Don't look back....Don't look ahead... Don't look up....
Ger thought quietly as he moved along the dirt path. The lion had left during the early hours in the morning before any of the family woke up. If Kohaku or Inoa woke up, everyone else would. Hayate...he might've woken up Aysha, but the others would slowly follow. At least Kohji and Athena would have listened to him and quietly follow him out to play or busy themselves. He hoped they would forgive him for leaving them again. As of late, Ger had been wandering from them and closer to Pride Rock, this was the furthest he had gone. Last time, he got about half way from the border until he ran into Jini, another Pride Lander. Now, he was on his own and there was only one thing on his mind; Ez, Trina, and his mother. They stayed stuck in his mind, dreams, thoughts, conflicts....If he looked up now, he would chicken out and head back home. He had promises to keep, Trina had one, Kujack had one, and Ezeoha had one.
"People should do what they say they will..." Inoa is right....I have to do what I said I would.
Teal eyes narrowed as he pulled his head up to the horizon. The den of the Royal family and the members of the Pride Landers stood before him in all it's glory. The promontory where he spoke with his Great Uncle Mufasa, where he looked over the Pride Lands. There was where Trina, Ez, and his mother was. He was sure of it.
-----
Golden paws stood ankle deep in cool water. The Pride Lander stood in a close water hole to Pride Rock. He was having second thoughts of returning there. He still had his promise to Kujack to keep, he could not leave his 'father' but he cannot deny his home. His eyes traced the very tip of the rock formation and down to the spot where he bumped into Trina. Quite literally too. He traced it back up where he and his mother spoke before he started his little journeys everywhere. Finally to where he spoke to Ez about his 'problems'
"Ez..."
He chuckled as he looked down to his paws before getting out onto the shore, grooming his paws of the mud and water. Ez was a strange one, a good male, just a bit....weird. He didn't know it then, but Ez was flirting more than a cub should, hell, he shouldn't have been flirting period. Ger learned that flirting was something males and females did to attract another to them. Ger thought it was simple playfulness. Ez did it with females that he knew and Trina did it to him. His friend...Ezeoha was still his friend, no matter what. He had some things to hide, and Ger promised that he would get the male to open up to him. What threat did he pose? What harm did he show? Ger was only gonna help him, get closer to him as a friend. However....was he still around?
It was not too long ago did he remembered that as he was growing up, so were his friends. Trina was probably a gorgeous female with a mate already, Ez would be the very same. He doubted that they would even remember the 'graceful' male or even his name now. They were probably off with their own families, their cubs, their mates. And Ger was alone, no mate, no cubs, all he had was Kujack and his family.
Depressed, Ger got to his feet and got to his feet, starting back to the family den. He chickened out.

(( Holy /crap/ you wrote a lot. 8D ))
Always Ezeoha preferred to sleep in to noon, though most of the time he either had Nunda or Chinara waking him up. Nunda would wake ihm so they could play, and Chinara would wake him up so she could do something and not fret about leaving Nunda unwatched. Of course, having Ezeoha as the ever-watchful parent wasn't the best decision, but it was better than having no one. Ezeoha had the tendency to be a laid-back father, who let his son do whatever he liked, only drawing the line when something truly was dangerous. But, anything under that was perfectly alright for Nunda to chase after and play with, even if it was slightly dangerous. It was how his son learned what was safe to play with, and what he needed to be careful around. Of course, whenever Nunda did get hurt Ezeoha was there to comfort him, and quietly beg from his son not to tell Chinara that Ezeoha had permitted him to get hurt. Chinara would have his head and exclaim that he was being a poor father.
The two of them had different parenting methods, but somehow they found a nice balance. Ezeoha was slowly beginning to tolerate her over-protective nature, and she was certainly give Ezeoha more leeway when dealing with Nunda. Surprisingly, they were turning out to be a nice parenting pair, and Nunda was never left wanting with the two of them always there for him. It was the one thing Ezeoha would never stop doing, watching out for his son. His own family was not the best, but the small family he had now started was one he cared so tenderly for. He wasn't going to allow Nunda to have the same relationship Ezeoha had with his own father.
Surprisingly, though, Ezeoha had woken early on his own this morning, and tenderly nuzzling his cheek against Chinara's, and giving Nunda a tender lick, he had left the small, comfortable den to head back to the Pridelands. Surprisingly, Ezeoha now dwelled a little out of it, in a den that Chinara had chosen because it held sentimental value to her. Ezeoha would do anything for her comfort, so leaving the border of the Pridelands so she could be happy with where she raised Nunda was no big deal for him. The family went on many excursions to the Pridelands, so Nunda could play with as many friends as he wanted. Though, Nunda was turning out to be the social butterfly with any other creature other than his own kind. It was amusing, to say the least, though Ezeoha did try to prompt him into making feline friends. Nunda could love all the animals in the world, as long as he at least had some feline friends to wrestle around with.
Walking back into the Pridelands, he noticed a dim, golden figure on up ahead. Plenty of lions were golden furred in the Pridelands, but for some strange reason he somehow knew that this lion was familiar to him. As he continued to travel forwards, the lion came more into view, and Ezeoha noticed with dismay that the lion certainly had a smaller mane, which meant he was younger, but had so much more muscle mass than Ezeoha that it made him look like a shrimp. He knew he was delicately built, but put up next to someone who was truly muscular and just all around bigger, he took note of his small stature more acutely.
It was only when he came closer yet that he realized who this lion was, a lion that he had not seen in such a long time. He stopped in his tracks, eyes widening, and he stared stupidly on ahead. "...Ger?"

The male gritted his teeth, eyes grew wide, and stopped mid step as he nearly jumped from the ground; surprised to say the least. He didn't suspect anyone would call his name, hell if anyone here even knew it. Not many of the Pride Landers knew his name, only a handful of critters knew it and him. When his fur finally relaxed back onto his body, his teal eyes looked around, strangely, things seemed different than they had been on the way here. Perhaps he took a wrong turn at an acacia tree, those thing look so much a like it's eerie. Seeing nothing, he even turned back to Pride Rock, nothing there either. Who called him?
Ger sat down for a moment to think, who would be out here calling him. Who knew him that lived here? Jamaa, Usufii, Topas, Goma, Yakuti, Trina, his mother, and Ger, and the king and queen. Eliminate Jamaa, Usufii, Topas, Goma, and Yakuti on the account of how busy they are, that leaves the felines. Uncle Mufasa and Aunty (yes still Aunty) Sarabi must be busy with their royal duties to be out meandering around. That leaves Jahazra, Trina, and Ez. He picked up his head with his paw to his chin. His mother was ill since last they been together so perhaps she is still recovering and still at the den. That would leave Trina and Ez. Looking around once more for a gold pelt or a chocolate pelt. Teal eyes danced on the grasses until it fell onto the golden furred male. Ez.
"...Jerk..."
He murmured, a smile coming to his maw. It was a smile that just seemed to come out naturally. It was not of happiness, sadness, fake, or false, it was a loving, caring, charming smile. Actually, it was odd since Kohji had once asked him to stop doing that since it made him feel uncomfortable.
Ger got to his feet and started moving closer to the other male, it had been nearly four or five months since the last saw each other. Back on the promontory of Pride Rock, just talking. Strange how Ez was such a flirt and Ger was so adventurous. Ger had lost that old lust of his and stopped adventuring...to an extent. How has Ez changed? Had he stopped flirting? Did he have a family now? Does he hate him for leaving so suddenly?
"At least you remember me, Ezeoha."

He stopped moving, sitting himself down and letting Ger come to him. Ezeoha had not seen his childhood friend in such a long time that he still wasn't entirely sure that it was Ger he was seeing, or someone who looked incredibly like him. But, no, as Ger continued over to him he could see the size that had been promised to Ger when he was cub, could see that dark brown mane, teal eyes, plain golden fur (not terribly unlike his own). It was most definitely Ger, and for once Ezeoha was at a loss as to what to say.
Shaking his head, he pushed his mane out of his red eyes so he could get a better look at his friend. Everything about his posture screamed 'cool, calm, same ol' Ezeoha'. His whole body was relaxed, a calm, slightly toothy grin, being pulled onto his face. Idly his tail twitched, kicking up a little dirt and pushing aside tiny blades of grass.
"How could I forget you? There were quite a few days when I wished you gone, and quite a few days that I liked having you around. You inspired plenty of random emotions from me, you pest." His grin widened, and he seemed to grow bigger from just that gentle teasing of Ger. Of course, Ger was still larger than him, but it made Ezeoha feel good to start a meeting off with a little teasing. They could not remember the time they spent apart if they were too busy arguing and teasing one another.

Not even more than a minute, not more than a few feet from him, already Ez had started with his barrage of immature, yet somewhat effectively amusing, teasing. Ger gave a teethy grin similar to his golden counterpart as he moved closer. It had been too long for him to have see his friend, quite too long. But that day on the promontory stood out in his mind most of all for one reason or another. The golden male chuckled from his friend's playful mockery and sat himself down.
"Well, well, my flirtatious, friend. I see you haven't changed much if not any. Or are you letting that mane of yours into that peanut size brain? I digress, how has my friend been since I've been away? How's Mosi? Trina?"
He started off with his questions, his curiosity dug him into the three names of the cubs he knew best. Mosi was a female that Ez liked when he was a cub, perhaps they were together now. Who knows. Trina was the other, obviously. Then it hit him, what the chocolate female had always told him. "Don't talk about someone else when you're talking to someone."
"So, Ez, how have you been, keeping yourself out of trouble?"
Ger let the dark brown bangs hang over his face, parted down the middle as the cowlick he had always had stuck up from the center. It had been months since he last touched it, annoyed by it at times but forgotten it the rest. Strangely, he was getting used to it there now as if it was a part of him. Then again, he must've gotten it from somewhere. His teal eyes fell down onto Ez's features. He had grown into quite the male.
Like Ger, Ez had grown taller since their cubhood. His fur was the same soft gold color that was generic in the Pride Lands family lines. Ger may not be from directly from Mufasa's line, or Sarabi's, but he still had it. Perhaps his mother was the daughter of Mufasa's father or something along those lines. As Ger had his alluring, gorgeous teal eyes, Ez had the deep red ones. However, unlike Ger, Ez had markings on him, Ger was plain. Ez was older by a month or maybe it was a good three weeks or two. Lastly, Ez was smaller and much more svelte. Then again, Ger never meant to be in the shape he was in. Blame Ez and the others for that.
Ger pinned his ears back a bit and narrowed his eyes in concern.
"Ez...? Are you still....doing that thing? You know, following females around?"
Another thing, Ger still had a concern for Ez's flirtatious nature. One of these days, he will end up hurt and evidently, Ger would feel guilty that he could not help his friend. Just had to make sure he was around for that sort of situation. Actually, Ger had his own bit of flirtatiousness if one called it that. Often times he could call a female 'pretty', 'beautiful', 'lovely', 'graceful', 'elegant', the list goes on. Males would be 'strong', 'handsome', 'cool', etc. Perhaps, Ger is just used to praising others.
The younger lion just smiled his charming, sweet smile.
