Ok. There's a thread for character flaws, so there should be one for Gundam flaws.

I'll start by pointing out the biggest flaw, which is Transformation.

Gundam Seed Destiny - Impluse Gundam - Shot the Core Splendor while it's lining up to make the gundam. It's as easy as that. I mean during Gundam Seed you see how easy it's to destory fighters. The Core Splendor is a fighter. Does it bother anyone else that noone seems to notice this flaw.

Gundam Wing - Wing and WingZero Gundam - This transformation actually isn't a flaw. The transformation is for speed and distance travel.

What're your thoughts and flaws?

I'll probably post some of my favorite "flaws" later but the flaws are the fun part of Gundam Wing and are some of the reasons its remained my favorite anime and fanfic obsession over the years 3nodding They give the show character mrgreen

Uhhh... Deathscythe Hell Custom's wings don't seem to cover up as much as the original DS Hell's. Zero Custom loses its shield, and a good shield can be very useful. Epyon seems to have literally NO ranged attacks, though the heat rod's reach is pretty long, and it's suitably fast and agile to take full advantage of it.

Personally, I've never really noticed the flaws until now but I think it gives the show a little kick.

Well I do understand you point but the Core Splendor or any varient is a timeless classic in Gundam which makes me wonder why no one has ever shot down those damn things. Anyways the Core Splendor is very usufull if the MS is damaged and needs a replacement part and also to it can make your enemies go WTF? when they attack your MS's torso and you spilt in half just like what happened to Kira.

One of the flaws I noticed is that Heavyarms Custom has NO way of deffending itself when it runs out of bullets. No shield... not even that piddly little knife the original Heavyarms had. That's always REALLY bothered me.

The Gundams should not be able to do as much as they do. I mean, there are only so many controllers. They shouldn't be able to control all the movements the Gundams make, like Heavyarms spinning around at one point and Deathscythe and Altron spinning their weapons.

In the Mobile Suit Gundam, the core fighter was mainly an escape pod, that could defend itself. It okay to have the modulor system, but send the Gundam out put together. They can have the fighter, just don't combine the pieces right after it launches. I loved the episode where the Core Splendor flies throught the tunnel to attack the EAF base, although they couldn't plan any actual attack strategies.
It's cool and only good for replacing pieces, not for storage. What would happen if the launch catapult was destroyed, how would you launch the pieces to make the Gundam?

HoshiNoMiko:
I read somewhere that the Heavyarms defense was Trowa's martial arts abilities. It's a cheap excuse, that doesn't really fly. Nice catch!

Aona:
Unfortunately, with WingZero custom losing it's ability to transform, they decided WingZero didn't need the shield anymore.

Throwing a question out there:
Who thinks it would've been cool to add a funnel system to WingZero Custom, having the feathers act as the bits?

i agree in the cockpit you have only 2 controllers to use (not including all the buttons) to control this gaint machine yet it seems that ingenuity could help with that if you can put good use to all those buttons and screens that is!

I don't understand how Duo can possibly use Deathscythe's beam scythe underwater...:

Hmm. :/ Maybe I'm Gundam-retarded because I haven't seen all the episodes & I have no idea what that is. n_n

Actually, I don't think they're mentioned in the show... or in any AC Gundam at all. It's a sort of melee weapon from UC that can function underwater, and I think some other Gundam series also used it.

Okay, I haven't watched Gundam W forever, but this one thing sticks out. If the space station Libra's main cannon was supposed to wreak havok on Earth, then why did it not destroy the Gundam that leapt into it's beam? Gundanium is strong, but not that strong, yes?
