Wow. Tuba too.

I tried to play it once... took alot more air than I thought.

yeah, the transition from baritone to tuba was quite difficult. i play first baritone so i play higher notes and when i play the tuba the notes are incredibly low and i use twice as much air. i want to learn how to play the trumpet and the french horn too. this way i can dominate the brass, but it takes alot of time to learn a new instrument. good thing they all have three valves, i tried to learn the flute and just about died trying to control ten fingers at the same time whee

Do you read in T.C. or B.C.? If T.C., then aside from the embrochure, learning trupet will be a peice of cake... especially for a tubist and first chair Baritone player wink . Good luck on becoming a full-blown brass player, though... especially for the French Horn... it's supposed to be one of the two hardest instruments out there (the other being oboe).

B.C. although my bd has been pushing me to learn T.C., i might, but id rather learn how to play the french horn first as ive already started. the first chair has been helping me after school, just to get the basics which has been fairly easy so far, all except the tuning with your hand thing. ive got an 80% hearing loss in my right ear so its hard for me to tune myself. you should have seen me when i first started trombone. i had to stick tape on my slide to remember where all the positions are sweatdrop

Heh, thats funny. Well, it's good you'e already got some learning. I like the sound of french horns and euphoniums... i might try to write a duet for them... i doubt it will sound good though, im not that great (writing).

im sure you're better than you think, ive been writing music for our band for ages. but i can only write jazz band music. i try to write music for concert band but it always sounds jazzy. i just love jazz, i always swing notes and my bd makes me play by myself so that everybody knows how to not play in concert band sweatdrop its like im twice as good in jazz band than i am in concert, which is weird cuz ive been playing the baritone much longer than ive been playing the trombone. guess i was destined to play jazz or something.

hehe, jazz baritone razz . You write music too? that's cool, do you have a sample or something? I have so much crap lying around on my computer that i've barely started a few of which actually sound pretty good. I'd like to hear some of yours though smile .

this is something ive just started, i have no idea what ill call it or anything cuz i basically just kinda write down whatever sounds good and then pull everything together when im finished. its for trombone as i write all the melodies for trombone cuz im selfish and want to play the melodies myself

Hmm, I'm writing it into my MIDI software right now, sounds good. do you have a program on your computer for composing, or do you just write it down?
