I enjoy the EGL style a lot, but I'm too tall to pull it off cutely, so it has kind of become my mission to learn how to sew so that I can sew up pretty dresses for my daughter. My fiance and I argue about it a bit, but overall, as long as I don't dress our son in kadona (I think thats the right term, correct me if I'm wrong), he's okay with it too.
I don't know. Am I strange for wanting to dress my daughter like this?
( These are some of the dresses I'm learning to sew now: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 )

I think it's an adorable idea and I fully plan on doing the same thing with my children. ^-^ Besides which, most fancier little girls clothes look like they could easily be Lolita. I doubt anyone would make a fuss, other than squealing shrilly about how cute they are. XP

Well... no. I think it would be insanely cute, but... but... wait until she can eat neatly, and save the clothes for special occasions where she won't be running around shrieking and getting dirt on her Alice bow and thirty dollar socks.

I think it's fine for little girls to be dressed like that. I was just designing loli clothes for toddlers and little girls.
How old is your daughter?

Well, first of all, I don't have a daughter... sweatdrop (I'm not even married yet)
But if she's anything like me, I doubt she'll have objections. Or messy eating habits.

I want to dress up both my kids (once I have them) as soon as I possibly can, I'm just worried about them ruining their outfits. Now whether what I want them to wear would be considered Japanese or not, I don't know. Either way though I see no reason why it should be a problem. The only thing I'm afraid of is them being teased at school before they learn about being comfortable with themselves.

I think it's really cute that you want to do so and I don't see anything wrong in doing it, since I want my future kids to dress like that too. However what it worries me is the fact that maybe if you dress them like that eventually they might hate to dress like that.
Still I keep my point, if they look cute and you are sure they won't ruin them or that they will try to take it off then it's a good idea!
I wish my mom was like that when I was a little girl, still she did dressed me in cute little doll-like dresses. 4laugh
