Ok I'm saving up to buy a guild of my own. I can't decide what it's gonna be about yet... maybe TV shows, maybe Robin Hood, maybe random stuff, maybe British stuff... I just don't know. I don't want to limit myself. But there are already TV Guilds out there.
Also, if anyone else has any tips or suggestions for making Guilds and running them then I'd be grateful. I'm on my last 1000 gold before 20000 so soon I will have to make decisions. And then get advertising in the forums... which is even harder...
gonk This is gonna go so badly wrong...

No I'm not but I'd love to join. Even if it is dead.
You could resurrect it - like Frankenstein.

It says English on the front, but it means British.
How silly of us.

I'm in a nearly-dead guild right now. The Holmes Sweet Holmes guild was supposed to be for serious discussion about the Writings (as we serious Sherlockians & Holmesians call the Conan Doyle stories), but it rapidly fell apart into silliness & now huge inactivity. sad I think the owner wanted that kind of guild but didn't really know how to make it so. So I'd say you'll need more than a topic idea, you'll need to have good ideas for the construction of the guild & some good solid starting threads to keep it on track.

Yeah. I'm gonna plan it out before I actually create it. It's so hard to see what makes a good guild and what doesn't. There have been several Guilds I've been in where they've died - either slowly or almost immediately.
I'm always surprised that people leave them that way though. If I thought my Guild was truly dead then I'd clear it out, get rid of all the members and start again with a different idea.

I co-own a guild with my friend - we both saved up 10000 and sent it to a new mule.
At the moment it's pretty dead, but I'm considering running a guild competition to spark off some more activity. If that doesn't work, then I'll talk to her, and see what we can do with the Guild.
About subforums - we didn't have any planned apart from a Crew only one, then we saw what became popular, and added a subforum as we felt like it.

Why does it have to be a fan guild? Can't it just be a guild about you or your friends or something? And then you guys can talk about stuff you like.

Yeah I guess... only I kinda like how fan guilds bring together people who might not otherwise talk and give them something to post about even if they don't know anyone else on the guild. And then people make new friends. If people are already friends it doesn't leave it very open for people to just wander in and start up a conversation.
