Since I've become somthing of an Elfdoll maniac recently, I thought I'd see if there are anymore Elfdoll's on the board.
If you're there, come out where I can see you!
Edit: Since this post I have received and sold my Elfdoll, but not before making a nice long review of the company and the doll in post 4. Please read if you are considering ordering from this company.

Do you have an elfdoll?
Are they do they pose well? Are the prices in US$?

I don't have one yet, I ordered one about two weeks ago and she should show up at my house around mid January. Shipping is very slow, but it's because all dolls are made to order and they don't charge a shipping fee. The prices on the Website are in USD so what you see is what you pay.

I know I know, Rain Maker (aka Oak Leaf, recent name change) has been resurrected from the dead only to haunt this forum once more if only for a week. xp
So, it's been several months and because of work, school, and other things that keep getting in the way, I am all but unable to get online like I used to and for the longest time I even forgot about this guild.
So here I am reporting on Elfdoll in case anyone is particularily interested:
Elfdoll is a decent company to work with. The order periods annoy me, but I guess they are in place for a reason. Then, their processing/making/shipping is on the slow side. They ship EMS and shipping is free, so once they do ship, the doll usually arrives at your house within three days (except in my case because my girl got misrouted to Wisconsin). Total time between orering and shipping was about 4 weeks for me.
Upon arrival, her box was very neat and very well packaged. Elfdoll even sent me a free gift wig (but don't get your hopes up, the wig isn't the prettiest or most desirable wig in the world). The Lydia I ordered was in perfect condition, nothing wrong at all to begin with. She was strung perfectly, she held her poses well and her arms seemed to have a slightly larger range of motion than Luts, even being able to cross her arms to some extent.
The paint went on her face amazingly and I had no problem using alcohol on her to clean up mistakes (but I will never suggest using acetone on anything doll related EVER). When it came to adding eyelashes, however, the shape of her eyes made the false lashes bend in odd ways and I had to keep messing with them while they were drying to make them look normal.
Her head was a bit on the small side and while I have no complaints about her face, her body wasn't so shockinhly wonderful. I ordered the three piece large bust and I got just that. Her bust itself wasn't larger than Lishe's chest, but her chest cavity was on the large side and if allowed to pose naturally, it stuck out very much. This could be fixed by pushing her body inward almost as if to make her slouch. Her joints were very simplistic and on the knoby side when compared to Luts and her thighs were HUGE! I have no problem with girls that have large thighs, believe me, I'm one of them. However, Lydia's thighs seemed dispropportionate to the slenderness of her arms and the size of her feet.
Speaking of feet, this is where I begin to rant instead of purely deliver the facts. The hands and feet of Elfdoll's are held on by metal screws that are screwed into the resin instead of molded resin bits that are connect to the hands and feet themselves. These screws aren't nearly as strong as the molded bits and within 6 days of her arrival, one of her screws had pulled clean through it's treads and became stuck in the ball of her ankle. Needless to say, her foot came off and I was depressed and frantic trying to figure out what to do and what went wrong. I searched around on the Yahoo board and while the members there speak of it likes it's a rare occurance, a very trusted source (many of your probably know her on DoA as StephG) filled me in on how often this actually happens. To insure that the other foot wouldn't come loose, I gently pulled the foot away from the ball and screwed the foot in tighter and put epoxy putty around said screw and the other one to keep them from coming out again.
While I was able to fix the problem, I was not able to bond with the doll after that incident. I spent a couple of months trying and was utterly unsuccessful. I ended up selling her to another DoA member who a forwarned about the feet and hands and since she owns other Elfdolls, I figured she'd at least have more experience in case it was called for.
I know that this is a very critical review, but this is exactly how I feel about the company. As much as I like the look of some of their dolls, I don't know if I'd be up for ordering another one, at least not any time soon. Please take everything I say in consideration when ordering from this company and if need be, I can try to provide the pm StephG sent to me (with her permission) regarding everything I've just said.
