Well I'm going to New York City Tuesday and was wondering where is the best place to find some guitar shops. I'm spefically looking to try out a Line 6 Spider II amp. Last year when we went we found a few shops but I think they were mosly sam ash. So if you have any idea where abouts in the city is a good spot for guitar shopping let me know. Thanks.

Sam Ash is a great music store.
Go to http://www.samash.com to find the store closest to where you will be visiting.
Sam Ash is nice, but I got mainly brass and keyboards there. The only guitar I got there was a second-hand bashed-up Fender (works great, though!).
