//:Name & Profession:Silvaara Ikzarr, Thrakena Coercer (Ex-Mercenary)//:Age:Unknown (Looks in the range of late teen to mid-20s.) //:Height:5'1" (She's rather...short for her age.) //:Weight:Roughly 135-60 pounds. (Muscle weighs more than fat?) //:Language:English (Note: Technically, she doesn't know English. They don't even have that language on her planet. But, for the sake of RP, we'll pretend she does know it, though she doesn't know it well. ^o^ She can't read in the English language. Or write, of course.) Some German (Note: Living place is similar to Germany, 1920s. Also, as above, she doesn't know Earth's version, but rather an extremely similar form.) //:Skills and Talents: Silvaara specializes in the creation of illusions to trick the minds of those the magic is performed upon and is often called a Coercer. As one, the bulk of her spells are dedicated to fear and anxiety, causing one's horrors to appear to come to life.
She is able to do "happier" spells, however, and has gotten used to performing with them since her days of war are over. She has been able to use some of her more "potent" spells at night...in horror shows.
Because of her half-dragon race, she is (as most dragons are) immune to most magical effects. Granted, she will not be able to stop all effects, but mostly "medium level" spell effects and below. She can also cast a spell to negate effects, but that won't last long as it is a short-term spell and not meant for drawn-out use.
Silvaara has some draw-backs to her abilities, of which include:
-"Fizzling", if interrupted or distracted the spell could either not come out at all or come our horribly wrong. -Once a spell is performed, it cannot be performed again unless re-committed to memory. This is why she carries around her spells in a pocketbook. -Spells, because of the lighting and vibrant colors, could cause seizures (Another reason why you don't sit to close to the TV). -Some spells are extremely dangerous and could cause serious damage if something went wrong. Remember, a lot of her spells were used in wars and are quite capable of taking out large masses of people.
// razz ossible Stage Progression: Stage 1-Mage Doesn't do much beyond what is asked of her chore-wise. And can do very simple magic.
Stage 2-Illusionist Can perform Illusionist Magics (this being of the "happy" variety). Helps out with entertaining little kids when they are waiting in line or whatever. Possibly helps with the lighting in the shows. :3
Stage 3-Coercer Can complete her own acts with vibrant displays of magic (being more of the "potent" and "frightening" kind). Also, when not performing, loves to help out with technical lighting and special effects.
Stage 4-??? ...

// razz ersonality: Silvaara is a very distant person and hard to reach. She's not really anti-social, it's just very difficult to get her excited over anything. Because of her attitude, which gives her a "I'm-better-than-you-so-whatever" aura, most people tend to not like her. Most spread rumors that she is cruel and unfeeling because of this and she isn't welcomed in many villages in her home world. "Silvaara the cruel Coercer is coming," they would say, and everyone but the merchants would shut their doors to her. As she really didn't care (being used to the treatment), it only increased the rumors.
She adopted this aura throughout her younger years to keep her "sane self" from the emotional traumas of going to war at a young age, and it seems to have stuck with her. As a result, though she appears overly-mature on the outside, she's very immature and childish on the inside.
Good Traits: -Kind and caring, despite her major magic and the rumors about her. -Trustworthy. If you tell her a secret, she'll take it to her grave, unless you give her permission to tell. -Extremely loyal. If she were to be anything else, it would probably be a dog. Or a cat. -A patient person. It takes a lot to set her off.
Bad Traits: -Takes any form of judgment rather harshly, even if it weren't meant to be taken in that way. She takes emotional blows from just one simple phrase even if she can't bring herself to say it. Ex. "Well, it's not that big of a deal" may (only in some cases, it depends on the situation) leave her thinking "Well, it's a big deal to me..." As stated before, she's rather like a child. xD; -Highly suspicious. She grew up with the "if given something, expect to give something better back or have it 'liberated' from you" concept. -Can, and quite easily, live up to her false cruel legacy if her temper is succeeded, which it rarely is.
Likes: -Silvaara loves children and entertaining them. No one could really figure out why, but it could be because of her wanting to be one again--a chance she missed out on after she went chasing her father. -She has a love for something called Soget, the equivalent of Eath Pocky. -Loves to read. She'll devour any book and especially loves books about other worlds (and spell books).
Dislikes: -Silvaara hates rejection and being put-off as a "useless mutt". She's gotten used to not showing her hatred for being insulted though. -Pain. She often flinches as an automatic response, even if the person next to her is raising a hand to grab something on the table or moving to get comfortable. Sometimes she'll jump because she thinks they are going to strike her when they haven't moved at all. She tends to stand a bit of a far distance away because of this. -Spiders. She is a strong arachnophobia. Spiders make her huddle in a corner and cry if she can't kill them from a distance. If you threw one of those giant fake rubber spiders on her and screamed, she'd flip out and not come near you for a good day or two--after utterly demolishing the rubber spider that is. -Being picked on about her height. I'd advise you to not do it, seeing as her reactions can range from crying to slapping you across the face. Nothing to drastic though.//:Appearance:(I left some room here, just telling the basic features.) Not particularly attractive, but not horrendously unattractive, Silvaara is a strange blend between human and dragon. Her body structure is light, but her mid-section is slightly elongated. Her skin has a red-ish hue to it and it is slightly tougher than normal, but it’s not quite scales. She has (rather, had) two wings, one is a stump and the other is ripped and tattered. They were never large enough to support her in flight. She also has a small tail and it isn’t noticeable with her robes on. Her eye is yellow and silted, like a cat’s eye, and the other is sealed shut by a scar. Her face is slightly elongated and “squared”, her nose and mouth nearing a dragon’s snout. Rather than actual hair, she has a silvery-purple mane that starts high on her forehead and travels along her back to the tip of her small tail, forming a fur spade there. She allowed one side to grow out, forming bangs that fall to a little above her cheek on her right side. Her horns are deep red and twist slightly backwards, as if about to curl around her ridged ears. She has one dragon’s claw that is deep red to match her horns and scars can be found on this arm as well as multiple spots on her body. The last features we’ll explore are her legs. They start as human legs, but bend slightly to form a dragon’s limbs. The claws at the end of her legs are much smaller and duller than normal, and looking more like human toes than fierce claws. She normally wears dark colors and has done so since after she left her "foster mother". These normally consist of a robe of some sort, held together by a sash at the waist. Her clothes are well-worn, but she's never bothered to get new ones (she washes her clothes often). Her tattered hat has a lantern attached to it that always stays lit and never produces heat--unless otherwise instructed. It doesn't seem to be a candle inside but the dull non-transparent paper covering can't show otherwise. What significance the lantern holds few can say. Tarik, Silvaara's Father( She has her father's nose...minus the horns. o3o )

//:World Description: Silvaara came from the “Type B” world of Sxroth. The following are some facts about Sxroth you might find handy knowing.
Geography: Sxroth has 5 continents. The first is directly on the equator and has a very rocky terrain and a few scattered rain forests here and there. It has three active volcanoes, named Irith (Trembler), Sanith (Roaring), and Ranith (Destroyer) respectively. This continent is called Quert and is named after the element of fire. Wehrind is the next continent, named after the earth. The northern region is rimmed with mountains whose valleys many live. The mountain range has no name. It slides steadily down and slowly forms a plains region which gives way to a savanna. Many of Sxroth’s inhabitants seek to live here, for the weather is fair and living is pleasant.
//:Silvaara's History: This is a rough, hot off the word document, print--so if there are any mistakes or something doesn't make sense, feel free to correct me.
Note to the reader: As I have taken to the retelling of Silvaara's tale and not paying to much attention to make sure that the details match, this history may deviate from what you have heard before or what you yourself have seen. To prevent any confusion as to what her actual story is, I have taken the liberty to see to it that she herself was asked about what had occurred in her life. With her consent, and for your viewing pleasure, here is her true story.
Summary: Please highlight to read if you wish. I know some people who would rather not know the background of a character until they wish, so I'm hiding it for them.
Though Silvaara’s father loved her mother, the choice to have a child ended with death for the human Riza. The dragon Tarik blamed Riza’s death on the child and has hated her since birth. He did, however, take Silvaara and leave her to be raised with the clan outcast—an old silver dragon by the name of Ewynn. Ewynn kept Silvaara sheltered from the harsh judgments of the younger purebred dragons of her age, which resulted in naivety. Ewynn treated Silvaara as her own child and found her especially skilled in the magical arts. Despite Tarik’s wishes, Ewynn began to teach the child. As she could not fly or fight or practice breathing the elements as she saw the other young ones do, Silvaara was determined to show her worth with something and worked hard at it. When she was old enough (but still very young for a dragon, even a half-breed), she was allowed to leave her sheltered cavern and venture to confront her father. Upon reaching his lair, however, she found he had only recently left to be off with his new mistress—war. Silvaara was determined to speak with him, so she followed after him (a rather easy thing to do, following his trail of destruction). She eventually joined the armies in her search for him, learning an evil form of illusionist magic and becoming a Coercer. Silvaara proved her worth enough to be accepted into her father’s leading army, but not without being “initiated”. She was one of the few women allowed to enter, and for human women this normally left them bearing a child. But because Silvaara was not human, she was spared this torment—most of the men being too afraid to go near her in such a manner. Instead, in late night, she was lured to a secluded spot and restrained, involuntarily. They held her still as they ripped off her robes (she was wearing a wrap underneath) and proceeded to saw off one of her small wings with a sword, cleaving a bit of flesh as they pulled it off. Fortunately, her father was making rounds and came to the rescue, saving her other wing from the same torment, though later in life it had a fair bit of damage done to it as well. She was separated from her father as they rode to war the next day and wouldn’t for at least a good six years. When the war was over, she returned to look for her father once more. By this time she had earned a reputation for being cold and cruel, which made her search that much more difficult. Eventually she found him—sickly and injured—and she stayed with him, nursing him. Tarik often kept mistaking Silvaara for her mother and she wasn’t sure if she should be grateful for that or curse it. She was able to use her magic to keep him entertained and it was about this point in time she discovered that she could use her abilities to do so. Her father suddenly vanished, but her spirit was now quieted. Silvaara felt the she didn’t need to search for him any longer. Instead, she set out to turn her false reputation around, using her newfound skills in magic to entertain instead of harm.

//:Silvaara's Pocket Books of Spells: Note: Please be careful when reading this for, unless properly trained in the magical arts, any number of the following may happen: one might go insane, develop extra limbs, find themselves missing limbs, or be stuck repeating what others say.
-Zrak::A spell used to create basic light. -Iranthra Quith-ry::A spell used to conjure lanterns that burst into butterflies made of multi-colored lights. Two-part spell. Iranthra summons the lanterns, Quith-ry causes them to burst.

//:The Thrakenian Language: A guide to the language of the Thrakena.
Introduction
Welcome to the Thrakenian language. I’ll start off by saying that this language is quite simple, with nothing really too complex to learn or master. In this introduction, you’ll be introduced to the basic things you will be learning. While we explore this dialect, please bear in mind that there are many other dialects on Sxroth, and this is the one known as the “common”. That means it is the easiest to learn and is, more often than not, the first language to be taught to children. There are slight variations depending on where you go and slang is present as well. Now that you know this, let us continue. First, the types of scripts: Gradonce and Inquedonce.
1. Gradonce.
This script, or form of writing, is using the English alphabet. On the planet Sxroth, where the language originated, they do not have the English lettering system. But for out convenience, I have taken the liberty of translating it to English terms. In this form, non-english word will be italicized.
2. Inquedonce.
This is the form of writing native to Sxroth. I will provide samples as pertaining to the letters of the alphabet. Keep in mind that this is only the main form of writing and also the simplest. There are many other more complex forms, which are only used on certain occasions. Don’t worry, if you are ever on Sxroth this script is the “common” script, so everyone should know it no matter where you go.
Grammar Rules:
1. Vowel Sounds: a, i, u, e, o
· A as in harp. · I as in machine. · U as in executive. · E as in elephant. · O as in so.
2. You never add “hello” or “welcome” to a sentence. Greetings are always stand-alone. It is considered an insult to yourself to do otherwise.
· Adding a name to the hello, like saying “Hello Chroma” is considered as VERY rude. Don’t do it. Either say the name as the greeting or not at all (until necessary).
3. Ta is added to any sentence to make it a question. Instead of re-arranging the words, you simply add ta.
Example:
English: Is he there? Thrakenian: He is there (ta)?
· Exceptions
There are some exceptions to this rule. Questions such as “How are you?” are asked as questions, however ta is still added to the end to clarify. Unless you are familiar with the language, it is not advised to take away the ta. (Taking it away is what is known as ‘slang’.)
4. Verb is always second!
Example:
English: Then, he left for the town. Thrakenian: Then, left he for the town.
5. Commas. Commas are used in the same way commas in English are used. However, they are never used in the Inquedonce script.
Dictionary: Note: This dictionary is in the process of being made. More words will be added.
Rath - She/her Rith -He/him Es – You/I Hin - And Erio - Hello/Hi Eriorithas - Welcome (as in "Welcome to our home." Can be used as a substitute for “Hello.”) Querthai - Fire Wehrindi – Earth Re – Is/are Yil – There Ne – What (can be used as stand alone. “Ne?” instead of “Ne ta?”) Ta – Added to make anything a question. Wee – How (as in how is it done) Wii – How (as in the state of something. “How are you?”). It can also be used as “well” (as in “I am well.”)
Dialogue:
1. Simple Dialogues.
Tarik: Erio. Wii re es ta? (Hello. How are you?) Rika: Eriorithas. Es re wii, hin es ta? (Welcome. I am well, and you?)

Hey, it looks awesome!
The one thing that I'd mention right off the bat, though, is in the first post, you put her age as "unknown". Then, you put her height as "5'1" (She's rather...short for her age.)" How old does she appear, exactly, is the question that comes up? surprised
Good luck with Silv! <33

All right, I promised a critique of some sort for you, so here it is. <3 What I really want to address is Silvaara's appearence. From what I understand, she's half-human, half-dragon, correct? (If I'm wrong, please excuse me- I would, however, suggest that you clearly state her race somewhere, because it's something we have to puzzle together from the story and her appearence). My question is this; considering things realistically, how would someone with half-dragon genes, only physically express said genes in localized areas? She has wings, horns, one claw, and eye color. Maybe the color of her hair is also affected by this, but it all still seems very unlikely to me. Try to consider and sort out the differences between human and dragon geneology. We have to assume there is some form of magic involved to allow them to properly mate as is; the more you have to stretch things to fit a preconceived notion, the harder it's going to be for the audience to suspend their disbelief for it. Why doesn't Silv have scales, except on her claw (I assume there are some on her claw)? Has she, at any point, ever had a tail- be it malformed and underdeveloped? Were her wings ever capable of flight, or were they similarly malformed? Why isn't she bald?- reptiles have no hair, after all. This is a difficulty with any sort of half-breed, truth to tell; a lot of times, it requires a sacrifice of standard aethestics to make it believable and original. If at any time something like this is going to be addressed, it's best done in a manner completely apart from anything else ever done. Why? Because "halfbreed", in instances like these, is not a race. It's literally a freak of nature, a crossing between two gene groups that are not meant to cross together. If it helps you to envision things differently, try to focus on a different label for Silv; don't think of her as a half-dragon, which tends to make us want to split things evenly between human and dragon. Think of her as a draconic human, or a humanoid dragon. Whatever makes things less cut-and-dry and more nuance-inclined. The picture currently in my mind is something along the lines of Zhaan from Farscape. Image for reference- the one on the right. Not necessarily taking an appearence exactly like her, of course, but borrowing off of the look of uniformity would be much more sensical for a half-dragon that obviously takes a lot of traits from their dragon heritage. Adding on a few of the more wicked traits of dragonkin- and don't be afraid of having some of them not be so pretty, a dragon being born out of a human womb is bound to have some physical anomalies- and you can build a character's appearence into something that is going to grab ten times the attention you'd usually get, just by taking the path less travelled.

Bleh. And that's the stuff I avoided and cared not to get into. XD Originally, I had her human/draconian, but I then decided for my own devices that her father would have to be full-dragon. I mostly base much of my basis off of the DragonLance series style-dragons, which on that notion the silver mentioned in the history really would be a social outcast as dragons were divided by color: Silver, Gold, Bronze, Brass, ( and some other shiny color I can't recall) were the "children of the good god Paladine". Green, Red, Black, White, Blue were the "children of the evil goddess Takhisis". Draconians were quite lizard like, looking like the Iksar in EverQuest, except with wings that could only be used for gliding and they hadn't "inherited" breathing, but rather their corpses would basically do whatever they breath they would have inherited didn't. Like, say, instead of spitting acid, their corpses would dissolve into it and take anyone near them out too. Anyway, back from the history lesson. x_x;; Her father was a red dragon, so that made him evil. And being a red dragon, he was the equivalent of a gold, also skilled in magic. Thus, he could shape shift. He pretty much looked like "strikingly-handsome" guy and his features would change from time to time, depending on his mood... At this point in the history in Silvaara's world, the "metallic" dragons had pretty much died out and only a few of the "chromatic" dragons were left, and only about 1 in 50 left had magic, much less could use it. Silvaara was lucky to inherit this. From my thinking, she would have not only inherited her human mother's features, but some features of the human form her father had at the time of baby-making. ( XD ) He was a kind-of warlord, so he probably was pulsating magic that affected her, seeing as he was still seeing his mate until her death. But from the perspective I put it at, no one could ever really know how it works. Besides that, her planet isn't Earth. Genetics could be different--heck, they might not even have "cells" like we do. If you need an example, another race from that planet are creatures that have fox anatomy, but instead of paws have hooves (and I've been told that you'd have to fix the legs to do this, but meh, they are special) and a single wind centered on their back, not fully attached to their body until adulthood. And while we're on this topic, time passes differently as well. Her age is unknown because of this gap. It is guessed that one of her years is aprox. 73 earth years. Now, she did originally had a tail, but I changed it to wings as it made a better plot-line in the long run. Her wings were never capable of flight, not even gliding. Of course she never got a chance to try either. She isn't bald one, because I have issues attempting to draw bald people (eheheh ^^;; ) and two, some dragons have manes. Plus, her father's magic could have caused the weird color (I mean, look at Harry Potter and Voldemort, snake speaking fhushs. o_o wink . Half-breed, in this case, would be what she would have been called if she weren't sheltered. Like in Inu-Yasha, a "half-demon mutt"...he really has no "race", but rather is universally accepted as, in essence, a half-breed. So she's not really anything race-wise...just a mutt...or as you stated a "draconic human". Ho mai. Overall, you made a really good point and hit a sore-spot on my concept. I think I'll re-do her appearance after all. Thanks, that critique really helped. Danke Schon! whee But, I'm keeping the hair. XD Rawr, I'll probably do something like....more dragon-ish and make it a mane thinger or something though.... O: ( If only for my fetish of drawing wavy-things that flow. o3o I wonder if anything up there made any sense? xD;; )

Once for the record; I'm a D&D freak. So I definitely understand the entire concept of metallic/chromatic dragons and the like; don't be afraid of losing me there at all. x3
I really like the concept of a mane, truth to tell. XD I think that could look utterly AWESOME on her. That's about ten steps in the right direction, so far as I'm concerned, and I'm seriously excited just thinking about it.
I'll be stalking your thread now, waiting to see the updated appearence. >3 Very glad to have helped, and very excited to see how things go!
