or i may not have a story of a women who was 8 months pregnant who shot her self in the stomach purposly(sp) killing her baby girl well the woman went to trial only to be found not guilty of an unlawful abortion i an studying criminal law and my teacher expleained that the bill had a small detail that mentioned in some way or form another party but never said if a mother cuased the abortion but guess what Virginia is changing the law so that anyone who does that or anything to kill a baby that way or anyway will get punished I found a linkAnother link continuing the story Part 2.Video at bottom of the page

That's just sick and disturbing. Being so desperate to kill someone that you shoot yourself? If she was getting off on a techinicality, I'd ALMOST prefer it if she were considered insane.

Was she found not guilty by reason of insanity?
I hope she gets the therapy she needs...I see patients every day in psych wards far less crazy than that...

How could she have survived that without hitting or losing any organs? What caliber was the gun, do you know? It seems really far-fetched and weird.

PS: Your sig makes me glad I have the Firefox image block extention xp anywho not sure the police didn't release much information about what type of gun since it didn't do much to her but i belive she was in the hospital a few weeks

This woman needs some serious help, if she hasn't been given it already. I don't think throwing her in jail is the solution to cases like these since anyone who would take such actions to harm their baby is not mentally stable and is a risk to the public

PS: Your sig makes me glad I have the Firefox image block extention xp she probaby shot herself from the side of her stomach, rather than towards the center of her body, that way she would have missed her other organs. Either way the gunshot damage was probably so bad that they would have had to remove her uterus, which isn't a bad thing since this woman should never have children or be given children to take care of

That's the story where someone blamed pro-life legislation for her shooting herself. It came out around the same time as the South Dakota stuff, so I assumed they didn't read the big VIRGINIA part that appeared in the article several times and assumed she hadn't had access to an abortion clinic, since she said, "This is what happens when you don't have access to an abortion clinic," and, "If the state kept me from aborting then that's what I'd do." It took awhile for people to notice, hoshit she wanted the baby up until a little bit before the shooting!
