The sunlight filtered through the atmosphere, spilling golden rays onto the morning land as a sleepy orb peeked over the horizon. Emerging from the den was a tan pelted lioness, emitting a yawn as a gentle breeze carressed her. She stepped to the edge of Pride Rock, watching the ground below through gleaming eyes. She was in a good mood today, and that was surprising.
Stepping away, the pridelander flashed a dazzling grin, daring the world to bring her down, knowing full well the day might take that dare and make her regret it. However, Rehani didn't care for the moment, turning her head from the sunrise to head down the stone steps. Bounding in the grass, the female let loose a joyous laugh, even though the momentary distraction set her off balance. She landed with a small thud onto the ground, rolling over in the grass a few times as if it had been an intentional fall.

His ears twitched. That laugh...He was dreaming right? It sounded like the soothing voice his mother had once spoken to him with, before /teh day/. His ears flickered. She was back! She...She just had to be! As the adult lioness had frolicked to the grass, the small, ivory chocolate male, popped up from his resting spot, calling out softly to the female.
"Momma!!" He mewled, unaware that it was not his mother.

The cry of a cub halted her playing, ears perking up curiously. That was not her cub speaking to her, or aty least she didn't think so. Rolling onto her stomach, she stood, peering this way and that for the maker of the words. Finally she spotted him, a cub not unlike her own children. She walked towards him, looking down not too far from him. "Little one?" Rehani asked quietly, bnot sure if he was talking to her or if he was lost.

It was then he caught her scent. The words little one wrung through his small ears, which perked down at his mistake. "Oh..." He started quietly. "I..I'm sorry." If he was a canine, he would've had his tail inbetween his legs. "I..I...You sound like her.." Was all the blind boy mentioned, casting his voidless gaze to the adult lioness. You could easily tell he had lost his sight. The appearance of three clawmarks stretching across the pale colored orbs was a dead giveaway.

Frowning, the lioness's ears drooped a little bit. "I'm sorry, little one." The mark across his eyes saddened her, wondering what sort of creature would harm such a defenseless little cub. "Don't be sorry. It was an accident." She wanted to nuzzle him and comfort him, but part of her was afraid of if the little blind boy would be angry.

"It's okay." The little one said disappointingly. "I..should've known she would never come back." His small eyes casted to the ground, as well as his neck craning that direction. The cub's voice was soft, meek, almost a mew escaping after he spoke. "Wh..Who are you?" The ivory male managed to ask, after trying to recompose his figure. "I'm Kipofu'Bakhti." He liked his name; it mentioned his mother after all.

"My name is Rehani." She answered, feeling great sorrow. So, his mother was gone, huh? Poor little guy. She lay down on the ground in front of him. "It's nice to meet you, Kipofu'Bakhti." Her voice was soothing and soft, trying to help the litte one as best she could.

Rehani, eh? It was different then all the names of his siblings and parents combined. "Are you part of this pride as well?" The male cub asked quietly, looking towards Rehani, although his eyes never actually managed to meet hers. By the way the female spoke was how Kip could picture what she looked like. If you had a quiet, calm voice and personality, he could sense that it was of neutral colors or markings. If they were loud, that could've meant that the speaker was a bright color, or perhaps bore a unique marking.
It was a shame Kipo never would find out if he was right about his scope.

"I was born in this pride and raised in it. I've hardly ever passed the borders for more than a few hours." Both a note of pride and sorrow rang in her voice as Rehani watched the little cub. She had often wished that she'd left when she had been young, and gone to see the world past her home, but there was nothing now she could do. Time had tricked her, sadly enough. "Do you have any siblings?"
