The sun had just barely begun to set, dusty beams of sunlight trailing over the thick, black hide of the Energy Liger. It rumbled quietly, golden claws flexing into the soil beneath its feet. They were on the outskirts of the forest now, red eyes gleaming as both pilot and zoid sought out their next victim. After some ups and downs, they were functioning as a team once more, and the Liger was eager to test its strength yet again. Mordecai, however, was indifferent. A peaceful stroll, yes, that's what it was. A peaceful 345 km/h stroll. Eli was just having a peaceful stroll, that's all. Until the girl spotted a rather large, dark shape in her sights. A zoid? Well, one's thing for sure, it was definately bigger then her Breaker. I think.. that's a first... well, not that big.. but still... The grey-eyed girl pulled back on the controls lightly, letting the Breaker skate across the ground towards the unknown object. When it finally slowed down, she gasped. It seemed like a Liger, a very.. disturbing Liger. Beautiful in a way, but still.. it gave off this eerie feel that made shivers go down the girl's spine. She was almost afraid, but she didn't want to be rude, so the blue-haired girl opened up a com-link and politely said, "Hi." Crystal Breaker

The Liger rumbled menacingly at the approach of another zoid, immediately widening its stance. Lowering its head aggressively, the Liger was about to roar out a challenge--until Mordecai cut it off. Indigo eyes were narrowed sharply, one hand coming up to grip uncertainly at the side of his head. The Breaker was ignored completely, for the pilot's attention was rapt on the com link. Normally, Mordecai would hardly pay any attention to someone speaking to him, but then again, when was the last time he had seen a female pilot?
...A girl? She looked so...familiar. Like someone he used to know. Indigo eyes slid half-way shut, teeth gritted as memories began to throb painfully in the back of his head. Why? Why did she look familiar--who did she remind him of? And all at once, it hit him. Mother. His mother. The woman who had...Who he had...
The teenager screamed wordlessly, his hoarse voice cracking, both hands gripping either side of his head, desperately shoving the memories back. No--No! She was dead, he had killed her, it had been an accident, whywasshestillalive?! Sensing its pilot's inner conflict, the Energy Liger screamed in answer, its mechanical voice filled with hate and rage. The Hiblit suddenly flared with gleaming light, raking through the dusk, and without hesitation, the Liger shot towards the opposing zoid, head lowered, Mordecai unconsciously gripping the controls to push them forward, his features slack and empty.

Is that a guy.. or a girl? Came to her mind, thinking back to how androgenous her friend Lauren was. She took note of the person's shirt, and somewhat guessed guy for now.
The guy was staring at her strangely through the com-link, it almost.. frightened her. It was endurable... until he screamed. Eli felt herself through her body back and surprise, only to barely notice the flashes, the flashes of rounds after rounds impacting her zoid.
The rattling, oh the rattling was partially mind-numbing. She couldn't pull away, the guy wasn't even touching the controls when it happened! Eli pushed on the controls hard, getting out of the fire.. but it was too late. Her grey eyes quickly darted to the damage report given to her by the flaring red, 'Warning!' 'Warning!'
s**t s**t s**t.. this guy's going to kill me... The Breaker did a sharp turn with it's boosters, pushing an anchor into the ground and using it as a pivot. It faced it's opponent and growled, a powerful glow grew in it's mouth. The shine from it all lit up the holes in it's metalic body.
Best I can do.. is struggle to stay alive... And she fired, crossing her fingers that she would hit.

The Liger was in a frenzy now, like the blasts had only whipped it into action. Shaking itself furiously, the zoid charged straight through, oblivious to the damage, its paws ripping through the soil. Gathering its legs powerfully underneath it, the Energy Liger leapt into the air--and promptly snapped its wings open, the Double Pulsar Cannon firing thunderously at the Breaker, attacking with sheer ferocity while not taking the time to properly aim.

Eli's brows furrowed as she stared, the thing could fly. Something bigger, darker, seemingly more powerful.. can fly. Oh.. s**t... As if she thought it would pounce her, she already tried retreating, only to feel the hail of fire from the dark Liger. The red 'warnings' kept whining, as if she didn't know her zoid was dangling on a thread from being downed.
Can't be careful.. can't be caustious.. have to fight... Her eyes rolled back slightly, then rolled forth with a vivid look of focus. The Crystal Comet has taken over once again. The powered ego of Eli's pushed on the controls, turning the blue zoid to face it's opponent. The Breaker's maw began to glow again, and fired a beam of particles towards the crazed Liger.

Something had happened--the Liger could sense it, but what? The blast slammed into it hard enough to knock it out of the air, and the zoid bellowed with pain and hate. The sound was enough to jolt Mordecai back to reality--he could not lose! Not to his past, not to someone who he despised so very much...Eyes wild, Mordecai slammed on the thrusters, and the Liger lunged to its feet, the Hiblit charging once again.
Increasing its speed, the Energy Liger lowered its head, its claws, teeth, and eyes gleaming as it pushed itself as hard as it could, jaws parting in a silent scream as it did so. They were one now, of one mind, of one body.

The Breaker's body rattled violently with every pounding round the Hiblit pummeled into it. When the shots began to slow to a stop, the Crystal Breaker let out a low growl as it's metalic body slumped down. "Damm-it..." was all the pilot could muster, her entire body ached from the ratling of the Liger's weapon. The fight already took a lot out of her, and the Crystal Comet as well. Grey eyes began to close slightly as she saw the Energy Liger aproach. s**t...!
With strained movements, she opened a channel up to the opposing pilot while at the same time.. pressing a button... "My zoid is down.. stop attacking."

Statistics HP: 250 EP: 15 AM: 55 DF: 30 Weapons: Blades -AT: 75 - EP: 3 Alloy Teeth/Claws -AP: 60 -EP: 1 Tearing across the desert, Lauren ripped up clouds beyond clouds of dust and sand as she traveled at the top speeds her baby could run. Her jaw clenched, she shot towards the black monstrosity haunting over Eli’s Breaker, alloy claws outstretched , ready to tear apart the great lion. ((New EP = 14 55+60= 115 115-80 = 35 Your new HP: 65)) The BP roared, attaching itself to the King's jugular, or where a real lion's wind pipe would be, with it's teeth, clawing, and tearing at it, as it tried to knock the massive beast over.

Her words fell on deaf ears--The Energy Liger roared at the sight of its downed opponent and promptly spread its wings. The Hiblit stopped firing, but now it looked as though the enraged zoid was going to spear the Breaker with its formidable horn. Realizing that someone else was in its way, had stolen its kill, the Liger went berserk. The Saix had fallen upon it, slashing viciously, forcing the Liger to back off with a startled roar of surprise. Struggling furiously to rid itself of the unwanted parasite, the Liger opened fire with the Double Pulsar Cannon, blasting the Saix furiously and bellowing with rage.

"********, ********, s**t!" Growed the girl-thing, yanking back her Zoid to jump off of his as a spray of bullets hailed the underbelly of her baby. She zoomed off in a somewhat slower pace, limping from the internal wounds the cartridge shells created. With loud, quick clicks, twin yellow blades deployed on either side of the BP as she turned to charge the enemy Zoid.

The blades sliced into the Liger, and it bellowed with pain. With no energy left to charge its claws, it was uselessly. Spinning around, the Liger shot towards the enemy zoid, putting all of its remaining power and speed into a final lunge, claws extended, simply going to ram the other with all its might. It refused to go down--it would not lose, no matter how many opponents they brought up against it!

The Energy Liger sent the Saix flying into the air like it was a rag doll, landing some odd feet with a most satisfying thud, one would think. The BP let out a sharp whimpering sound as Lauren struggled to get the Zoid int a standing position, as well as to regain control of herself. Her consciousness threatening to fall into a state of concussion. "Not yet..." she mumbled, "we almost have it down." One last charge she promised herself, lancing out towards the lion once more, teeth and claws bared as her babe let out one hellish scream.

The Liger was slammed into, and, snapping its teeth at the Saix one last time, it went down hard. It was shot, done for, gone. It howled before its head sagged limply in the sand, the fire in its eyes flickering and going out. And Mordecai was plunged into darkness. For a moment, he was silent, the only sound being his ragged panting of stunned disbelief. And then he snapped. His body rammed itself uselessly against the restraints, hands and feet lashing out at nothing--everything. No, no, he wouldn't let himself die, wouldn't accept it, couldn't accept it--Mordecai wasn't aware that he had cried out again, hating those two zoids, hating their pilots, not understanding why the Liger wouldn't get up again, why it was no longer speaking to him. Mordecai went silent without a word, and alone, he thrashed in the darkness, gripping at his head now that there was nothing to stop the memories from coming back.

The BP skidded to a stop, haulting itself suddenly as Lauren threw herself from the cockpit, slidding on the sand as she landed a few meters below. She no longer concerned herself with her slight head injury, all that mattered was to beat the s**t out of whoever the pilot of this Energy Liger was. Stomping in her steal toe boots, the redwood eye'd girl pounded on the Lion's red eyes.
"GET YOUR a** OUT NOW AND MAYBE I WON'T BREAK BOTH YOUR ARMS!"
