Doesnt this just make you mad? Such as at church, so many ignorant christians! It makes me dislike church(and a couple other reasons). Also for example, my mom. I lissen to Disturbed (i also lissen to Lordi, Slip-Knot, Flyleaf, Korn, Weird AL ,AC-DC, and a ton other metal and death metal)...But she is too ignorant to lissent to reason that Disturbed is a christian band, and metal CAN be christian... They just piss me off. Does it to you also???
Black-List: I dont know if its good to make a black-list in a christian guild, but here it is: -Shade-Ninja

Indeed, a lot of Metal Music can be very Christian. Bands like Disciple, Thousand Foot Krutch, and many others make a living off of it. It is decidedly..ignorant? to say that Metal cannot and is not Christian music.
However, a few of the bands you mentioned are decidedly non-Christian. AC-DC is the one that jumps out very quickly, but Korn, and Slipknot also send up alarms. I've never heard of Lordi, Disturbed, or Flyleaf.
Music is very powerful. It's incredibly how powerful it can be. The Beatles moved Generations and swayed opinions with their music. I'd be careful in secular music like that. It can be very influencing. Why not try some Christian Metal(Or even 'White-Metal') bands? Disciple, Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch are all very good. Or if you like Punk, Relient K, Hawk Nelson...hrmm..I'm having trouble with this one.
Also, Depending on the denomination of the church, they may dislike loud music. I play in a Christian Punk band, and i've seen emotions range from churches that dislike how loud and crazy we are, to little old women yelling and screaming in joy as the heavy metal band after us went on and screamed their hearts out.
All i'm saying is, keep your heart guarded from things that might be used to hurt your walk with Christ. Have a nice night.

Now, now. Misunderstanding the purpose of Christian hardrock is a far cry from Westboro.

The G-Bomb Now, now. Misunderstanding the purpose of Christian hardrock is a far cry from Westboro. It's the same in principle. Taking Christ's teachings out of context, or not understanding them is a great sin that causes hardship and division, no matter how large or small the misunderstanding is.

I totally agree...I hate it when Christians do something very un-Christianlike and then unbelievers view that and think, "Gee, I'm glad I don't worship a God that is so prejudice..." I HATE IT!!!!
The thing that unbelievers must see first is that we are all not perfect. Christians aren't going to be perfect just because we believe in Christ. Sometimes I think they think that we think we are always doing the perfect thing in God's eye. That isn't neccessarily true. Yes, we do please God, but yes there are times when we do not! It is because we are sinful and imperfect! But because of that they might think, "If that is what being a Christian is, then forget it. I don't think it is write to boycott walmart for supporting gays, and if God thinks boycotting it is good then why is God so good?" I don't know if that is what they think, but sometimes I feel it is exactly what they think....it saddens me.
So yes, I HATE when some Christians give our faith a bad name...I abhor it, and so does God. We must remember to follow God's Word, not make up what we think might please God; what WILL please God. biggrin
In Christ,
mel

Yep. One of the worst things in the church is the people who make us look like babbling idiots full of blind hatred. Let's pray for them.

I just like it. but my problem is that I cannot find very many heavy metal christian bands... Lordi is definatly christian, I am starting to think Disturbed is not.. and I just go intoduced to flyleaf... I really dislike rap, most punk, and alot of country (most of it)... So i guess i am a metal head. I want to get out of music that sings: "I am not a slave to a god that does not exist" -Merlin Manson To christian music....

Zher Hating i s a sin.... lol, but: "Thou shall not judge" sorry +-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+ Hating other people is a sin, but hating the actions that turn people away from God is not a sin. =] Or in Stone Angel's case, hating the times when people perform those certain actions is not a sin. +-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+

Love your ENEMIES and pray for those that persecute you. Then shall your redemption draw near. It's all about the heart. Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.
