I.Am.The.Squishy Using protection, like condoms.
Yes, the same rules apply here for gay, straight, and bisexual people. Condoms can and should be used for vaginal, oral, and a**l sex. They make scented and flavored ones for oral. They also have things called dental dams, which allow one to perform oral sex on a female without direct mouth/genital contact. If you get into a serious relationship with another person, you can both get tested. A few weeks later, get tested again. If you both come out clean, you can decide whether you trust each other enough to go without the condoms.

Yes, it is possible. First of all, not all gay people have AIDS or HIV; you can't contract anything from someone who doesn't have it. Second of all, use a condom to protect yourself in case your partner has or might have HIV or another STD.

I would suggest that if you're going to have a**l sex (I'm presuming you're referring to two men having sex?), you should use a condom unconditionally. From what I understand, HIV/AIDS and STDs are transmitted most easily through a**l sex simply because of the amount of tissue trauma involved. Even if the two partners are free of STDs, remember what an a**s is used for first and foremost. It is because of that that it is simply more hygenic to use condoms for a**l sex.

Teh AntiSecks remember what an a**s is used for first and foremost. It is because of that that it is simply more hygenic to use condoms for a**l sex. This is merely a matter of opinion. Some people think vaginal fluids or semen are gross too. Contrary to popular belief, after a**l sex, the p***s is NOT usually going to come out covered in feces. If it were that low in that intestines, chances are you would have already pooped it out. Plus, feces really isn't THAT unsanitary. Unless you have hepetitus or something else, it's nothing more than poop. The only reason you NEED a condom is because of STDs, not because it's "gross". If you think it's gross, just don't do it. (Did I just really defend a**l sex and poop? Ugh.)

That's why you wash your hands after using the bathroom. biggrin So I'd think twice before having a**l sex without a condom...

Well one thing you have to understand is, STDs aren't made of nothing. One of you has to have it, so make sure to know if your partner has one. If they don't, then you have nothing to worry about.
If they do have it, then take the advice of these people.

Some people think vaginal fluids or semen are gross too. Just to add, we must also remember what the p***s and the v****a are used for first and foremost - urination. Can you have some urine (dried up or otherwise) in or around your p***s/v****a when you go to have intercourse? Sure. Is that really so much better than having some fecal matter in or around your a**s when you go to have intercourse? Not in my books. But yes, in answer to the original question, there are two primary ways to protect yourself. 1) Only have sex with "clean" people (get a test if you aren't sure). 2) Use protection. This won't protect you 100%, but nothing short of a bubble will do that.

There also the fact that you may get ripped inside or the other person does, in which case can cause a person to become slightly ill.
