So anyone else not make rank this cycle? This thread is for us. Hoorah to those too good to be paper pushers. (No offence to those who have rank, and congrats to those who made it). I needed to stay a little lower. I have more sea time then most of my second classes. So they'd be screwed if something broke and someone other than myself was sent to fix it. Besides, I just bought new uniforms and didn't feel like paying for patches to be sewn on yet again.

I'll admiting to having absolutely no idea what is involved in what you are talking about, but I'm sure you can do it! xD @ Nessa: He's talking about being promoted in the military. @ Archangel: What branch are you in? When I think sea time I think Navy, but the "hoorah" makes me think Marines. I know all the branches go to sea though....

I'll admiting to having absolutely no idea what is involved in what you are talking about, but I'm sure you can do it! xD Basically, we have points as well as the exam. After the tests are taken, the Navy figures out how many of each rate (job) needs how many of each rank. Then they determine a score that gives them the needed amount. I have points that weren't counted in. When they first announce results, its for the obvious ones who made rank. Now, if I missed the minimum score to make rank by a couple of points, I can submit paperwork to get my rank. Hopefully, I was that close. sweatdrop

don't worry, you'll get it. To make you feel better, think of your screenname-sake. Even Squall sometimes doesn't make a good rank (especially when I play that game, I'm horrible at FF cool . But no matter his rank he still scores Rinoa right, and she's better than any rank. So too do you still have your girl. None of this big ranks got that now do they? wink

Even Squall sometimes doesn't make a good rank (especially when I play that game, I'm horrible at FF cool . But no matter his rank he still scores Rinoa right, and she's better than any rank. So too do you still have your girl. None of this big ranks got that now do they? wink ^_^ Thanks, she makes me feel superior to the president even. Besides, she really doesn't care if i make rank either. Its Navy by the way.

I mean in about 2 1/2 years he'll be finished with the ACEP program and be a butter bar. I much prefer being an NCO wife but the pay is what it's all about.

Don't knock it, I plan on going officer as well. It was my initial intention. I was lucky enough for the local vets and a couple of my dad's buddies who told me to go enlisted first.

Well from what I've heard and understand, they tend to respect the O-Es a bit more. I just know the biggest thing my husband is going to have to grit through is politics and papers, but he's excited about it. Glad you got a good support system! 3nodding
