Okay.
I know this may seem a bit weird, but here's my theory (slightly spoiler-sih-ish):
Bella doesn't really have any solid relationship with any humans other than her parents. I'm reading New Moon again and when I read the pasage;
"... But Jacob? Jacob, who was just Jacob, and nothing more than that? Jacob, my friend? Jacob, the only human I'd ever been able to relate to....
And he wasn't even human.
I fought the urge to scream again.
What did this say about me?
I knew the answer to that one. It said that there was something deeply wrong with me. Why else would my life be filled with characters from horror movies? Why else would I care so much about them that it would tear big chunks out of my chest when they went off along their mythical ways?"
- p.294/295, chpt. 12, Intruder, from New Moon, by Stephenie Meyer.
So that got me thinking... Is Bella really not human? I mean, sure it owuld be possible for a human to be that way, but I sense that there's more to Bella. I mean, practally all the boys were drooling over her on the first day of Forks High School.
I mean, I dunno if that's a boy thing, but it seems a little unusal that Stephenie Meyer described Bella as plain-looking, then had the guys goggling.
Bella also seems to be lucky, considering the odds, and her blood is the sweetest that any of the Cullens and other Vampires have smelled. Also, Edward can't hear her thoughts, and in Midnight Sun even he described it as uncanny and spooky.
I know this is a bit outlandish, but maybe Bella could be a fairy...?!
I've been entertaining this thought for a while, but I dunno. I sometimes have my doubts, too.
