"But Dad, I wasn't-" "I know you didn't mean it, Tui'lian, but you could have been killed!" Tui cringed to the ground as he father scodled her, ears flat against her skull. He had concern in his eyes, but Tui was too caught up in defending herself to see it. She hated it when he used her full name like that, as if she was a cub who hadn't opened her eyes yet! "Honestly dad, I'm not a cub anymore!" "But you're still too young to venture off by yourself!" "No I'm not! I would have been fine! Just... just leave me alone!" Tui yelled, tears stinging her eyes. Riku looked at her with shock, obviously hurt. Tui turned and ran, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Tui! Come back!" Riku called, standing. He leaped after his daughter and quickly caught up with her. With one of his large paws, he placed it in front of Tui and she collided with him. She looked up at him at first with anger. She slowly placed her head on his leg, crying. "I'm sorry, dad.. I just.. want to be like you. I want to be able to do stuff I see you and mom doing." She looked up at him, eyes shining with tears. Riku smiled down at her with a fatherly gaze. "Tui..." He began, then sighed and smiled. "You know I can't say no to you." He licked her head and she giggled softly. "You can go and explore for a little while. But please, stay at least a little close?" She grinned and rubbed against his big mane for a few moments. "Thanks dad! Love you!" She said as she bounded off into the forest. Riku shook his head. "I'm such a softy." He said as he turned and walked back to their den.
Tui'lian was more happy than she had been in a long, long time. Exploring alone! It was one of her biggest dreams. And she knew there was no danger around the pride lands, as long as she stayed in the boundaries. Although... the juvenile had no idea where the boundaries ended. She shrugged the thought off, too interested in the small animals and plants around her as she made her way deeper into the jungle, and further to the plains that were not part of the pride lands.

Chowazeke hummed softly as she padded through a ravine, stopping every so often to brush her paws over the wet soil in order to unearth an herb. Her golden eyes lit with delight as another leafy herb, glittering with rain from the previous shower, poked through the ground in her path. She placed it gently in her teeth and proceeded onward, feeling the sharp breeze weave down the ravine and glide through her fur.
Chowa stopped abruptly, lifting her head to peer at the silvery sky. Something had moved.. a sound of twigs cracking under the weight of paws was heard. She breathed in, but could detect nothing. Whatever it was, it was downwind. She frowned, and stared blindly into the distance, then shrugged it off and continued on, faster this time.

Suddenly a golden ball of fur flew through the air, and landed with a thud on the ground not too far from where Chowa had just been. Tui groaned and rubbed her head, shaking off the leaves and twigs from her cot. "Stupid hill." She muttered, "I didn't even see it." With a huff she started to take in her surroundings, raising a nervous brow. "Where... am I? Oh no... dad was right..." She said sadly, looking around. She was defini9tly on the outside of the pirde lands. And she had no idea how to get back. The little lioness was so caught up in how she was going to get home that she didn't even notice the other lioness.

Chowa spun around, feeling the fur on the back of her neck raise. A low, squeaky growl formed in her throat as she swung her head from side to side, trying to find the source of the sounds she had heard. She peered out along the path she taken, until golden eyes fell upon a cub in the near distance.
Chowa sighed in relief, letting her raised fur settle. She looked up and down, shaping the fall the cub had took in her mind.
"Are you hurt?", she called gently, realizing the cub had not noticed her yet. "Stay still. If you make any sudden jerks, you could hurt yourself further", she called, speaking with motherly softness. Chowa paused, hoping the cub would not run off.
"I'm a friend", she said, stepping cautiously forward, while running her eyes over Tui's bruised body. "Poor girl", she muttered to herself.

Tui jumped when she heard the voice, and she spun her head around to see who had spoken. But her plan backfired, because a sudden wave of dizziness swept over her and she closed her eyes tightly for a few moments. When she opened her eyes again, her vision was still blurry but she made out the form of a young lioness in the distance.
"Okay..." She said softly, squinting her eyes to see the other more clearly. "Who're you?" She asked, her curiousity taking over her shyness and pain.

Chowa clenched her teeth as Tui spun her head in Chow's direction. She rushed forward, pressing her paw against Tui's side to steady her.
"My name is Chowazeke", she said softly, "but you may call me Chowa."
The young lioness reached towards a bundle of glittering leaves she had left behind, all moist and a healthy green.
"These are herbs" she told the cub, taking a pawful of them and setting them in front of Tui. "Herbs make you strong. These particular herbs will help numb you", she paused, "poor girl. You took a nasty fall."
She cautiously took her other paw off of Tui's side, hoping the cub would not fall over. "Try to eat these." She pushed the leafy herbs closer.
Her orange eyes looked the cub over. "You'll be fine. You can trust me; I'm a healer." She let out a laugh.

"A... healer?" She asked, looking up at the lioness with wide eyes. "My dad told me about healers! My uncle is one." She grinned and looked down at the herbs. She made a sour face, sticking her tongue out. "They taste gross though." She scooped them up with her tongue, surprised to find out that the herbs didn't taste all that bad. "Thanks! I'm Tui'lian, but everyone callsme Tui." She said with a grinm pieces of green herbs stuck in her little teeth.
"Hey Chowa?" She asked, laying down in front of the other lioness, and slowly looking around. "Do you know where we are? My dad told me not to go too far from the pride lands, but I think I did... I've never been ehre before." She said in bashful tone, not meeting Chowa's eyes.

Chowa grinned, reading the cub's thoughts. "You'd think they'd taste nasty, wouldn't you? But, then again, some herbs do. Let's just be grateful you fell down a hill." Chowa laughed, patting her paw.
Her happy expression drifted off with the wind at Tui's next comment. "We're quite far from the Pridelands. You're lost, Tui?" Sadness flickered in her eyes. She turned to look toward the horizon in the distance, white with light against the silver rainclouds.
"It's going to rain again", she said, looking thoughtfully back to Tui. "You couldn't possibly get back home before the rains come again. But, child, you are welcome to sit it out with me." She motioned with the flick of her tail to a weak-looking nest of bundled leaves among the bushes. "I was just about to travel on, but it appears nature has different plans." Chowa laughed weakly, pitying the cub.

Tui smiled up at her and nodded. "I feel better already!" She said, standing up hesitantly. She grinned as she realized she wouldn't get dizzy this time. Looking over to where Chowa pointed, she trotted over and sat her bum down with a smile.
"I hope my dad doesn't worry too much." She said, looking thoughtful. "He's a worry-wart." She giggled and looked over at Chowa again. "I was a slave for a really small time when my mom and dad had me and my brother." She nodded with a smile. She obviously loved to tell the tale. "But then we escaped. Well, the big mean lion let us go, but I dunno why. Dad won't tell me the entire story yet." She shrugged the thought off and laid down. "Do you have any family?" She asked, as a few droplets of rain began to fall from the clouds.
