Okay this idea might be incredibly stupid, I don't care- I just wanna RP again lol and I'm too lazy to catch up with the remaining RPs.

It is well known that the Christmas holiday both requires and generates a vast amount of magical power. The 'Christmas Spirit' however, plays the part of cancelling out the evil spirits in Gaia more than people might realize.

Raw miracles are in greater abundance during Christmas for one thing, and the power of White Magic is also enhanced. Also, little kids feel a special kind of wonder during Christmas that unfortunately decreases with age but it is still necessary at this time to always have symbols of innocence and peace in the world.

It's a bit subtle and not always bright, but Christmas magic allows the year to end in a more or less 'good' way for most people. Even if people had a sucky year, the family togetherness makes it seem like they didn't, or it deluded themselves into thinking that it wasn't all -THAT- bad for them. Yes, Christmas does indeed play a special part of balancing all that is 'Gaia.'

That is, until one year, when the legendary SCARLET decides to have a little fun.

Scarlet: OH DON'T GIVE ME THAT LOOK, BITCHES- YOU KNEW I WAS COMIN!' (cont.d on next post)
PostPosted: Sat Dec 09, 2006 11:44 am

Scarlet ripped at a naked man's back....covers were thrashing...bodies were turning...

As a high-profile woman, Scarlet had no trouble getting laid. These were always emotionless encounters though, but that didn't really matter to her.

There was the suddenly the sound of a cracking neck-snap as soon as the man 'arrived.' What an ironic way to die, Scarlet thought as she got up from a pile of sweaty lust. She threw his dead body off of her like he were a used kneelex and then got up out of bed. In the end, Scarlet would sometimes kill the men she slept with. She had her reasons, and they made perfect sense to her.

"You know...female hyenas will sometimes kill the guy when they mate with them, if they're not aggressive enough. And you sweetie, you just weren't tough enough for me." She laughed and then quickly took a shower before ordering a few of her minions to clean up the mess. As the water sprayed on her petite face, she thought about her plans.

"Ending Christmas won't be easy" Scarlet said to herself. "There are many steps one must take, but first....it starts with making Winter no more. Yes, the season of Winter enables magical energies to be reserved. Thusly, the conservation of magic allows magic to be greater expended. I can't let this happen, you see." She spun around, now in a red business suit. She smoothed out the edges with her scrawny fingers.

"I must steal the Crystal of Winter and banish it to an alternate reality. I do not have the power to destroy the Crystal, but I don't need it. I just need to get my hands on it. Mwa ha ha haha!" Scarlet spat on her minions just for the fun of it and poked them like a schoolyard bully.

"People don't want to admit that the strong always win." Scarlet continued to get ready for the mission.

(at this point I'll let people create characters and such)

-Profiles-

Dana. Age: 27. Birthplace: Rotunda Port (A beach-like village on the coastlines of Gaia) Most moogles actually live in urban-y areas though.

Dana is a tiny and adorable Moogle. She's small in stature, but she's also very powerful. She's also a viscious warrior and frequently wields weapons that are like, four times bigger than she is. Dana is well-known as a 'protector of the weak' or 'helper of the helpless' and is a bit of a hero. She can be haughty and a bit self-righteous, and some of her motives seem very selfish in nature. (she creates a lot of self-fullfilling prophecies in her head.) Of course, her natural personality is going to conflict with that of Scarlet's.

She frequently likes to coo and coddle people she feels the urge to defend. This can seem patronizing to others sometimes, but she WILL defend them greatly. Likewise, she'll treat the 'Scarlets' of the world very harshly and with much-deserved brute force.

Arc - well you all already know Arc!

(these are the two characters I'll be playing)

(Oh and btw, this world isn't really connected to Crystals of Brathmire, think of it is an 'alternate reality' of sorts. When Scarlet banishes the Crystal of Winter to another plane, we could possibly connect the two during a later RP? But yeah just think of it is as a kind of side-plot. Arc knows who Scarlet is though, but hasn't had much contact with her.)

(Ray is the daughter of an aristocratic family, and she’s always gotten everything she’s wanted. She’s not very happy though, for while her parents spoil her with gifts, they’ve never actually shown her true affection. She’s 16-years-old now and in place of the Future Wives meetings she’s supposed to go to, she visits her sensei, for Ray has been learning the way of the ninja for some time now. In October she had finally become a Kunoichi and she plans to make the most of it. With her great reflexes and ranged attacks she also specializes in the wind element of magic. For personality she’s a sweet and affectionate girl, always kind to everyone with a smile upon her face, but never getting to involved or close to them at the same time. Recently she’s been daydreaming of the world of peasants and the middle class, wishing she could be just like them. Pic of Her Adorableness ^^)

(do I have to post a bio? gonk ))
PostPosted: Sun Dec 10, 2006 7:21 pm

Well, actually, he's more of a straightman, but yeah... by the way, the suicide rate triples during the holidays>

Name: Jakt Wethulius (yep, just smacked my head against the keyboard for that one, I hate making up names)

Jakt hails from the lands of Badnameria, an area composed of hundreds of small kingdoms, about a mile in diameter each. Due to the tradition of splitting the lands in two (half for the eldest son, half for some other random youngest prince who marries the youngest daughter), the kingdoms have become unbearably small and extremely impoverished. Jakt, a second son with absolutely no future (other than to fail in some quest so his youngest brother can suceed), has left his homeland, ready to fail in his quest to find some golden apple (this will be secondary to anything happening in your rp).

Although his princely education was somewhat unorthodox (he often acted as the royal dishwasher for the extremely understaffed castle), Jakt does know how to fight, ride, and other basic prince stuff. However, his primary skills are in archery and academia.

(wingless that's fine...and I completely understand lol just make sure everyone tries to follow the story as close as possible. ^^)

Arc got a painful premonition....and woke up in a cold sweat. It was so painful, like some unknown force ripping the entire world in half as if it were as thin as pink paper.

Arc got up....and he somehow just knew it was time for another journey. "My dream...I saw five faces flashing in front of me." As a White Mage, Arc was forced to get to know everyone in the community of Arcadia on a superficial basis, even if he didn't necessarily want to, so he already knew whom to seek out. It was Fate that he would become a White Mage Elder someday, and he might even get to rule the entire city. But that wasn't really important to Arc. He wanted more than anything to find 'true love' as silly and hopeless as that could be. He didn't care about power, because he had so many people kissing his a** for so long throughout his life. Compliments didn't have much effect on him anymore, and he longed for someplace else. Sometimes he even put himself in situations where he'd feel embarrassed on purpose, just for the change of pace.

It was too peaceful here, too quiet. It was time to go out and see the world.

The Religious were allowed everywhere in town, they could even walk in places uninvinted at any hour of the day, although MOST were much too respectful for that. But White Mages were honored greatly around the world, and he merely had to wear his white robes and he'd be welcome inside any place. Even the uppity part of the city, where he only half-liked.

Arc, feeling dangerous for some reason, didn't knock, and used his title as an excuse to simply open the two wide doors of Ray's mansion. "Uh...is Ray home?" Arc asked quietly to the Butler. The place literally reeked of money.

(OOC: THE SUICIDE RATE DOES NOT TRIPLE DURING THE HOLIDAYS, btw...that's a myth. Most suicide happens in summer! WINTER IS A MAGICAL, FUN PLACE!!! XD)
PostPosted: Sun Dec 10, 2006 9:06 pm

((thank you :gonk.: xDD thats funny. if i were to suicide i'd do it in the winter. such a wonderful time to die, it think....moving on...yay! Christmas!))
Lydia took in a deep lungful of the cold air.
"I love the winter." she said. she slowly exhaled, and took in a nother breath, letting the sharp air fill her.
"Mm...yes, no school, Christmastime..." came a voice besides her ear. She jumped. The voice laughed.
"Don't do that, rai." she said, blushing.
"Just having some fun." he said, lighting punching her shoulder. "you're so easy to scare." she turned back to the horizen, looking out from the hill unto the city below.
"-sigh- i don't particualry enjoy Christmas...." She said. he shok his head, chuckling. She pulled up a handful of snow, shaping it into ice and slowly molding it with magic, forming a perfect little angel with six wings.

Looking extremely out of place, Jakt stumbled through the city, feeling horrendously exposed. He slunk through crowds of people, avoiding eye contact, but constantly searching at the same time.

Suddenly, his eyes lit upon a small apple on the ground, slightly bruised but still edible. Barely restraining a crow of delight, he snatched it up and bit into it with delight.

An old woman shuffled up to him. "Food for an old woman?" she queried, poking him in the back sharply.

Jakt groaned mentally. Not now, he thought, forcing his face to stay blank. "I'm sorry," he apologized in the most sincere voice he could muster, turning to face the woman, "I'm all out of food. I gave it, and my coat, to the last old woman I met."

The old woman's eyes glinted wickedly, trying desperately to restrain a smile. "None at all?" she taunted, her voice growing suspiciously less old. Her eyes found the apple Jakt was holding behind his back and her smile grew.

Realizing he was beaten, Jakt resignedly handed the fruit over to the woman. "My apologies," he said in a husky voice, "please accept this. It's all I have."

Her face contorting terribly, she snatched the apple from him. "One day," she snarled, "you're going to get too hungry to refuse me. And then I'll get you."

"Undoubtedly," Jakt said with a sardonic grin, his voice very low, "but at least then I'll get a decent meal. Good fortune on all your travels."

Her face contorted with fury, the old woman vanished in a puff of smoke, muttering to herself angrily as she disappeared.

Shrugging, Jakt continued walking, his eyes out for anymore food. "Fairies," he muttered, running a hand through his straw-like hair, trying to ignore his growling stomach.

The butler smiled at Arc as he gestured to the staircase. He knew better than to refuse entrance to special guests, and money granted limited power if the church wishes it too. “She should be in the study, three doors to the left.” He closed the doors after the mage. “But please, make yourself at home while I fetch her. Lately she’s been locking herself in there frequently and it may be a little while to coax her out.” He then left Arc in the grand entranceway, jade colored velvet sofas nearby, crafted upon gold. The home was quite eye appealing, nothing in it anything you could buy at the market, and there were multiple maids in view, cleaning everywhere and tending to a party of smoking men far off to the left, in the large dining area.

The butler meanwhile knocked three times upon the door, and behind it Ray gave it a nasty glare. They knew not to disturb her while she was studying. She wiping the sweat from her forehead and moved over to the sofa she’s laid her dress on, slipping it over the tight white clothes of the simpler folk she wore when practicing her martial arts. “I’ll be there in a moment!”

The door was roughly shoved open with no warning, almost toppling the butler over. She wasn’t trying to be a jerk; she was just flustered, and actually grabbed his hand before he fell. “I’m sorry Bernard, what is it?” The butler pointed down, 30 feet below to Arc. She eyed his for a moment and nodded. She grabbed the hem of her dress of both sides and proceeded down the stairs quickly. With a smile and utmost grace she curtsied before him. “Hello, how can I help you Arc? If the church is in need of another donation I can fetch my father to write a check...”

Rai touched the face of the angel slightly with flame, the face becoming a perfect likeness of Lydia's. she sighed, not wishing to argue once more over this point, and the figure crumbled into light flakes of snow.
"Let's head back."

Arc smiled uneasily at Ray. "No, it is not that.... it's just well, there's no easy way to put this, but... Fate has been very clear. You have been Chosen, ma'lady." He coughed, he thought of Ray as a sort of friend and didn't feel comfortable being so formal with her although he was just a bit nervous. "Every so often I get these premonitions of great dangers to come. I have no idea what to expect, but I do know that you and a few others need to come with me and we need to head east, through the Malboro Swamp Lands, then up north through Timberbark Forest and then finally further north to the chilly plains known as 'Winterspring'."

Arc sighed. "That is all I know... my visions are very vague. But I do know if we do not follow them, horrible things will happen. I am sorry to burden your life like this, but it is imperative that you come with me. And yes, you don't have to ask, it will be very dangerous."

Arc sighed, allowing all this to absorb into the girl.

Ray looked at Arc with an awkward expression, one of confusion and slight fear, though this was just for show, for secretly she was ecstatic, until the thought of her parents crossed her mind. Few knew of her secret, not even her mage friend unless he’d seen it in his vision, though he must have been keeping it a very good secret for she couldn’t tell. She brushed bangs from her face and with a sigh took out the loose, falling apart bun and let her hair fall about to just past her waist. “I... I’ll see what I can do. I doubt my parents would let me travel out there, even with a plea from a white mage.” If he thought of it, it was quite clear why. She was the only child to an enormous fortune, and in reality the fortune was her mothers, and her mother couldn’t give birth to another child without losing her life. It’s why she was caged up in the high-class society.

With a short pause and her eyes upon the ground during that time, her gaze rose to Arc. She’d formulated a plan in those few seconds. She whispered. “I’ll meet you at the church. Now hurry off and find the others.” And then she spoke quite clearly. “I’m sorry but I don’t believe I can go with you, though I wish you the best of luck with your task.” She kissed him on the cheek in her friendly manner and ran off up the stairs. She would have to do this right if it would happen at all.

They sat in the dark alley corner, huddled together in the small slightly covered area made of cardboard boxes. When the old toothless bum came wandering around to steal their spot, Rai held up a ball of fire, and lydia one of ice, and he quickly decided to check out another spot.
"'Nite" Lydia said. Resting her head on the ragged pillow.
"What about my good night kiss?" Rai said, pouting. She sighed loudly.
"You've asked everynight since we've met, and i havent given you one ever, so what maks you think ill give you one now?" She said, shuffling around untill she was comfortable and closed her eyes and went to sleep. Rai smiled, then went to his respective corner and went to sleep.

Arc nodded at Ray lovingly. He could tell she really wanted to come, and having that desire made all the difference. He only hoped that his other two comrades would be this easy.

Arc ventured in the homeless part of Arcadia. What a stark constrat, Arc thought as he did his best to avoid eye contact with the various thugs. If he smiled at them in a friendly manner, like he wished to, most of them would take it as an act of condescenion and rip him in pieces. He couldn't really blame them. It was just their lifestyle. It was the only thing they knew.

The White Mage saw Lydia and Rai, sleeping soundly inside a cardboard box. He kicked them gently. "Wake up you two" he whispered.
