Sitirika strode across the jungle floor, his legs moving in a casually arrogant stride born of much practice in the art. His pelt blended in better at ground level, where there was some brown splashed in with the green, but he wasn't trying to hide his passage through this terrain. He was in plain sight for all to see as he moved stealthily through the foliage, but he did not scream his presence. He was simply moving too quickly to bother with trying to hide. He wanted out of this place. He had been born here, long ago, but in his idle wanderings here, there and everywhere, he had gotten used to travelling in wide open plains, and the closeness of the jungle trees made him desperate for room to stretch out once again as he had been able to on the plains. Combine that with the bad memories of his cubhood and the jungle seemed damned near stifling.
Darting his dark gold eyes around, he cursed under his breath, shaking out his scruffy fur. Did this gods forsaken mess of trees never end? He had been a fool to travel so deeply into this place last night. He had assumed that his unease would pass by morning, but he had been clearly mistaken. And now his passage toward last night's resting place had been disturbed by others, masking his scent and destroying his trail. He'd been barely older than a cub when he'd first left here; he remembered no landmarks to help him. And even if he did, the landscape could have changed dramatically with time. This meant he had nothing to go on to give himself a direction to head in so that he could escape this oppressive place. In other words, he was royally screwed, and probably going to be wandering around here for hours. Just lovely. Especially when he considered he could just be heading deeper into the jungle, instead of out of it... No, he didn't want to think of it that way. With a little shudder, he backtracked a few paces and diverted right a few steps, crouching down beside a clear pool of water to take a drink.

What Sitirika was unaware of was the petulent little youth that had been stealthily following the odd-coloured male. Unlike the other male, this little rascal hadn't left the jungle and despite the odd mis-placed paw now and then, he was very agile in the trees. He'd been following Sitirika for just a short while and was quite amused.
Aha! He was taking a drink. Perfect time for...
"Hello!" he beamed as he suddenly appeared in front of Sitirika.

Siti just wasn't used to things following him in such dense foliage. Out in open areas, he would have been much more at home and able to pick up on a stalker; here, he was sadly out of his depth. Hence, he did not know about Takilifu's presence until his loud, happy voice broke the stillness right in front of the already antsy and twitchy Sitirika.
The result, of course, was not a good one. He barely managed to clamp his jaws shut over a startled yowl, and jumped so much that he almost fell headfirst into the water in front of him. Now, normally Siti didn't mind a bath, but today he was not in the mood, and would have felt incredibly undignified if he'd fallen into one. He luckily managed to catch himself, though, and was spared the embarrassment of such an incident.
He fixed the smaller Takilifu with a reproachful look. "You know, you really shouldn't sneak up on anyone like that."

Takilifu had really hoped for the big splash he had all planned out in his head, but it was still good to see an adult male jump at the paws of a youngster like himself. And he was always prepared for the backlash, whether positive or negative.
"Awww, why not? There's never enough excitement in this place," he said with the air of a spoiled brat who tortured his servants for entertainment.

Any other time, any other place, Takilifu's attitude would not have bothered Sitirika in the slightest. He would have been able to casually shrug it off, even play up to the male's games to amuse himself in turn. Not now, though. He was feeling suffocated as it was, and didn't need some brat bouncing around and making it worse for him. Honestly, these youngsters really needed to learn how to respect their elders.
"Well, go and find someone else to entertain you," he said, glancing away from the other and looking around as if hoping for a convenient sign to pop up, directing him out of this horrid place. "I'm too busy to play with a youngster like you."

"Yeah, you look really busy," he snorted in sarcasm. "Busy getting lost."
Takilifu was enjoying this. He hopped back up into the nearby trees with a great show of agility and tact, quite a contrast to his mischievious attitude. Thinking himself like some kind of mythical spirit, he moved around, rambling about random things along the way, so that his voice came from many directions.
"What are you doing in the jungle anyhows?"

Sitirika decided to ignore the younger male's sarcastic comments. He didn't want to waste energy coming up with a satisfactory retort to that - especially since it was right. He wanted to put all focus on getting out of this damned place before the air got any harder to breathe.
But if there was one thing Sitirika hated, it was his actions and decisions being questioned. A life of forced independance could do that to anyone. And so his expression turned grumpy as he crouched to take a quick drink of water, and then moved away from where the lighter-coloured youngster had last stood, not caring for his little tricks, but knowing he was likely not going to get rid of this joker until said pest got bored. "And why is it suddenly your business why I'm here? I don't remember you owning this patch of trees last time I was here." That was all Takilifu would learn about his past, as far as Siti was concerned. He felt no need to share anything further with this irksome brat.

"Well, it ISN'T any of my business, but I know these jungles really well. If you need help, I can help you," he said, sliding out from the green foliage to Siti's left.
It wasn't normally in Taki's nature to offer help, at least so willingly. Normally, he'd have to be twisted into being chivalric, but he was a bit lonesome today. His fluffy tail flicked idly from side to side as he watched Siti for a reaction to his offer, or for another opportunity to have fun.
