So, I recently took the new SAT, and I thought it was a pretty accurate test. While standardized testing is in and of itself not a very good system, I think this is a step in the right direction-Granted I didn't take the old one. In any case, I was wondering how many of you have come into contact with the new SAT, and what you thought of it.

I haven't taken the new or old one, but i have family that has taken both. From what she said, the new one is easier and dumbed down.

forsakenkae Haha... Canadian. No SAT's. We're just trusting here. God, I hate being American. I wish I were Canadian.
Oh, but I haven't taken either of the SAT's, I'm only a Sophmore. ~EDIT~I'd also like to add, the fact that the test is a made so the male, European-American, with high middle/wealthy class parents can easily get his way into Harvard, or MIT, or Cambridge, etc. You all get the drift. The test flaws us that are not that to fail. And I can bet you that they didn't do that on accident.

SAT tests aren't going to be as different as every other multiple choice fill in the bubble test that we have taken. Everyone just stresses about them. I get to take it next year as a junior...*twirls finger*

I'm freshmen.
I really liked the analogies and I think the would have helped my score. And seriously, if some African doesn't know that lemons in the U.S. are yellow as opposed to green they probably won't do well on anything that has to do with things like that in college so... (An example of the complaints that lead to the change has to do with lemons. Apparently lemons in Africa are green and therefore if the answers were a) as orange is to blue b) as strawberry is to red c) as dog is to truck d) as you are to me e) as kiwi is to pink An African wouldn't notice lemons are yellow so the correct answer is strawberry's are red and would chose between e and a.)

I just took the new SAT test in March. And it sucked just because it took us FIVE hours.
I don't know about the old test, just that it was easier in certain subjects that I am terrible at. Like math. I only heard this from my teachers, so I'm not even sure if it's true. The only thing I want to complain about right now is the fact that, even though every single student in the room had finished a certain part of the test, we still had to wait 20 minutes so the 50 minute time finishes.
I have no idea why. But it sucked. D= I never want to take it again.
