[Main banner] Questing since May, 2005 The thread for my original quest, based on Anansi
This is the thread for my quest for a fa'e, made by Anya! XD. Why quest for a Fa'e? Because since I first started Gaia, I stumbled into the Breedables forum and the first shop I looked at was the Fa'e, and I immediately fell in love. Ever since then I've always wanted a Fa'e, but I never really though about doing anything to try and get one till I saw a friend's quest thread.
Been questing over four years, still goin' strong!
UPDATE I have decided, upon consideration, to choose a new mythbase.
You can find the Fa'e here: Fa'e HQ Post Contents: 1st Post: Welcome 2nd Post: The Fa'e 3rd Post: The myth 4th Post: The dream 5th Post: The Fa'e(Lost Child) 6th Post: Resources 7th Post: Reserved 8th Post: Reserved 9th Post: ReservedPERIOD OF EVENTSMay 13th, 2005 - Created my quest thread, and got my ideas organizedNovember 30th, 2006 - Completely revamp of the quest. Picked a new mythbase, though Reltharri has gone into the records for some sort of future use.March 14th, 2008 - The Fa'e Concept for Dante, Lord of Dance has been officially approved whee kalindara Guardian info and Rebirth history have been added. The Fa'e *Same bio for lost child. World description in posts below* Given Name: Dante Legend: Duke/General Agares, Demon of Courage/Deposed angel of Order of Virtues Legend Base: Christian demonology Alignment: Chaotic neutral. Warring angel/demon sides. Gender: Male GENERALPersonality: Can be very proud. Friendly enough, can be stand-offish, shy sometimes. Prefers small groups. Paranoid of people lying. Friendly/open with those he trusts. Loyal to a fault. Critical thinker, stubborn sometimes. Trustworthy, intelligent, eager to learn. Defensive over what he likes. Respects beauty, adores dance. Likes teaching. In general, Dante is an intelligent person, with a friendly enough attitude, though he can be somewhat rude at times because of his bluntness. He keeps himself slightly apart from others, preferring to not let people get too close to him. All around very paranoid about whether people are really being honest, trust issues are common with him. He's wary of new people until he's known them for a certain period of time, or until they prove themselves in some way or another that could possibly impress Dante. And as far as other angels and demons go, he tries to avoid them all together. Demons, he's incredibly paranoid about. He'll have cordial conversations with one, but he'll leave as soon as politely possible. Angels, though? He'll be in a cold sweat and probably suppressing shivers. Not very high on his "favorites" list. His stomach in particular will clamp up when near an angel, though he can't for the life of him explain why. Once a person is close to him, though, it's like a flower blossoming. He's more outgoing, with a sarcastic sense of humor and a crooked smile, he can be a devoted and trustworthy friend or compatriot, loyal to a fault and perfectly happy to jump into a fight if they need it. When Dante has people he likes, he'll do whatever he can to always have someone near him; he's always jittery and jumpy when alone, and so can seem a little bit clingy possibly, underneath smooth excuses and reasons for why someone should come see him or vice versa. If someone breaks his trust though, he's not so forgiving, as he isn't inclined to "second chances"(As ironic as that may be.) His random mood swings can push his friendships, though; he'll flip flop from amused to sour very easily, and when he's in a bad mood, his jokes take on more offensive edges, he snaps at people, etc. He's well aware of the fact, and attempts to control it, but can't always help it, almost as if something more evil wants to slip through to his head. For a demon, he doesn't have much of a temper, though he can get agitated easily depending on his mood. When he gets angry, he plans and plots, and gets back when it's least expected, at the point when the original issue was more then likely forgotten. Or, he'll go and mope in a corner till he gets over it; he can act immature when he's angry, and depending on the person may resort to petty ways of getting back. When he's down right furious, though, it'd be best to stay away. If one can get him angry enough, he'll lose it pretty much. Best avoided at all costs. As far as fighting goes, Dante won't generally start them unless really riled up or if it involves a friend, but he won't back down if he's roped into one. Unless it's about something personal, he generally just ignores the antagonist. Dante isn't exactly a coward, despite his dislike of pain; he won't run unless the odds are totally against him, he just finds confrontations to be fairly pointless. He has pride, but he doesn't believe in wasting energy unless there's some sort of vendetta to settle. Large, violent groups will also make him more inclined to take off. Dante likes to be in positions of power, having a knack for leading people and turning out good results. When he has a superior, he will do whatever he can to complete whatever task is assigned to him, as best he can, and he full well expects whatever underlings are beneath him to do so as well. Dante expects utter loyalty from his comrades and minions, and views those who aren't as traitors. For them to betray their "king" would be an ultimate dishonor. His passion, though, is dance and language. He loves the smoothness of speech, how words translate across barriers and change with different cultures; they absolutely captivate him. Dante's dance, though, that is his ultimate love. The movements and beats of the people and the music, the fast tempos, the slow melodies, they all thrill him in a way nothing else does. Dante strives to become a master dancer, and loves showing people how to learn, teaching being the one surefire way to pull him out of his shell around strangers. He is constantly on the lookout for the perfect dance partner, the woman with the intuitiveness needed for dance. Not too big on the whole "romance," thing, he still has an appreciation for beauty. He's not one to go actively seeking out a romantic partner, it's simply not of great concern to him. While Dante doesn't dislike crushes and dating and such, he'd rather it find him then he go hunting. He would much prefer hunting for the perfect dance partner, which will probably be what starts him wanting a relationship. [At some point I'm thinking to have some sort of personality change as he goes to youth or adult. More evil, sadistic, losing some of the compassion, becoming a "true demon," etc. Possibility, still figuring this out.] Likes: |-| Dance|-| Languages|-| Birds and reptiles|-| CleanlinessDislikes/Fears:|-| Large groups |-| Cold|-| Angels|-| PainPowers: |-| Compulsion: Can stop any motion. Can force those around him to dance, can't control them beyond that. |-| Earthquakes: Can cause small scale earthquakes; larger ones come with time. Has very little to no control until older. |-| Courage/Fear: He can make someone feel brave or cowardly. Dante would have very little control over this till he's older. |-| Bird Sight: He can see through the eyes of a bird; the bird must be bonded to him, and can only bond to one. |-| Languages: Has a strong aptitude for languages. Learns them quickly. |-| Miracle: A power leftover from being an Angel of Virtue, a miracle worker. He can make one "miracle," basically save one life, but he has no control over it. For him to trigger it, he has to be feeling extreme love for that person; once it's been used, the power is gone forever, and the wing-marks on his back also disappear. |-| Flexibility: Not so much a power as just a capability. Weaknesses:|-| Angels: Dante is terrified around angels, though he refuses to admit it. It can get to the point where he can't even use his powers, because he can't concentrate enough to do so. He essentially has hysterics until he is way away from them. |-| Stomach: His stomach is a sore spot, the scars there making it hurt much more then normal for him to get hit there. It cramps and pains him when near an angel |-| Claustrophobic: He gets jumpy when in small spaces, liking to have a way out of things if something were to happen; very paranoid when he has no room to move. |-| Compulsion: In the case of stopping motion, this doesn't always work. He can stop motion only if he is either concentrating, or if he's under extreme emotions, like severe anger or something. For making one dance, one can resist if they have a strong will. Appearance: His appearance isn't particularly important, and my only idea of him is dark skin and light hair, slender yet muscled, and demonic features. On his belly are a series of faded scars left over from the angels' weapons, and on his upper back are two silver markings of wings, as a reminder that Agares was originally an angel of the order of Virtues. Clothing: His clothing style is very modern, with nothing particularly notable. Comfortable stuff in varying colors, things that would be easy to move around in but that also don't look too messy. Usually wears flipflops or sandals, dislikes sneakers and will deviate to dance shoes sometimes. He wears a small number of jewelry, two piercings in each ear being the only constants. Lost Child clothing is fairly similar, as his world is closely parallel to ours. Other: Nothing Art/References: 1 - 2 - 3 (Miku-kins) - 4 (geekpower) - 5(Silverah) - 6(Asi-kun) - 7(Anya! xD)The schizztastic art above by Chirigami

The Myth NOTE
As there is never much story behind christian demonology, alot of this is me taking liberties with a good deal of consultation from Kalindara, in order for my Hell to match with that of Roth's 3nodding
Every source I have located says basically the same exact things, so alot of this, again, is me taking liberties and hoping the mythbase works well enough to found Dante on. So please bear with me, or if you have any suggestions, please voice them! =)
------
Several thousand years ago, in the deepest bowels of Hell, there ruled the demon king Beleth.. Beleth was a strict ruler, trusting of none but a select few demons, his everpresent second in command, Beelzebub, and his four generals; Gaap, Agares, Ipos, and Naberius.
His Generals made a good team, their talents and knowledge complementing each other. Gaap, with his spells of invisibility and capability of transporting himself and many others to wherever he wanted. Ipos, who could make a person smarter and see into the past, present, and future, almost anywhere he wanted. Agares, the self styled "lord of dance," with his talent for making men flee in fright or cowards come back with renewed courage, with his power to destroy a man's dignity, and his inner knowledge of some of Heaven's workings( being a former Angel of Virtue, a miracle worker, banished and cursed to be a demon). And finally, Naberius, Agares' less kindly counterpart, master of Hell's spies, who would restore then mens' dignity once Agares was through with them.
All in all, his Generals worked well together, working to support their King, who, wise as he might be, needed all the help he could get. With the angelic raids constantly battering Hell's gates, and his definite taste for blood, Beleth was a notable King of Hell. Brutal and to the point, he had no sense of mercy, leaving that to the weaker demons; he immediately dealt with dissenters and rebels, and was brutal with captured angels.
Which was why his Generals stood by him. They understood a need for brutality, but sometimes there was such a thing as too much. Especially to one of his Generals in particular, who was nonetheless devoted to his king.
Agares was one of the more kind hearted, benevolent demons, especially of the four Generals, preferring dance and learning over fighting, though he still liked a good battle now and then. Though he was a definite far cry from the kindness exhibited by the angels, his heart was softer then the others. While the other Generals would outright kill a captured enemy, he would attempt get everything he could out of them before sending them back, their memory erased by another demon. Which caused many points of tension among the Generals, the other three believing that all prisoners should be eliminated once everything was dragged out of them, because who could tell if the memory wipe might wear off?
The King didn't appear to notice the strife among his Generals; if he did, he didn't seem to care. Perhaps he even encouraged it. Either that, or he found it too amusing to comment on. Beelzebub for the most part ignored the arguments, dealing with them when needed, disappearing elsewhere when not.
That tension, though, was to lead to the downfall of at least one General...
All four of them deeply respected and admired their King, and all had different view points on how to advise and command his legions. And of the four, Naberius, Gaap, and Ipos all agreed that Agares was a hindrance to the better cause of Hell. So they plotted to get rid of him, though they didn't want to cause a commotion by challenging him outright to a duel, and possibly lose their legions.
The three went about it carefully, just as carefully as they would go over battle plans against the angels. First, Ipos looked ahead to the next angelic raid, while Naberius sent out his spies to locate the errant General. Gaap, meanwhile, with a spy whispering in his ear and a cloak of invisibility over himself, went after Agares himself, as the strongest of the four Generals. The "lord of dance" had never been as much of a fighter as the other Generals, with Gaap being significantly stronger physically.
Agares put up quite a fight, to say the least. Being able to inspire fear in men, he turned that power on his fellow General, but it had no effect; Gaap had no sense of bravery to reverse. He felt he was doing all he did out of duty, so Agares fell to him eventually, knocked unconscious from a blow to the gut and head.
Ipos and Naberius’ job now done, they went to relate to their King of his General’s fall and death, while Gaap, still invisible, teleported himself and the unconscious Agares outside of Hell’s Gates, leaving him as bait for the angels.
The winged raiders arrived soon after the tattered General was left for dead, and they dealt with him swiftly; they held no love for demons, especially this particular General. He fell with their halberd’s in his gut, his death shriek piercing through the gates of heaven and hell as he was caught on the angels’ blades.
With his last breath, taken in as the metal blades woke him to a burning, lancing pain, he flung his soul into the darkness, a small speck of light, praying to whatever might possibly listen to a General of Hell, to bring him back. If the Generals would turn on one of their own, who was to say they wouldn’t dispose of their King? He couldn’t let that happen…----- Long and short is, three of the king's four generals plot against the fourth, feeling they were doing their king a service by getting rid of him. They corner him and throw him out to the mercies of the angels, who are none too sympathetic to a former angel turned demon general. Agares throws his soul out to come back, hoping to either destroy the traitors or at least make sure his king was safe. Dante is the reincarnation of him, with part of his personality coming from his past self, and most developing after his rebirth. Later on, Agares will be a voice in his head.

The Fa'e(Lost Child) Gaia-Dante and LostChild-Dante are pretty much the same. Same personality, same appearance, etc. The only difference is LC-Dante is MUCH more susceptible to the cold. So, I'll just go into a brief description of the world LC-Dante grew up in, which is pretty similar to Gaia/Earth 3nodding Name: Frain (Dante lives in a country called Terra) Basics: Frain is a planet all on it's own, not that dissimilar to Gaia or Earth. The largest difference, though, is the lack of humans. The primary race there are known as Daimons; they look fairly humanoid, stand upright on two legs, have a variety of skin colors from black to brown, only "special children," being lighter or pale skinned(Generally referred to as 'freaks' by more crude people). The most differing part though, is they look fairly draconic. They all have at least one set of horns on their heads, as well as varying sorts of reptile tails(Whether they be spiked, barbed, plain, etc). Sometimes they may or may not have a small spattering of scales on their bodies, almost like freckles. Aside from them, they are the only sentient race that can speak. There are animals, of course. Birds, some mammals(Some look like Earth/Gaia creatures, others would be bizarre and strange to us), reptiles and the like, reptiles and birds being favored companions(Birds for their intelligence and their ability to mimic speech). Reptiles are believed to be a distant ancestor of the Daimons, so they are greatly honored whenever seen, and some almost worship them(A religion called "Raiun", followers being referred to as "Raiists"). Most at least respect them, and if one is found in the middle of a street, traffic will divert for it until it leaves of it's own will. As for the planet itself, it's a very, very warm one. Their "winters," though this term is foreign to them, I'll use it for others understanding, are barely that. Even in their "cold" season, the most clothes they'll need to wear are maybe a sweater or two, but at the same time the Daimon race is also cold blooded, so they enjoy extreme heat. Their warm seasons would probably be unbearable to a human, unless they were raised in a desert or something of the like. Aside from the weather patterns, though, the place is really quite similar to what we know. Large, booming cities. Quiet countrysides.

A very patient and helpful woman, she loves being around children. Outside of the classroom, she is a decent cook and mother, managing a small three room apartment with herself, her brother Calla, and her son Dante. A small happy family, she wouldn't want it any other way. She has a slightly sarcastic sense of humor, though it pops up rarely(Seeing as sarcasm usually goes right over a child's head), so generally sticks to simpler things that children would like. Because of that, she comes off as a little childish sometimes, but who doesn't have their flaws? Family: |-| Son(Adopted): Dante Ylna |-| Brother: Calla Ylna History: An average person with a simple history. One of two children, went through school and to a university for her teaching degree. Her brother Calla excelled in the sciences, and is now working on major projects for the governement. Her son Dante came to them almost by accident; the siblings were on the way home from having dinner when they heard a baby crying in the bushes next to the road they were on. Seeing no one nearby, they took him home. No one could identify him though, so they took him in and raised him. A smart child, he developed quickly, much faster then normal Daimon children. They merely assumed he was just a special child.

I have to say, Satin, that it's a lot of information, but it's all very well written. The characters are all entirely believable, the world for the Lost Children contest is practical and interesting, your character isn't overpowered, but it still magical and has and interesting former life. I have to say I would love to read your boy's adventures and wish you a lot of luck in the contest. =D
