So who do you prefer? And when I say "old school" I mean the old cartoon, not the comics. Though if you want to weigh in on that feel free to do that too. ^^

Personally I MUCH prefer the new April. I never liked the old one, it always seemed like "the story" was her #1 priority. Even as a kid I didn't have trouble believing she'd inevitably sell the turtles out for a story.

Definitely perfer FB April. She has more character to her.

Old school was so much like the "Damsel in Distress" time and time again because nothing else was important to her than getting the inside scoop to make the headlines, and landed her butt in trouble 99.9% of the time. She was a bit of a ditz.

FB April is really spunky, smart, tough, and by no means a "Damsel in Distress."

I prefer the new April over the yellow-suit banana TV news reporter... biggrin Her character is very similar to the Mirage Volume 1 comics, and that is why I like her. She works alongside Dr. Stockman in the original comics and is experienced in the field technology.

No disrespect to the original cartoon April-- she was great! She was perhaps the first human the turtles came in contact with. This led the turtles to go above ground more often and develop relations with other humans. I liked her unique twist as a TV news reporter.

I like the look of the old April better. 4 some reason, she doesn't seem complete without the yellow jumpsuit. In the current cartoon, she's more of an asset. She also seems more careful not 2 go 2 w/ the TMNT in any battle in the new cartoon. April is the 1st human the turtles meet in the comics, cartoons, & movies.

when the new cartoon came out, i wasn't used to how this april looked. like the turtles/casey/splinter (with a color change) looked good and i don't remember them really looking different (again, except for the splinter color change). april was the only good-guy to get a real make-over. i'm used to it now though and like her. but i don't know which april i liked better

I wasn't used to how April looked either in the new cartoon. She had bright red hair for cryin out loud! That's a drastic change from Brownish hair she had in the old cartoon. Now, I have no problem with the new April, as I've adjusted nicely! It makes the cartoon look more anime-ish when you have various vibrant hair colors; change is good.

I was the same way when I saw her, or more so the size of her shirt. O_O I still think it's a little odd that she got away with doing the whole lab thing in a tiny shirt but y'know whatever. I guess Stockman liked the ladies! whee

I think that, personality-wise, I prefer the new April (precisely because she's based more off that original comic April) . . . but the 'old' cartoon April made me so interested in journalism when I was younger that I ended up on my highschool newspaper staff and a member of the journalism club we had. biggrin As to her appearance . . has anyone else noticed that when she's in that aformentioned small, purple shirt it, along with her hip-hugging jeans, sometimes makes her seem like her butt crack continues up her back and as far as the eye can see? (My sister called it that once and, darn her, I can see it sometimes now, too . . sweatdrop )

As to the Turtles . . they look fine . . Master Splinter, though, always makes me want to go grab The Rats of NIMH and sit down to watch it! (I love so many of his lines in this new series!)

I actually had noticed the butt-crack thing, and frankly I thought my best friend and I were really weird for taking notice. *L* At least we don't have to feel so weird now. We're so silly when watching that show that we pick up on the STUPIDEST things. (Like the fact that all the turtles and even April had speed lines but Casey didn't get any. Or the fact that Shredder said "failure" a LOT and we joked about making a drinking game of it.)

A drinking game sounds like fun! I'd probably want it to include a drink every time Baxter's dumb enough to back talk Shredder! (Boy, for someone who's supposed to be so smart he can sure be stupid!)

Already happened! 3nodding (You see it when he's hanging around with some gangsters . .) Right now he's nothing more than a brain; eek I nearly lost it when Shredder saw him and said "Stockman . . you really should have quit while you were a head"! lol Again . . for someone so smart, he can be really stupid!
