-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-
I'm an art major currently taking Fashion in high school. At the moment we're working on bathing suits, and me being all at once "OMFGILOVEG-LOL!", I wanted to make a loli-suit (lolita+bathing suit).
But then I suddenly realized that I have yet to see ONE bathing suit in a gothic loli-store. I think that there'd be at least ONE Lolita who loves to swim, or even just float in the pool water.
So, question:
What kind of bathing suit would YOU like to wear as a loli? One-piece, tankini? Maybe a bikini with some sort of camisole over it or something? What kind of material would it be made out of? Please give me some suggestions!

Baby the Stars Shine Bright has swimsuits!! I think they are so adorable, I wish I could get one!!!
I know I've seen them on the site before, but I don't see them now. Probably because it was a summer thing.
But they were so cute! I saw them in one of my bibles, I'll see if I can find it...

I think Meta had swim suits. I personally prefer two piece swim suits to onepiece ones. I would wear something that had a tank-like top with ruffles around the neckline and arm holes, and a skirt bottom piece.
Or, maybe for the bottoms, mid thigh shorts, with a tiny ruffle on the bottom, and then the top is really long, and ends about 4 inches above the bottom of the shorts. Maybe I'll take a break from packing and sewing, and sketch some stuff.
I also like old bathing suits that were basically wool bloomers and a wool dress over the top, but that would be too heavy and scratchy to swim in. It would be better in cotton as a beach outfit, instead.

A square neckline that goes down to right above the breast area but below the collar bone. Water compatable material at all times for this! Something that is light but stretchy and has a sorta silky feel to it. Ruffled material coming out of the neckline all around the neckline from front to back. Add three quarter sleeves to it with ruffles at the end of them. This is a one piece. Then a jumper dress skirt coming out of from underneath the neckline ruffles and coming short enough to show some of the crotch material at the bottom. Add some bows here and there. Come up with some color coordination for the outfit.

Aw, well i actually designed a Lolita swimsuit last year in my fashion Class at my highschool.
It was quite lovely, but i made it for my little sister becuase i hate strechy materials.
My teacher currently has the suit since alot of my work is kept with her, but i can show you the designs.
Good luck my dear. [[I as well am a Fashion Major in highschool still, but my school only offers one year, two semester classes for Fashion cry ]]

I'm not at making clothes. I took fashion two years ago in my first high school year but then all the popular people came over and took over it and now its all crappy >.> I'm getting lessons from my nana and friends.
I would wear one that had a square neckline, one piece with a little skirt embroided with lace ^^
You can laways wear light loli-topd over the swinsuit if you aren't going to swim or aren't at the time. Sun bathing suit hehehe...

Ah, here's a picture of a bathing suit. I don't know if this is victorian era, or not.

Mae! Our dresses match!
Lacey, (um...I hope it's okay to call you that.) I agree with you about being careful with that design. I just though it was a good inspiration pic. I hate getting burned, but unless my shoulders are covered, I never fail to burn. >.<
