A lifetime of wandering. A lifetime of looking for the 'worthy.' Was it any wonder that Kisiri'auri had grown bitter? Sure, her name meant 'secret gold,' as her wonderous eye colour was highly coveted in her old pack. So why wasn't she with her old pack?
Because she was the last of it. Spirited away as a youngster and cared for by the pack's wisest, her family were destroyed by cruel-hearted lions who have probably since passed themselves. In the most painful way possible, she hoped. A lot of effort was put into avoiding lion territory, since she by herself would be far too easy a target. Unfortunately, this took her outside of most prime hunting spots.
And this newest place didn't seem any better. A graveyard. Kisiri scrambled around the various hard rocks and scattered bones, picking amongst them for any signs of old flesh, skin, or even a small mouse or something.
"What a dump," she said to herself, nose wrinkling.

"Something you want?" The gray hyena looked down from a pile of bones that had created something of a small mountain.
Ahsante had been accepted into the pack that lived here by the Alpha known as Mafa. The pack hated lions, dispised them. Ahsante wasn't one for hating, nor for fighting, infact he was incredibly submissive, maybe something that wasn't normal for a Hyena. He rarely showed his weakness, but sometimes... it came out.
Right now the blue eyed male looked down at the female, who wasn't one of the pack, he had met the whole pack, or at least most of it the day he had arrived and right now she did not act as a member nor look like one. He hadn't seen her, he had the right to be suspicious.

"Yeah, its something called 'food,'" she replied snidely. "Looks red, sometimes drips, tastes nice and is generally needed to survive."
She didn't like having to look up to speak to another hyena, and as such, quickly looked around for a pile of something to climb and put less height between them.

She needent move as he walked down towards her. "This food isn't yours. Mafa won't be too please with a hyena scavenging the packs lands." He watched her, his voice was calm and soft, there was nothing in it that seemed normal for hyenas, at least the ones he had met.
"You will have to go elsewhere."

Kisiri was pleased that he'd descended, as her little pile of rocks made her just a little bit taller than him. But his...threat?...didn't sit too well.
"Oh, so there IS food, and there are other hyenas here?" she said, showing too much enthusiasm for one who was alone.
His far from agressive approach, even to her cocky attitude, was a little un-nerving. Maybe there was an ambush in the wings? Maybe he knew something she didn't?
"Say, whats your name?"

He just watched her, "It is not for you, unless you wish to speak to Mafa." He looked down at the bones she had been tearing at and then smiled looking back at her.
"I am Ahsante, you are?" If only there was an ambush waiting or something, nope this was just one male hyena being his usual self.

"Oh I'm sure this Mafa of yours wouldn't mind an itty bitty hyena like me just taking a few scraps. I'm passing through," she said, a cheeky glint in her eye.
She could sometimes masquerade her bratty behaviour as a symbol of youth, almost acting like someone who had just left pup-hood. This was far from the truth though.
"And my name is Kisiri'auri," she replied pleasantly.
Atop her little pile of rocks and bones, her paws shifted frequently, trying to keep a good grip of the slippy footing.

"Dawww, you're not going to be a big meanie, are you?" she teased. "You're much too nice and handsome to be a meanie."
Uh oh, she was playing the 'sweet and flirty' card. It didn't always work, and she wished to forget the times it blew up in her face. Maybe...if she batted her eyes a little more, and gently padded from her little mountain...
Her descent was less graceful than she wished but nevermind, she still managed a cute flick of the tail and patter of paws.

He was feeling terrible, how could he do this?
"Then You can come and see Mafa, otherwise go. You cant stay unless you talk to the Alpha and then she can deal with you." He didn't like this, he wasn't like this, he was nice, caring not like this. He had to obey the rules.

Well, its a start...I can work my magic on this alpha...
A devilish smile curled upon her maw and she nodded her head at Ahsante in thanks. She padded to his side, her ears flicking for a few moments as she batted away a couple of bugs.
"Lead the way," she smiled.

Ahsante just stared at her a little and snorted before leading her towards where Mafa may stay, some of the time at least.
"She hangs around this area. Good luck."
With that he left quickly, he wasn't about to intrude the Alpha's territory. He had heard stories of what she was like and wasn't about to risk anything by getting in her way.
He was out of there.
