Umm, yea. I got a question. For those who have seen the OVAs of RuroKen do you know: you know, nearing the end of one of the movies, possibly heart Reflections heart , what Kenshin was suffering from. Earlier on you see a giant red and black blotch line going across his upper body. For some reason it stuck in my mind that he had Typhus but I do not know so that's why I am asking.

biggrin Thanks much. 3nodding

I've been told Tuberculosis, and I've also been told Syphillis. I've decided that it's Tuberculsyphillis. XD But it could be Typhus. I'm not 0 what it is, but you're probably right.

I researched the disease and one of its forms (Scrub Typhus I believe it was) it creates a kind-of a black and red, I think, scab on the body. Which, in one scene of the OVA, you see this giant scab like looking thing going across Kenshin's torso.

**Shrugs** Makes sense to me. However the one thing that confuses me is that it seems to be transmitted through intercourse (which is how Kaoru got it), but it's not an STD, is it?

I don't think Typhus is an STD. I have to read it again to see how it is passedd, if possible. sweatdrop

I was checking out Syphilis actually, and apparently it too has it where you can get some bizarre blotches and rashes on your skin as well.

Hmmm.... interesting neutral . Hopefully I'll be getting the movies this Christmas so I watch in depth to what happens and maybe I'll find out.
The reason I asked was for FanFiction purposes in case I use the info in one sweatdrop .

While no specific disease is mentioned, I've heard convincing arguments that it is syphalis. The reasoning being
1) the symptoms match
2) It can be spread through blood to blood contact or as an STD.
3) There were epidemics of syphalis in that historical time period (Kaoru mentions that one of the things Kenshin did after he stopped using his sword was care for the sick).

Good points. The reason I thought it might be Scrub Typhus was because of a sppecific symptom where the person ends up with a black scab. It also said that it was also commonly found in Japan an in regions near it.
