I posted this on the writing forum but thought I'd ask here as well.

I’ve been working on several stories that deal with dreams. One story is comprised of all my nightmares and dreams. Everything I’ve ever dreamt about I’ve filed away until I can figure out what to do with it. I started doing this as a child, writing down all my dreams allowed me to remember them for later. I figured there must be a reason for a lot of my dreams but at the time I could not figure out what to do with them. Over time I studied everything I could about dreams and the existence of other forms of reality. This has lead me to build a rather complex world of dream and reality which uses many forms of travelling to dream worlds that have shown up in either myth or other stories. Over the past ten years I’ve been writing a series about these stories and more.

Now the question I have for you is this. In one of my stories a strange train keeps appearing. I remember noting the significants of this train long ago but I lost my notes. All I can remember is the train showed up when someone desired to escape from their reality for a safer place to hide. I can’t seem to remember what this train was classed or where the idea for this train came from. I’ve done a web search for Dream Trains, but keep getting a novel by Charlotte Vale Allen and strange interpretations of what this train is supposed to mean. Does anyone know of any other reference to this train?

Also I’m trying to find something to do with a dream spider that is supposed to build a bridge that bridges the gap between dreams. Supposably it existed somewhere near the edge of reality, deep inside of a cave and beyond a large stone door. If one were to travel to the depths of this tunnel they would come to a rip in the earth the spreads deeper then the eye can see. Living here is this giant spider who will create the bridge for certain souls to cross the chasm, for the life of me I can not remember the cost or how one convinces this spider to let them pass. I remember that the spider is supposed to be hundreds of feet in size and purple in colour with blue glowing strips along its back and its web glows on the walls of the tunnels. My wife joked about it having a silk tux made by silk worms and that it is very friendly. I just for the life of me can not remember where this tale comes from. Does anyone else know what this creature was called or anything about the myth? It is rather important because this one story has been stalled for almost a year now and I would like to find an ending for it sometime in the future.

Both myself and my wife would be interested to know the history of these tales and where to read more on them. It would be of great help to me and my stories.
