Once upon a time there was a majestic beautiful person loved by EVERYONE and her name was Nymphie ( 4laugh ) Nymphie was a happyhappy person, but then one day the evil witch named MOM said "D< I WILL THROW YOU OUT OF THE HOUSE AND FORCE YOU TO LIVE IN THE STREETS AND STARVE IF YOU DONT GET A JOB AT PAYLESS" So poor wonderful Nymphie got a job at payless.
Now the job was fine. Except when it was time for the bogo sale. But it was still ok! Until one day, when it was not only the bogo sale, but the bogo sale AND christmas season at the same time.
On one of the fateful christmas/bogo days Nymphie went into payless.
When Nymphie went into payless the door kept going ring! ring! ring!
And the customers kept going help! help! help!
And the phone kept going bring! bring! bring!
And the boss kept going clean!help!sell! clean!help!sell!sell!sell!
And the corporate office kept saying be short staffed! its cheap! be short staffed! its cheap!
And the store c.d kept going its the most wondeful time of the year! wonderful time of the year! of the year!
And Nymphie kept going HihowareyouitsbuyonegetonehalfpriceletmeknowifIcanhelpyou! biggrin

And it kept going and going!
sell! sell! clean! help! bring! bring! ring! ring! ring! help! help! sell! hi! how may I help you! bogo! bogo! bogo! ring! bring! short staffed short staffed! most wonderful time of the year! lather rinse repeat!
Until Nymphie's head blew up.
And then she died. Because thats what happens when your head blows up.
So sad.
Anyways the point of the thread - Do you work retail? If you do talk about how WONDERFUL retail is at christmas time. And those wonderful christmas shoppers. And how you say hi how are you! so many times that you say it in your sleep. And fun stuff like that.

Think your "retail"... plus the fact that you get clueless customers who think they know everything.... at least the people going into payless know their shoe size, right? o.O
And yeah, the "clean, help, sell" gets really old, really fast...

AND HOMG GUYS GUESS WHAT! TOMORROW IS MY FIRST SUNDAY OFF IN 6 MONTHS minus when I went on vacation and the two sundays I had my play this summer.
Y'know how payless is stupid and cheap and stuff? And you know how MOST stores hire extra help around christmas and have their regular workers working around the clock?
xd Weeeelll payless decided they wanted to cut down payroll 20% each week. Which means we now have to be short staffed all the time because if too many people work its too expensive. Which -would- be fine. Except, y'know, its christmas season, AND bogo, and its soo crazy we need extra people not less. And at first I was all mad But then I realized it meant I get weekends off...except saturdays...and I got over it XD

And homg, weekends are horrid. SOMANYCUSTOMERS. I used to pray for weekends too come, but since I started working at payless I dont want them to come anymore XD
Lou - D: I cant imagine working with all men. There is only one guy at payless, the manager. And most customers are women. The men are the best customers. They are all not difficult. They get a pair of boring shoes (or two if its bogo) and then leave. The women though, good lord @____@ Too many shoe fetishes.
You should kick everyone who is all "OMG GIRL!" in the balls and then they will never say it again 4laugh You -totally- wouldnt get in trouble for that.
Do you at least get paid well? You have a spiffy title that sounds like you would be xd
EDIT - Sibeiko - when there are smart customers at payless its actually the opposite of where you work. Its the employees that are clueless xd Payless doesnt teach us about merchandise. People will be all "I want a kitten heel with a blah blah insole made of real leather and something that doesnt stain and blahblahblah" and all the employees will be "...what the hell are you talking about? You want a heel? I have a nice green one... O_o;;
And sometimes customers like to trick us. They'll put on two different size shoes and ask us if they look like they fit, and we'll say yes and tehy'll be all "...which one, im wearing two different sizes?" XD I have no clue how to tell if shoes fit.

But then minimum wage here is $7.50ish soo yeah. And I get my raise soon! Because you get a raise after 6months and I reached the 6month mark on the 1st ^-^ Im so excited for it.
