You guys sound like my mom. >.>
First, some background information.
My cousin and I are notorious adventurers, ever since we were kids. However, when we got into middle school, our adventures got more complicated. We started having this thing for exploring abandoned buildings, like factories and schools. This continued through high school, and to this very day. Well, yesterday anyway.
We went out and explored an old abandoned school that was near us, which was cool. But there was this old factory that my cousin's dad used to work at that had been abandoned for a while, and we'd had our eye on it, but never had opportunity to explore it. Now we did, so we headed over there. This particular plant actually had some arrests before. Some kids had broken in and were playing paintball inside. But we figured that we weren't going to cause any ruckus so why not.
We pulled behind the factory and parked. We noticed a no trespassing sign on the door we were parked near, but we were never ones to pay attention to such things. So we got out and started scouting for a way in. Not a minute into scouting, and a car pulls up right behind us. I was praying that it was just some kids coming back there to do drugs or something, but no such luck. A follow spot clicked on the side of the car.
Long story short, we both got arrested and charged with criminal trespassing. It took the longest time to get the officer to believe we weren't there to destroy anything or steal copper. I didn't even know there was money to be had in the theft of copper.

I hate victimless crimes. They shouldn't be crimes at all. I can see trespassing into someone's yard being illegal. But trespassing onto the grounds of a factory that's been abandoned for a good five years, and is being torn down in a few years anyway? Some place that means nothing to anybody? It's stupid.

My little brother did something like that. He and some friends snuck into one of those half built houses. You know, the ones you see when they start expanding the neighbourhood.
Anyway, they and ended up getting caught by a cop and chraged with breaking & entering, which I thought was a bit extreme. I mean, no one was living there so tresspassing would've been more appropriate imo.

I snuck into the Perry Hall Mansion with a bunch of kids in Maryland last year. It was fun, the house was like a Resident Evil house, there was a creepy set of stairs inside the back end of a upstairs bathroom that went to the attic, which was even more creepy.
