line was. "JACOB!" he screamed, calling his assistant. "SECURITY!" Alan turned back to bespeckled girl, his face still red and a small smile forming on his face.

Colette had been statrled at his yelling and then sighed when the assistant came rushing over. "..Figures.. You get mad at someone and you need another person to take care of it," she said and shook her head again. "I didn't think that you were that helpless.."

Alan tried to seem like he ignored her remark, but his face reddened anyway. He turned towards his small, weak assistant.
"Jacob, please get security to take this woman out of the store." He turned to look at the woman. "She needs to learn some respect." He smiled smuggly.
