Time of day: Evening
Place: Clearing
Season: Winter
A chilly breeze flew in the air and the birds where all asleep. Spice trudged through the snow and found herself in the clearing. Not a sound other than the howling winter wind could be heard. Her foot steps fell silent as she came to a halt. Her Green eyes scanned the white lake of snow and she looked to the sky. It was dusk out right now and the snow sparkled a golden orange.
Spice lifted her leg and began to paw at the snow vigorously until she found the grass. The snow came up half way, almost to her knee. Her multi toned coat shun in the light and her white markings sort of glowed in the light right now.

Again, the french stallion was faced with snow. He didnt like it at all.
He wasnt sure at first, he thought he could overlook and possibly ignore it.. But he had since changed his mind. Snow was stupid, and cold, and the stallion could hardly stand it.
He scanned the area, unsure of what exactly he was looking for. Giving a huff that was so him, he snorted.

Spice nibbled on the grass for a bit, swaying her tail from side to side. She lifted her head a bit and then kneeled down. She laid down and rolled in the snow. She proceeded to get up, shaking The snow off as she did. She felt as if some one was close by but it was most likely just her imagination, what ever the cause she went back to eating, in the place she rolled it was much easier to graze without the snow getting in the way so much.

He spotted the nibbling mare, before she had spotted him. He briefly wondered what he was searching for.. He wasnt sure, but my God! Here was someone out in the dark with him. He approached slowly, as not to scare the odd colored mare.
"Hello?"

Spice immediately lifted her head and looked to the voice that spoke out of the dark. Her Green ocean like eyes looked over to him and her monotone bangs fell in front of her face. She couldn’t see him very well as he was more towards the setting sun but she could make out a white cross and these two white teeth sticking out from his lips.
" Good Evening Sir"
She dipped her head and cautiously drew closer to him. She stopped 5 feet away, to a point where she could see him better but could prepare herself in case she needed to defend herself. He was a natural colored stallion with curly black locks. She couldn’t stop her gaze from floating down to the white cross on his chest. Remembering her manners she looked away from it and smiled at him.

"How are you tonight ma cherie? Surely you must fair better than I do. Lets face it. Snow is not on my list of most loved things." He said, and only cast a slight glare to the white frost around his feet. He shook his feet off, hoping to propel most of the white off of his body. How he was hating this.

Spice shook again revealing her blood red, soot, and snow colored coat. She didtn mind the snow, it wasnt always the best bu it didnt really bother her.
" Well Sir, i myself do fair in the snow, though i'm not to sure if I am fond of it so much. If you dont mind me asking and if it is not rude. But where do you come from? By that accent i can tell you arent from these parts."
Her green orbs stared at him curiously as she watched his actions. She didnt know weather she should draw closer or not. He didnt seem very threatening right now but you couldnt judge until you knew furhter. Her long tail dropped down and fanned out on the ground behind her. The white snow once again after falling began to cover her back up, making her speckled in white.

JC smiled, and spoke softly, trying to make himself seem less threatening. But with his teeth, he had very little time between the initial hello, before some ran off screaming into the night..And that wasnt always a bad thing.
"My cherie, I come from France.. Its a place much farther from this one."
He stomped his own hoof, causeing more snow to fall.

" I've never heard of that. Do the pale two legged live there?"
She asked in a kind voice and decided to draw a little closer to him.
" Ohh where are my manners I’m sorry Sir. I should had introduced my self, my name is Spice"
She was now close enough to catch his scent better and he did smell different. He smelled of a foreign place much like herself. He didn’t smell of spices but he did smell like a place that she had never even seen before, or could imagine.

He nodded, but raised an eyebrow.
"They lived there, but the lovely area isnt completely settled. Im not sure what Im doing here, but, Im here so might as well make the best of it."
He stepped closer to her and smiled.
"The fact that you had to say your name first proves I am no gentleman. My name is Jean-Claude." He said bowng.

" Ohh not at all, you have been the perfect Gentle man I must say. It is rare to find one so polite as you, so it is my pleasure to meet you Jean-Claude"
She smiled and her thoughts drew back to the one stallion that she loved. But he would never return her affections back so for her it was more or less shooting in the dark. Walking in a direction that when you get to the end you realize what and how much of it you have wasted. Her eyes looked away from Him as she felt sorrowful but putting a fake happy face back on she quickly looked to him.
" I myself do not come from around here. Though where i came from there are two legged but they aren’t numerous such as in this place... It snowed there when i was around but who knows if it still does, I haven’t been there in many seasons"
She paused and thought for a second, gathering her thoughts together.
" If its not to nosey or rude of me, but what brings you out this late? Most other Soquili are in bed by this time."

He smiled at her polite remark. Were Soquili here so very different? It was in their blood to be polite and kind to mares in France. It was jsut something they did. He shook his head, letting his mass of curly hair fall around his face.
"Ah, ma cherie, I love the night. I fold it around my body like a cloak. The night is easier on the eyes."

She smiled and then looked up to the moon. It seemed to be full that night and so everything under it had a glow to it, not a blinding glow but a beautiful iridescent one. Spice wished every night could be as beautiful as this. Looking back over to Jean and wondered what his land was like. Was it like this, or completely different? she knew she would never be able to answer that for herself.

" I'm rather new but not so much. I was just grazing here and thinking as i do every night. This is one of the best places for both after all."
She looked down to the snow and didn't raise her head. She was a shy Gentle mare after all and it just now hit her that she did not know this stallion at all. And Besides this way she could let her sadness come through and he wouldnt be able to tell if he couldnt see her eyes.
