...+who is Elyann?
Full Name: Elyann Laramie Nicknames: Ely, Lya, "Doll" Stage Name: Ely the Child's Toy Age: 12 Gender: Female Race/Ethnicity: Human (Looks French/German)/Albinonan (see World (when it gets put up)) Languages: Native tongue (see World), English
Appearence: -Hair Color: Light blond -Hair Style: Freakishly curly, yet neat. Shoulder-length. Worn with a baby blue ribbon to keep most of her hair out of her face. -Eye Color: Glassy-looking (see eye reference); Amethyst -Skin Color: Pale, almost transluscent -Height: 4'1" -Build: Small, very slender. -Weird/Distinctive Markings: A very faint line on both sides of her mouth, extending down her chin and to her throat. The joints on both side of her body have small, silver hinges on the side. -Costume: Elyann adores old-fashion dresses, so she would present herself in a blue pastel dress that shows off atleast her elbows, and just above her knees, with a white apron-smock covering the front of the dress. This costume also includes white stockings and black buckle shoes.
Personality: Elyann is a sweet, thoughtful little girl with innocence that could make your teeth rot. She can be very motherlike and deathly loyal to those she's fond of, which can either be seen as caring or clingy. Her loyalty for her friends makes her adore social interaction. She's modest to the point where you have to beg her to accept your compliments and blunt enough to point out something (good or bad) and not let it worry her. Her sweet nature is mixed in with intelligence, although people tend to overlook that. Flattery bounces off her like a rubber ball, and rudeness is something she's not entirely aware of.
A downfall in her personality is that she can look a little too serious during first impressions, and seem critical. Getting on her neves is as easy as trying to walk barefoot across a pit of fire without getting burned - almost impossible, and you shouldn't try it anyway unless there's something in it for you. Ely has almost no temper, and will find a way to see something happy in it, in a rather creepy way. But nobody's perfect, including Elyann. Her happiness gets creepy to many one way or another, to a point where her smile could look to be the equivalent of a Chuckie doll. If nothing described above disturbs people, then that probably will. The weird thing is this: she isn't aware of this, and assumes that people just come and go into her life as they please, if they are creeped out by this.
Her pet peeves include: - ongoing flattery: Hey, it gets annoying being told the same thing, only in different text format. - rabbits: see History Before Circus. - silence: It irks her how one can be silent for a few seconds without yelling at the top of their lungs. and - people who assume she's stupid: Just because she acts like she's not aware of the bad around her, doesn't make her dumb. And she finds it very insulting.
Hobbies: Inventing, making doll parts, playing with her own small toys General Likes: Toys (specifically dolls), people, being nice, playing games, candy, flowers, dresses (old-fashioned), brushing her hair (while her head isn't on her shoulders o_O) Dislikes: Rabbits, stereotypical people, boys (cooties maybe? XD), fighting, getting lost
History Before the Circus: Before her life in Cirque du Coeur Tovre, she was Young Baroness Elyann Lamarie, only daughter of the widowed Baron Lamarie the toy maker, and smallest child in her town. Living with them was her uncle and his two 15 year old sons. Her uncle's wife had died before she was born, so she had known him all her life, plus his left leg was crippled from a horseback riding accident when he was a child. So, to earn their keep on Elyann's father's estate, him and his sons helped her father sell the toys he made.
Speaking of which, she had loved being the daughter of a toy-making family. Her father would always make her toys whenever he felt like it, but her favourite part about his job was that he always made her a porcelain doll for her birthday. Each was hand crafted, hand-painted, and different in their own special way. Yes, everything in her life was perfect.
Until that day her father got called into their country's army. At the time, there had been a war raging on between their country and the country bordering them. It seemed that they now wanted to recruit all the men they could get their hands on. Obviously that meant everyone who was able-bodied, including her father. So, knowing he had to fight for his country, the baron left his daughter, the estate and a stuffed white rabbit in memory about him, to join the army.
That was 6 years ago.
Elyann stopped smiling after the first 3.
----
And so she waited for his return, looking out the window in the tea room to see maybe a glimpse of his horse or to hear the shout of his voice. With each passing day, she started to lose hope until there barely anything left to hold onto. The only thing that gave her hope was the stuffed rabbit, and the thousands of toys he left behind.
Her relatives, of course, were very worried when she suddenly stopped smiling 3 years after her father left. They tried all sorts of things to cheer her up: horseback riding, walks around the garden, even making toys. But she refused to smile.
One day, after the full 6 years had passed, Elyann saw a horse with a man riding on it, coming toward the house. It was a messenger, probably coming by to tell them something important. Elyann hoped that whatever buisness the messenger had with them, it was about her father.
Her uncle took the man to the next room to talk with him. Elyann followed them, and listened from behind the slightly opened door. ...But what she heard was something didn't want to hear:
"I'm so sorry...we just had to come here after hearing this and tell you right away. The baron, he is dead."
She felt the color rush away from her cheeks, small tears running down her face as she ran from the door. Ely couldn't believe it, he father was dead. He would never come back to her. She would never be able to hug him and laugh with him or smile with him. And that rabbit, it was a sign of a broken promise. It was just too much.
Ely ran out of the house, her favourite doll in hand, into the dense forest near the town. Unfortunately, she got lost, and it was dark outside, so she couldn't see where she going. And there was a legend in the town that an enchantress lived somewhere in the forest, which made her even more scared.
All of this confusion and fear made Ely trip over an uprooted root of a tree, hit her head on another and black out completely. But not before hearing the crack of her doll hitting the hard forest ground, a light chuckle and someone saying in the distance,
"My oh my, what has snuck into my forest..."
---
When Elyann woke up, she found herself facing the sky and feeling better than ever, outside of the forest. Her doll was no where to be seen, and something didn't feel quite right. She looked at her hands; they looked fine and yet they didn't. She walked over to a nearby creek, looked at her reflection, and screamed.
Her eyes were no longer blue and normal, but purple and glassy! And her hair, so long and straight, was now curly and short. And, were those lines on her chin? They were. She rolled up her sleeves, afraid of what she would see. She blinked. Hinges. There were HINGES on her arms, probably on her wrists and legs too!
Ely panicked and thought over her options: she couldn't go home, her uncle and cousins wouldn't recognize her anymore, and she couldn't go into town, the people would chase her out. So that left her with her final option: run away.
So, she sneaked back into her house through her open window (always left open), and took her most prized possesions: her clothes, a picture of her family and the first doll her father ever gave her. She hugged the doll close to her and knew that her father would've wanted to her to stay, but she couldn't live her normal life anymore. She wasn't normal anymore.
But before she could run away, she had to find the one who made her what she was now: the enchantress in the forest.
(And that is where the story stops...for now.)

...+talents, skills (and stages)
Major Talents: Although she won't explain how she does it, Elyann can detatch certain parts of her body (hands, arms, any part of her face, etc.) and replace them with toy parts. For example, she can remove her right arm and replace it with, say, a teddy bear's arm. But she if she removes move than 3 of her body parts, she must fill in the spots where it's missing. If she takes off her left eye and right arm, she must fill in those spots with something else. The only exception to this rule is her head, which she can take on and off freely. Also, if any of her original body parts are destroyed or can't be used, than that part is considered gone and can't be replaced.
Another major talent is that she can actually enchant toys, regardless of size. Once enchanted, she would be able to make them do anything: from entertaining small kids to letting them do little tricks to even letting them play with her during her act.
Ventriliquism is another talent she can use in the big top; by enchanting the dummy, she can do a little 'dual act' with the dummy. This allows Elyann to perform without the need to hold up the dummy, which would be about her size. She would also be able to switch her body parts with the dummy.
Major Skill: Ely is excellent at making all sorts or toys from scratch and/or other toy parts. The toys, however, like to entertain their host, getting their kicks out of moving around a little bit without the need of a little help (haha - attack of the misfit toys XD).
The Stages:
-Carnie: Since Ely is a little on the weak side (no upper or lower body support whatsoever), she puts her skill to action and opens up a small souvenier stand, selling trinkets and toys for passerbys. Each it different from the other, no two look alike or act alike. This would earn money for the circus, plus fine tune her skills a little at a time.
-Castmember: Ely would move up from lacky to sideshow, showing off her small toy army, surprising the customers by rearranging her body parts (and take off her head once in awhile), and doing a little ventriliquist act for the kids.
-Headliner: Elyann would be a performer, putting some life into her ventriliquist dummy and letting it walk around the ring while Ely herself juggles random doll parts and switches them with her own in the process. She will also use the small toys to do little stunts and tricks, letting them goes as far as taking her apart and putting her back together again.
(Note: Her limbs are still able to move on their own when she detaches them, but stop moving if someone were to take it 20 meters away from her.)

...+her world
World Type: B - Fantasy World's Name: Elyann's world has no significant name (But for the sake of everyone, we'll call it Earth xD)
World: The world she lives in is made up of 4 large continents: Aliyarn, Talolore, Conhendarum, and Zefereunua. Aliyarn is south of Talolore, which borders Conhendarum on the left. Southeast of Conhendarum is Zefereunua. Each has their different own way of life. This world has witches, sorcerers and many things unnatural, so talk or magic and sorcery isn't uncommon.
Technology here hasn't really gotten far, so things likes computers and TVs won't be invented for another few thousand years or so. Kings and queens rule over the countries in the continents of this world, as well as lord and ladies running the towns, so circuses or any type of entertainment would have to approved by the ruling lord and/or lady.
Where does she come from: Elyann lives on Aliyarn, which is divied into 6 countires: Vosperite, Albisonan, Uranguane, Tononethon, Senia, and Nondrankar. Senia is the smallest, being an island off the coast of Albisonan, and Uranguane is the largest. Each town has it's own race of people, Elyann lives in Fo Donstuat, Albisonan.
Albisonan borders Tononenthon (northeast of Albi.) and Vossperite (south of Tononethon). The terrain is mostly plains, forests and a mountain range that acts as a barrier between it ans Talalore. It has 5 cities: Fo Donstuat, Fo Yuion, Fo Gurthag, Fo Renhuy, and Fo Ometh, the capital city where the King and Queen of Albisonan reside.
People: The people of Albisonan are blond with blue eyes (Ely was born with blue eyes) and are called Albinonan. Albinonan's are sweet by nature and love making things with their hands. Alibinonans are carefree, and are known for their small, but knowing smiles. Their native tongue is full of consanants and very few vowels. Learning this language is very hard and takes patience and precision, for even the slightest mistake can 'cause a simple "Hello, how are you?" to "Hello, you're a moron."
Politics: King Geraminreh and Queen Sarissma rule over the country of Albisonan. Their enemies are the people in Tononethon, the Tondrens, and are currently at war with them. The army barely has over 5000 people (that includes the medics), but because of their inventive skill, their weaponry is by far the best in Elyann's world.
Customs:
- Albinonan girls must be married off at the age of 17, Albinonan boys can't marry until they turn 20. - Only the men of Albinonans are able to field work; the women must stay home and run the household. - When presenting yourself (girl or boy), you bow/curtsy and say "A pleasure to meet you, sir/miss." - Albinonans love commerce and trade because they like to show off what they make, but they aren't greedy or show-offy about it.
