The usual heat of the desert was cooling down slightly something that had Kamin greatly relived. His super short fur had turned out to be a curse in this enviroment, giving him very little protection from the sun's harmful rays. It had been often that he had ended up with burns from the giant orange orb, painful ones that were always hot and pealed when they healed. It was a messy business, dealing with such powerful heat and exposure, and it was often that Kamin wondered if he should just give up and move back to his beachy home. The only things that kept him where he was were a Maluess by the name of Evey, whom he was slowly falling for, and his god. Often he asked his god if Evey was the right one for him, but he often got mixed anwers. Not too promising, but he was willing to at least try if she was.

The break in the hot weather was due to the seasons changing. Though it was still blazing and hot enough to fry a parakeet's egg on the temple steps, it was relatively cooler than the norm, and well below freezing at night. The freezing part was far from enjoyable for the inadequite male; his short fur proved too short in this situation. The slightly cooler days, however, were taken as a blessing, and something that he cherished. Where it could be near 100 degrees out in the open, it was easily a comfortable seventy in the shade. And so, there he sat, in the shadow of one of the great pillars of the temple, looking around for something to do.

Aphrodite had hurried quickly away from the rose shrine, expertly weaving her way in and out of the temple; and so far she had come across no other Malu. Luck seemed to be with her today, even if water was scant where she lived. Her feet pattered silently on the soft floors, eyes peering about for any sign of danger. There was nothing to be found, not even a certain pink someone she hoped to avoid at all costs. He was probably out trying to whisp away some woman. Devil child that he was.

The thought made her brow furrow and her tail twitch as she moved. It was hard not to rush things, she so desperately wanted out of this place, but she had to move naturally or others might begin to suspect things. A small shuffle nearby almost startled her into a run, but she flicked an ear back instead.

There, lying in the shadows was a rather humble looking Malu. She winced and closed her eyes; stopped midstep. There was no moving now, he'd obviously noticed she'd seen him. Not talking might seem rude and most certainly odd. Then she might be pursued, watched, or worse. They probably all had ideas like Eros. Without a god, you deserved death. She shuddered at the amount of pain and suffering these creatures caused within themselves. They were her own race, yes, but often times she thought of them as something entirely different. They were so different from her - with their little god voices. She stayed far away when she could, but today wasn't faring well in terms of avoidance.

"Oi," she said, shuffling to face the other a little better. She didn't step closer in hopes he might be hostile and shrug her off. Not only that, but perhaps her extra set of wings wouldn't be visible from such a distance. People liked to ask about them. Strange things.

Kamin crossed his paws lightly, letting loose a long, much appreciated yawn. He was bored, lacking social stimulus, and didn't care for much excitement. If he really wanted a good one, he'd go off and find the young Gabriel, crazy as he was. The kid was like a spring, always ready to punce into the fountains and soak him through good. His gaze shifted to inside the temple, where a Maluess he had yet to see was moving at an oddly hastey pace away from the shrines. He cocked his head a bit, preferring to watch from afar for a few moments. When her gaze grew to one of slight horror, he knew she knew that he was watching. Most of the Malu he gazed at didn't react in such a flighty, jumpy way as she, however. He raised a brow, slightly interested. She was acting almost guilty, as if she had done some awful deed and wished no one to know of it.

His curiosity sparked, he smiled cheerfully. "Hey there, stranger." He tried to sound as smooth as he possibley good, as little of a threat as possible, for she obivously didn't need to be aggitated anymore. That's when he noticed her second pair of wings. Much like Evey, he mused, smirking. It was a rare thing to see a doubley winged Malu, and the only two he knew were quite gorgeous. Well, the only one he knew. He really didn't know this new Maluess before him, but if he did, she would make it two.

(( D: I had NO idea there was more than one two winged Malu. XD That's crazy! ))

Aphrodite wrinkled her nose disdainfully at the other. They were always so friendly at first, but she knew what was lurking there in their imbittered hearts. The very strong inclination to leave was making her paws twitch and she shuffled from foot to foot to try and contain them. He spoke, like most of them did, right after that smile. Some of them wanted things from her, much like her son from other woman, but she wouldn't have such nonsense around her. All the better to toy with them that way. Except she couldn't do such a thing here; in the temple.

Her ears had come forward. The natural thing to do was to look positive and greet the other as any normal Malu would. These vermin were far from normal. Sick bloodthirsty god-sighted bastards. Every single one of them. None the less, she put on one of those legendary smiles that could brighten up a day and knock men senseless - and strode towards the other.

"Stranger indeed," she said with a chuckle, her tail wavering; caught between a mix of fear and fake joy. "Aphrodite," she said, extending her head out for greeting. She wasn't sure if this was customary anymore, but Aphrodite figured some semblance of formal recognition was still practiced by the Malu and he might simply thinker of more ancient practices. It made her all the more intriguing to most.

Kamin grew more and more interested by the second. Every move the female made screamed discomfort, and he couldn't come up with a single reason why. She was so obviousley coming from a shrine, a prayer session even, and to most Malu such a thing was calming. He scrunched his face slightly, contemplating the matter, perhaps even over thinking the situation. What could make this Maluess so jittery and uncomfortable. He became almost as equally set off as he watched her fidget and change face so quickly. Something wasn't right with this picture. Her nervousness was hidden by a greeting, and it just wasn't right. "Nice to meet you, Aphrodite. I am Kamin."

Her sudden mask of comfort and joy was quite disturbing, though enchanting all the same. His eyes were fixated on her peculiar markings, not a gene he had seen around. They were almost washed away by the light, they were so faint in color compared to her white backdrop. Her extremely formal gesture with the head put Kamin slightly on edge, and prompted him to give a deep nod of respect. "I haven't seen you around here... Are you new to the temple?" He could already tell that the conversation was going to be relatively strained, so he settled in to the stone for a long one.

ooc ;; Haha, yeah. Tani's Maluess, Evey is double-winged.

The smile continued to dance across her face, eyes glittering. This one was definately thick minded. If he couldn't figure out what she was this instant, he probably couldn't. The two wings must not give her away, she realized. Perhaps it was more common than she imagined. The Malu seemed to adress her with more fear and shyness than anything else. Perhaps there was just something about her that hid what she was. . . just maybe.

"Pleased to be of your acquaintance," she spoke, far more confident this time. There was even enough strength in her soul for a few more steps towards the other.

"Aye," she answered to his soft spoken words. He must have sensed her unease, and he was trying to take it slow. All the better for her. "I don't plan on staying long." It seemed like a safe enough thing to say. If he was smart, he wouldn't delve much further. "Its a beautiful place, though. Do you live near?"

The sudden pick up in the Maluess's mood put Kamin at a relative ease, though it didn't help his state of mind much. He was entirely confused now, haveing seen a huge array of emotions in such a short time from one creature. Her obvious lack of detail in her words, however, did not provide him more discomfort. His relatively shy nature enjoyed a conversation that was not so personal every once in a while, and not giving out much information was never a bad thing. "Yes, it is quite nice here. I think you'll like it while you stay. Hot as a chili pepper, though." The male turned his head towards the outside for a moment, quite please to be in the shade. Short fur would deem him burned in a very short period time if he were not protected by the great column he was leaning against. "Mm, yes. I live in the Nature pack, down that path over there." He titled his head off to the side. "Though I am not originally from here, I admit."

Ahprodite nodded. It was quite warm where she came from as well. "I think I will." Her eyes searched the area for others, but she could find none.

She followed where he indicated, noting the path that wound its way down and around. She'd have to remember that. Nature pack, down windy path. No matter the case, she was getting ancy.

"I suppose I should get going home," she exclaimed, her eyes flicking towards the setting sun. "You don't mind, do you?"

He had honestly been wondering how long it would take her to get so nervous she'd leave. He was a tad sad to see her leave, as he was quite curious about her and what she was like. She had been so mysterious this entire time that there was a lingering sense of need left in him. Oh well, though, he could just go spend some more time with Evey now that she was departing. Standing as to be more polite and mannerly, Kamin nodded and bowed his head a little. "Well, then. Goodbye, Aphrodite. Maybe I'll see you again sometime? Either way, toodles." He stretched a little and yawned, then stood there for a moment and turned around. "I'll be leaving too, then." And with that, he nodded his head once and jogged down the steps, off in the direction of the path towards the nature pack.
