Sooo!
This horse I was talking about!
The vet came out and did a pre-sale examination on him today~ I think we're actually gonna be getting him!! I'm really excited!
We asked 2,500$, and his owner is hesitant about it, but is fine with 3,000$ (the highest we'll pay for him), and we might own him by the end of the month! I'm SOOOOO excited, because he's an absolute sweety! ^w^ And the good thing is, is that he's pretty sound. He'll need some work on his front feet that won't be too hard nor expencive, and the conformation of his body has one of his hind feet placed awkwardly, almost in a pigeon-toed way, but the vet isn't concerned about it. The biggest issue is, is that he knows nothing, is kind of out of shape (no muscle tone), and has bad ground manners, but we can work on those, and he learns quickly, which is good. ^w^
About the actual horse...XD
He's a five year old chesnut (red) registered Quarter horse, with some definate thoroughbred in him somewhere along the lines (he has the head of a thoroughbred) named Shadowfax, but we call him Shay/Shea (I call him Shay-day for some reason). I'm trying to decide on what show name I'm going to register him under, but I'm thinking about either Overtime or Daddygotmeapony (like a racehorse name! xD). He's a gelding, so that means he's a man but he can't make no babies (he still has a girlfriend though!). xD
He's 16.3 HH (hands high), so he's pretty big. xD
Personally, I only love him when I'm not working with him. I know that once I work with him more, we'll bond more (because he obviously likes me, he listens to me the best) over time. xD
I spent 180$ on horsey supplies last thursday for his christmas presents. ninja
And I'm going to need to go back out for a couple more things. xd
like blankets, bell boots of my own, tack (eventually)...
Not to mention the fact that I go out to the barn like every day of the week. xD
Ah, quite the hole I've dug myself into.

Maybe if you tell your mom how much you love the horse she'll change her mind?
Is there anyway you can earn some money to help pay for the horse? If you help pay a little maybe your mom will change her mind then.

Panda Pocky -hugs- Tell your mum how much you love the horse 3nodding She knows how much I love him, and she loves him, and so does my dad, and my trainer, and my friends at the barn, and my trainers parents... @Meru A quarter horse is a cowboy horse. : D They're usually like 1/4 of some breed or whatever...I don't pay attention to that stuff. They just have to be pretty. xD @Nymmie Like I said to Panda, she knows how much I love him. I'll probably offer to help pay for him. And my trainer's helping me train him for free, so that helps alot, too. -hugs everybody-

All the trainers I've dealt with are very nice people. Isn't there something you could work out where you work at the barn and help train horses/kids for a portion of the price where most of it is actual money?
I helped teach kids how to ride horses in exchange for free advanced lessons and riding time. I would've been able to change that to leasing a horse as well, except my parents didn't approve(I was younger at the time).
Either way, I haven't been around horses in a really long time, but that is one expensive hobby(Not that filmmaking is any different xd ) so I wish you the best of luck. =3

My trainer is like the coolest lady ever. She's like snobby because she has standards, but she's not, because she burps and stuff. xD Which is funny. And I'm only a Level one rider (I do dressage. 3nodding ), so I can't quite give lessons on my own yet, but I do help out, and the reason I'm getting free training is because I work there every weekend. I might offer to give up half my allowance each month after december or something (due to christmas gifts and all, I'm going on a shopping binge at the local tack store place on thursday. XD 15% of everything)...Hrrm. O: I help my friends with their positioning and stuff, and I help with other stuff, but I only know how to help people if they're riding certain horses at this point. sweatdrop I've given like two lessons to this one girl I know, but I won't start charging until I get a liiiittle bit better. xd And thanks. domokun My mom keeps telling my dad to work more so we can pay for that, two kids playing travel soccer, and our travels. xDD His name is Shadowfax (it's the name his owners gave him), but his nickname is Shea. Oh and I kept replacing horse with kitty in my head...yes I want a kitty even though it'll be a while before I'll be to get one >>
