Cassie has just finished eating her warm oats in her barn where her two legger keeps her soquilis during the winter. She was free to come and go whenever she desires. She tossed her head slightly before walking over to the barn door to look out to the horizon. She smiled as she always did loved snow. She uses her body to fully open the door and began to walk outside. She burred loudly and shivers due to the sudden wind that just blew right by her.
She looks around before saying, "I do hope someone comes out tonight to make friends. I know it is indeed cold but it shouldn't stop anyone from making friends." She nickered lightly while walking to a spot under a tree to keep the harsh wind from blowing on her.

Snow...it had only been around for a few days, but the soothing whiteness of the landscape appeared as natural as though it had always been there. Indeed, Zaphiro had found himself thinking just recently that a land without snow now seemed like a foreign and unnatural occurance. While he was certainly not a wintery Soq by nature, the sapphire stallion had always felt at peace with the winter. It was hard to explain why, exactly; maybe for the simple reason that things were calmer, Soquili more subdued, and that sort of thing.
At any rate, whatever the reason for that like he was out taking advantage of it. Though the last couple days he'd been back at his two-legger's teepee, the old desire to roam had kicked in again and early that morning he had taken off. It was a gorgeous sight, the sunrise on snow, and he'd very much enjoyed watching it.
Now, however, the sun was high and bright, causing both the snow and his coat to sparkle like jewels. He wasn't thinking about that, of course, but it had to be somewhat noticeable; hard to ignore one that looked like him against white snow, after all.

Cassie looked around while struggling to stay warm under the tree, burring slightly. She suddenly perked up at a spot of blue and yellow somewhere in the snow, slowly walking towards it. She nickers and burred softly out at the spot to see what it was. She wasn't sure if it was friend or foe but her curiousity was leading her to it.
She asked herself, "Just what is that in the snow? A scarf? a bunny?.. hmm." She was half hoping it would be a new friend to meet.

Wandering along, lost in his own ponderances as he was, Zaphiro almost missed the nicker of greeting aimed his way. However, his keen ears were as on the ball as ever, snapping him out of his reverie. Narrowing his eyes as he looked off for the source, he was shortly able to see that it was a mare. Well, it wasn't like his thoughts were that important.
Inclining his head politely at the strange mare, he gave her a polite smile of greeting. "Good day to you."

She perked up when she got closer to the blue and yellow spot.. It was a stallion. She smiled in greeting before gently replying with another greeting of her own. "Good day to you.. It is such a gorgeous day out today. This is my first winter since I was born this spring." She burred softly while looking at him with a smile. "My name is Cassandra but you may call me Cassie like most of my friends do"
Turning her gaze towards the horizon, she tosses her head gently before saying, "Snow is such a beautiful element.. Winter makes everything so calm and subdued.. Don't you think, sir?"

Well, regardless of anything else this mare was neither shy nor subdued! Raising a brow in both amusement and curiousity, Zaphiro stood quietly as she spoke, waiting until she broke off before stepping in to introduce himself. "Indeed, snow has always had a remarkably peaceful influence on the landscape, or so I've always believed. It's nice to meet you, Cassie; my name is Zaphiro."
Looking away from the mare, he glanced around curiously. It seemed awfully early for a mare to be out roaming by herself, particularly given the cold. "What brings you out this early, Cassie?"

Cassie giggles softly before calming herself down to respond to his question. "I usually come out here early in the morning after I eat my breakfast that my two legger always give me at sunrise. I never knew I would find someone out here this early.. It is good to have some company on a snowy day. May I be too forward to ask you of the same question, Zaphiro?"
She had hoped that she wasn't talking too much or even talking too fast for that matter. She continues to watch the horizon as she thought to herself, "He is quite the stallion, so kind. Such a gentlemen at that! I hope we can be friends." She smiled to herself for making such comments about him in her mind.

"Ah, so you live near here, then?" Not too surprising to think, really; he was aware that this area was a popular habitat for the two-leggers; indeed, he'd seen several other teepees than his own around. And logistically, it was rather foolish to think that he was the only Soq out roaming.
"I myself am just passing through the area, and I like the morning. A bit of an early riser, you might say." Looking back at Cassie, he tilted his head thoughtfully. Judging from her words, she seemed to be a more teepee based Soquili, rather like his herdmate Elizabeth.

Cassie nodded her head in reply before looking at him. "Yes, sir. I live in a barn not far from here but I love to roam so much more. I could never be wild like my mama and daddy. They do have pride but I have pride in being a two legger's friend." She then looks towards where her home is at with a smile. "You see, Zaphiro.. I think even two leggers need friends especially at this time of the year. I heard there is a celebration during winter but I do not know what it is yet.. Do you know what it is?" She asked with a soft but gentle questioning look towards him.*

Nodding his head, Zaphiro continued to listen with an expression of mild interest on his face. He himself couldn't imagine the idea of constantly being around a two-legger; fond as he was of his own, he always had a need to go out and wander. It was the same way with his other herdmates, barring Elizabeth...but different things worked out for different Soquili, and this mare seemed quite proud of her existance.
"It's important to live in the way that best suits us, indeed. I'm sure that your two-legger appreciates having you around. But I"m afraid I don't know what you're referring too..." He never really paid much attention to the goings of Cajji, but to his knowledge there wasn't anything going on. Didn't mean he hadn't just missed something, of course.

Cassie looked at him with a curiousity that could only be compared to a cat's curiousity while listening to him. She smiled and nodded softly before saying, "I saw gifts or something being under a wierd greeny tree.. Mama had said that it is customary for two leggers to have a tree this time of the year." She then shakes her head. "I can never understand them but it is interesting to be their friend. I am always learning things about them. But I do go and try to learn what soquilis should know about.. like where's the best apple trees.. or the purest water springs."
She giggled and stops herself before rambling on. "I am so sorry, sir.. I didn't mean to ramble on.. When I talk about new and interesting things about two leggers, I become talkative most of the time.. Oh, forgive me.. I just remembered the best warm springs.. It is near here.. Want to go there to warm up?" She said with a sheepish smile.

...Obviously Zaphiro's two-legger wasn't big on customs, because Zaph KNEW he would have noticed a mysterious tree appearing in the teepee area. Oh well.
Still, he hadn't just taken off from the teepee to ponder two-legger customs. An amused smile played on his lips as he listened to Cassie; she was so enthusiastic, it was almost like talking to a foal! He hadn't really planned on meeting up with anyone, but it wasn't as though he really had any plans. "A warm spring, huh? Well, I suppose I could do with a wander that way. It's been a bit since I've done much exploring around here."

Cassie smiled even bigger and then nods gently. "Alright.. Lets go before the winds pick up again. They'll be hitting us any moment." She then looks around for the closest path to take to go to the spring. "I can tell you more information on two leggers since I learned quite a bit.. Only if you want to know about them, sir." She tosses her head slightly to get her mane out of her eyes that was daring to frustrate her any moment.
She perked up at the sight of her favorite path towards the spring that would take them through the two leggers' village. "Come on! I'll show you the way with my favorite path to the spring. She slowly began to walk towards the path with a smile on her face.

Definitely energetic. Shaking his head in amusement, Zaphiro followed after the mare. "Your offer is most generous, Cassie, but I hope you'll excuse me if I don't take you up on it. After all, I'm not at my two-legger's place for a reason, so I'm sure you can understand the desire to distance one's self from all things two-legger related."
And indeed, that was largely how Zaphiro saw himself; when he wanted to be around his two-legger, he'd go back and be immersed in that environment for a few days, but when he got the urge to wander, it was accompanied by the desire to put space between her world, and the Soquili world.
