Ice blue eyes traveled over teh grassed areas of the Pridelands. Since their departure from Kami, he wandered off for only a moment, to look for something that he still couldn't find. It upset him, he wished to find it, but didn't know if Ruffian would feel awkward about him finding such a thing he hadn't seen since he was a cub.
Daemon continued along, his white form standing out from teh mass green as his eyes searched the area, nothing that was what he searched for. Ah well, he was not only searching for something of the past, but for that of the future, a den spot, hopefully that he and Ruffian would share. She said that she ould stay, which made him feel warm, but he wanted her to stay here, with him, not alone or with someone else. Just him.
He sighed and looked a bit forward and to the right, eyes widening...was it? He began to pad faster towards it, keeping low, he appeared as if he was stalking something, or trying to not let others know where he was going. Where was Ruffian? Maybe she was nearby, oh well, he had to see if this was it.
And it was.
As he got closer, he stepped into the indent of the earth, the water had dried up here, grass no longer growing tall and green, tan tufts of dried stalks were all that remained. Most of it was buried it seemed, perhaps there had been a flood. His ears fell back, he set himself onto the ground and put his paw on the stone he would always remember, he said nothing, only remembered.
He wouldn't be able to stay here long. What would Ruffian say if she saw him here?

Ruffian had noticed that Daemon had left her side after they had parted from the Queen. It irritated her, for him to just up and leave her after doing such a big favor for him. It made her back itch just thinking about it; and that wasn't a comfortable feeling at all.
She had begun to wander the lands, wondering if she would find Daemon again. She didn't like to be alone in these strange lands, with strange lions, and as such wanted to find him. It didn't take too long for her to catch his scent, for the winds were nearly non-existant on this day.
Since she had caught his scent, it had taken some time for her to really find where he was. She wasn't sure where she was quite going though, and thus walked carefully through the strange lands. Just where was he?

Daemon was still in the same spot, for some reason he felt like someone was watching from afar, getting closer every second. He hoped it was Ruffian, but then again he did not. He was angry at himself for leaving so abruptly, but he wasn't sure if she would understand. Ruffian had helped him so much, but he had already screwed things up. "I wonder if she would understand...not be as angry at me if she knew why I came..."
He was a mass of white standing out against the green surroundings from where the grass dried up here, he was so much bigger then before when he was here so long ago. Daemon shifted himself and stood up now, head looking down, eyes upon the rock, and he reached out to touch it again, closing his eyes, "I wonder if there was anything I could've done...I never knew you, I'm sorry...I failed mom too as I failed you before..."
Daemon knew he was supposed to be big and strong, but now he was acting too soft for his liking, but he couldn't pull himself away from where he stood. He wanted to snap back into reality, but invisible strings of guilt held him in place.

Ruffian's nose twitched as she caught a stronger scent of Daemon. She stood where she was, eyeing the lands that were her companion's home. And hers, in a way. Such an awkward feeling, though.
"Are you there, Daemon?" Her voice was a little cautious and slow, as she wasn't certain if it really was him. She couldn't quite see his white coat, and just took it as either a rock, or some strange animal...or something. Mainly because it wasn't really moving while she was looking at it.

Still lost in memories, still lost. He never knew her, she never knew him, she never got to know the world, not at all. He blamed himself, always blamed himself, perhaps they could've switched, she could've been where he was, instead of having him look down at this spot.
Daemon heard a voice, stood up and looked around. Ruffian was here, he sighed, he felt a bit lighter, "Yes Ruffian, here..." he looked towards her, flicked his tail adn looked down again. He remembered one thing that was forever in his mind;
He never said good-bye.
He never let go it it.
"I was just...well, visiting something..." someone rather, but he couldn't say it yet, not just yet.

Once Daemon had perked up and looked around, Ruffian finally caught sight of where he was. Finally. Brute just always had to hide from her. Did he want her to get frusterated or something?
She sighed as she slowly padded up next to him, still feeling a little frusterated. It would pass, though. "Took me long enough to find you." She said, without much are or aware of what just was going on. He never really said anything to her about these lands, besides stories of his mother and such.

Daemon offered her a smile and then smirked, "Sorry about that, I forgot to do something when I first got here..." he looked to the rock from the corner of his eye, then looked away from it, "I wanted to make sure I didn't forget about it." He flicked his tail and took a step closer to Ruffian and smiled.
He tried to think of a way to hide what he was actually doing. "How do you like it here so far? We should find somewhere to den soon, I can show you around to different places too if you'd like," he said with a nod.

Ruffian was curious. A rock? What could be so special about a rock? She knew him too well that if she said it wrong, it could turn into some spat, and she just didn't feel like getting into that right now.
She gave a very common swish of her tail, eyeing Daemon carefully. A den? "Umm, I guess so. We should have a safe place to sleep." Even though she was now a member of a pride, old habits would die hard, and she definately wanted a place that she would feel comfortable sleeping in.

Daemon smiled and nodded, glanced about the area. "Well, we could den near others, but we can also den away from others to be sort of secluded," perhaps that would be best until they got used to being in a pride again. In a rather large pride. Daemon was glad to be home, but still felt a bit out of place, he also wanted Ruffian to be happy.
She was so different, it intrigued him.
His sister would've liked her. "Perhaps a bit...that way?" he asked pointing with his paw, "This area holds...an unhappy memory for me, perhaps a bit farther, nearer to the water hole." he knew he was speaking strange, it was just hard for him to address or think about sometimes. "She would've liked you you know..." he said taking a few steps, then waiting for her, "My sister."

Ruffian's ears swiveled around as she kept glancing at the areas that Daemon kept pointing out. "Faurther away would be better," she said, not really understanding what his problem was. What the heck?
Unhappy memories. She could understand that, and agreed to move on. Not like she felt any attachment to this section of the lands. It was her first time being out here.
"Why is that?" She asked, snorting slightly. She wanted to add onto her statement, but he was refering to her in past-tense...so perhaps she was gone too. She picked up her feet and started to follow Daemon, feeling a little irritated that he seemed so full of sorrow. It was his choice to come back here, wasn't it?

"You're so...different, in a good way, she would've liked it, would've wanted to be your friend," he said with a nod, a smile on his maw again, true, thinking of his sister sometimes saddened him but, on the other hand, remembering her made him want to have a good life, to live it to the fullest in her memory.
Daemon peered around and flicked his tail, where to go? There were some smaller rock formations ahead, perhaps some of them together might have formed a den like space, they could always check. "There might be good, far enough away, though close enough to water, what do you think?"
He wanted her to be happy, he wanted Ruffian to feel like she could have...no, she had a place here now.

Before answering him, Ruffian took a deep sniff of the air, her eyes closing to help concentrate on her nose. She wanted it to feel right, and not just settle. If she was going to live in one spot, it better be a good one.
She flicked her tail, slowly opened her eyes, and glanced at Daemon. "Yes, this will be fine if they form a cave." She wasn't sure just what Daemon had in store for the two of them, but even if she didn't like the cave very much, she could always spend a lot of time away from it. The Pridelands were pretty big, anyway.

He nodded, and that settled that, he began to head towards the rock formation, making sure to not go too fast to have Ruffian be behind him, he would rather walk side by side with her. It felt so strange yet so good to be home again, he wished he could make up for all the time he lost long ago, he would try to anyway.
Daemon would try to live his life in hopes that his mother and sister would smile down at him within the rays of the Prideland sun.
As they got closer, Daemon padded ahead a few steps to look around the rocks. Strange no one had come to this place before, perhaps others wished to be around more then be secluded to themselves, but this would be perfect for Ruffian...well, for them. Though Daemon wasn't sure if Ruffian would want him to stay outside or inside.
"What do you think?"

Ruffian avoided eye contact with him, her neck craining a bit to get a real look at the area. It wasn't small, certainly, a little roomy for the two of them, but better then it being too small. Especially since she had already agreed to live here.
She lightly flushed but kept her head turned for her cheeks to cool down before she moved back to look at Daemon.
"Roomy, but that's better then too small." She swished her tail behind her, a normal quirk that popped up when she started to feel a little relaxed. "Though I'm sure it will work out well enough. You?"

Daemon smiled, inside he smirked, least she liked it, that was alright. "It is roomy, more roomy whether you decide where I should be," he flicked his tail, he wanted her to be comfortable, and not feel like she was closed in with others around her. He wasn't sure if she would want him inside at this point...
Though he would rather be inside with her...all the time.
He kept that to himself however, and elaborated on what he was trying to say, "I mean, if you want to stay inside, I can stay outside if you want," sort of like a guard? No, Ruffian needed no guarding, she was strong he knew that...but then again, if any other males approached her...he might have to guard her.
