Shiri spent far too much of her youth debating why her parents had left her to fend for herself. Not even a single memory of her past could be remembered and for hours on end, Shiri would stare up at the stars in hope that one day she would be answered. What reason would the Gods have to tear her from her loved ones' grasp? Or did the Gods simply watch as her parents left her on their own accord.
Silent tears slid down the adult lioness' cheek as she thought on the same topic that haunted her for years. Perhaps it was time for her to give up her quest and simply begin a life of her own. Despite her clear attempts to get away from those around her, she had met wonderful creatures throughout the savannah and had many lasting conversations. A few of those clearly stood out to her: Jini, the timid male pridelander, Chuakari, the playful cheetah and Gharadi, the one who reminded her so much of herself as a cub.
With the much more pleasing thoughts of those closest to her, Shiri was able to dry her eyes and finally smile. Lime green eyes stared up to the night sky as she released a short sigh. "I thank you for watching over me..." she whispered into the stars, glad to know that at least the Gods kept her alive during her life.

He had been able to get away from his mother this night, he peered up at the stars, watch them sparkle against the night sky. His heart warmed, so beautiful, he was a softy inside yes, though he wanted to get stronger over time. So much stronger, so that his mother and sister would be proud, and others might respect him as well. Gharadi had a few friends, some meant more then others. Shiri, the lioness he had met before stood out in his mind sometimes among the rest.
Gharadi had grown a bit since he had last seen her, still small, but no longer a cub any longer. His muscles were growing, his mane getting fuller. How long would it be now until he would be an adolescent? He hoped it wouldn't be long, he wanted to get bigger so that perhaps he could make more friends. See the world, have a family someday. Pfft, yes, he was young and already thinking of his future.
He continued along through teh grass, slightly dampened with dew, his hazel eyes peering up at the stars, he wondered who looked down at him from up there. Gharadi had heard stories, stories of kings of the past in the stars, had heard stories of gods and goddess' that showed themselves in the night air. Perhaps he might see one tonight.

More comfortable now, with her thoughts, the lioness' form began to become more at ease as it lowered closer to the ground. It seemed every moment she even attempted to think of her parents, her body would become tense and ridgid, as though she feared a sudden answer to be thrown at her. Shiri was opening up much more than she had in the past, but she would always keep herself at a slight distance. There were be a part of her that would always worry about becoming hurt again, or left alone. So pleased with the changes she had already made in her life, the lioness never even tried to convince herself that there would be a time in which her distance would vanish.
No longer lost in her thoughts, Shiri allowed herself to admire the beautiful scenery around her. The night sky had always brought the female peace and now was so different. As she smiled, quietly to herself, she heard a soft sound coming from nearby. Turning her head in order to get a better look, she noticed an intricate fur pattern, one that appeared incredibly familiar. As she cocked her head to inspect the pattern further, she couldn't help but smile broadly. Gharadi! The name had appeared in her mind more quickly than her brain connected both his appearance and scent.
Lifting her form, Shiri began towards Gharadi, thrilled to see the face of someone she knew of. As she neared, she noticed that, like her, he had grown and become much more mature appearing. His form was thicker and he had already begun to grow a mane. With a light laugh, the female's smile did not fade. It would be a pleasure to hear the dreams of the young male and Shiri was eager to learn whether or not the male still felt the same as he had when he was much younger.

Gharadi looked up, saw a golden striped figure. Slim, larger, but...was it? It was! "Shiri!" Gharadi called and padded towards her quickly, almost like a run, but he didn't want to trip over anything hidden by the night's shadows. As he got closer he stopped, sat back, and smiled. His 'mane' fell over his eyes somewhat, but he kept them focused on her.
It had been way too long.
"How have you been Shiri? I've missed you...grown I see, you look very pretty," Gharadi said with a nod and a smile. Yes, she was quite pretty tonight, Gharadi was turning into a gentleman, even at such a young age.

Shiri felt her cheeks burn red at the sudden yelling of her name. She, of course, had not been meaning to remain hidden, but it was pleasing to hear the happy tone that came with her name. Padding towards the male at a quicker speed, the two quickly met before one another. Laughter escaped the newly grown adult's mouth as she took a short bow of respect towards the younger male. "Gharadi! It is a pleasure to see you, of all lions, tonight!" Her voice gave away her clear happiness.
Hearing that the younger male had also thought of her was increasing her mood tenfold. Clearly she was not just another lioness and had imprinted his mind as he had hers. Leaning forward, she offered a friendly nuzzle to show that she had also missed him. "Pretty?" Shiri questioned, having not been complimented much in her younger life. The word caused her cheeks to become even brighter and quickly she tried to change the conversation, "Gharadi! You have become so handsome! I see you have a nice mane growing!" She teased. It was strange to see that the small cub she had first met already grew so much larger!

Gharadi smiled and he blushed and turned his head a bit to try and hide it. He puffed his chest out though to try and make her laugh, and did a little strut as well, he stopped and started laughing, shaking his head in the night air. So cool! It was a nice change from the hot days.
"You seem so well Shiri! Do tell me what has happened with you since we last met," he said with a nod. Surely Shiri had some nice stories to tell of places she had been or lions she had met. Surely much more interesting then anything he had done the last time he had seen his friend.
This night was going quite well from how Gharadi had initially predicted it would be.

As Gharadi had aimed for, Shiri did indeed laugh out as the male began to prance about. She giggled even more as his puffed out chest quickly led to an awkward strut. Certainly the male had been doing some growing up! He was already becoming an incredibly handsome young male!
After his question, however, Shiri wondered if anything incredibly exciting had happened to her. She had met many lions and a few cheetahs during her life, but what had happened since she last spoke to Gharadi? With a smile, she began to speak, thinking it over as she did so, "Well.. I met up with an old friend who has grown so large now! Nearly an adult by now! He's a pridelander and his name is Jini. He's much more shy than you." At the thought of the incredibly shy lion, Shiri laughed again, "But other than that, I can't think of too much. The life of a rogue is both exciting and boring at once.."
Lifting her head, the lioness allowed the cool breeze to blow through her coat. After the heated days, it was always pleasant to enjoy the night air. "I am thrilled to have bumped into you again! How have you been?"

Gharadi smiled, flicked his tail. So she met up with an old friend? That was good! Perhaps she knew the other from when they were little, must have been quite a reunion. He was happy for her, that she met up with someone from perhaps long ago.
"I have been well, missing my sister, I may go back and visit her again, I miss home..." home was where he was born, not out here where he was wandering. He liked the rogue life yes, but he loved his sister more then he loved this life.
"I might go back but...I don't know yet...such a big decision.." he knew of the traditions, but didn't know if he would be welcomed back after leaving for so long. Least he could visit his sister from time to time, that was nice.

It was both relieving and somewhat awkward to tell Gharadi of her recent encounter with her old friend. She hoped the young male wouldn't become jealous and know that her reunion with him meant just as much to her!
Torn from her current feeling, Shiri was saddened to hear of Gharadi missing his home. It was not that Shiri wished Gharadi was pleased with the rogue life, but more so that she wished she had family to miss. The mentioning of both his home and sister had Shiri's fur standing on end slightly, though she kept her ears erect and tried not to let on that she was uncomfortable. "I don't blame you at all, though i'm certain you could easily find your way back to them.."
At the thought of Gharadi returning to his home, Shiri smiled. Despite her selfish feelings she was happy for her friend. He deserved a place to belong. Having never brought it up in the past, Shiri asked, "..How is it a big decision? Aren't you welcome to come and go?"

Gharadi tried to make sense of it in his head before speaking, "They have traditions...certain ones, at one point, adolescents must leave to 'find their real name' so I fear if I go back, my sister might have already gone," his ears folded back and he sighed.
Perhaps he never should've left.
But then again, he loved spending time with his mother dearly.
"I'm not really sure what to do..." Gharadi then peered at her smiling, "What about you, are you going to find your friend again soon?"

Shiri cocked her head to the side as Gharadi explained the certain culture of his own family. She had heard of prides having their own ways, but had never heard exactly what these certain ways may have been. With a faint smile, she couldn't help but chuckle lightly. The idea of sending someone off in search of their name seemed silly to her. She hoped her friend wouldn't think too harshly of her laughter.
Clearing her throat once Gharadi asked her a question, she looked off towards the distance. Other than speaking about Jini, Shiri did not think too much of her friend. The one that remained in her mind was Chuakari, her dear cheetah friend. When was the last time they had seen one another?
A short silence came between the two and Shiri's expression faded into one of slight sadness. Snapping back into reality after a short moment, the lioness smiled, "oh. Umm.. I suppose i'll find him again. It hasn't been too long since we last saw one another."

Gharadi smiled though her slight laughter made him pout in his mind. Ah well, everyone was entitled to their own opinions about customs and traditions of other prides. He had his own, he wasn't too sure if she had any of her own. It was becoming later, Gharadi yawned a bit. His mother might get angry if he stayed out too late again, what would be worse is if his mother found him with Shiri, she might yell at his friend like his mother did with his other friend.
He sighed, sometimes things didn't work out rather well.
"It's good that you saw him recently though, I need to search out my friends soon, but Shiri, I have to head home, I'm a bit tired from today...I'm sorry," he felt bad he had to leave, but he was indeed tired.
He'd see her again he was sure of it.

Shiri felt her ears flatten when she heard news of her friend announcing his departure. When he mentioned his mother getting upset, Shiri's expression became a strange one. Perhaps without a mother she had been given much more freedom than she ever could have imagined. For the first time in her life, she saw a benefit to living on her own. The lonesome nights would never be worth this freedom, but for once she could see something good had come out of it.
With a light smile, she nodded and was more willing to accept the fact that he had to go. When she was younger, she would have been the one to make up some reason to side step away from any time of confrontation, good or bad. Now, Shiri was the one almost asking for the other to stay. Gharadi was one of her dearest friends and he brought a sort of comfort into her life.
"I understand. We wouldn't want your mother to become upset with you..." Her voice trailed off and she glanced away, "I do hope we see one another soon."

Gharadi offered a smile, he'd search out Shiri again, perhaps even then she might meet her friend she spoke of. That'd be nice. Gharadi had many things swirling around in his mind, he was getting older now, he wished to venture out on his own sometimes, but he did love his mother dearly, and did not want to leave her alone out here.
He'd never forgive himself if anything ever happened to her because he left.
"I'll come find you," he said with a nod, a reassuring smile, he didn't want her to be sad, not at all. He flicked his tail and looked to where he had come from, then back to Shiri. Should he stay? He wasn't sure, he might be intruding if Shiri meant to go find her friend again.
He'd come find her again, he would make sure.
"Maybe next time I can meet your friend, maybe then I'll have more of a mane," he said with a laugh, putting a paw to the top of his head. Yes, more of a mane would make him more of a lion..maybe.
"Bye Shiri..." he said in a softer tone, he didn't want to say it, but had to. With that he turned, gathered himself and padded back towards his mother.
He'd come back and find Shiri again...he'd make sure.
((Fin? ^^ I'd love to have them rp again sometime 83))

Even as he was leaving, Gharadi still made Shiri smile and laugh at the idea of him growing a mane. Since their last meeting, Gharadi had already grown quite a bit! It would not surprise Shiri if he did, indeed have a full head of thick hair in a few days! Letting out a light laugh, she offered him one last nuzzle for his departure, "Remember! You said you'd find me again! Don't let it be too long from now!"
Shiri smiled as she watched Gharadi head off into the distance. It was so pleasant to have finally found some close friends to keep herself company with. It was a shame that Shiri still kept herself at a distance, even with her friends. It would not be expected that the female change herself entirely though, despite her desire to do so.
