Helaku snorted softly as he stood at the edge of the small clearing, and looked down to eye Mai. "You told them to meet us here, right?" At the wolfling's nod, he lifted his head again to scan the meadow. "I just hope at least some of them come...I haven't seen Dyre in...a long time. Or mother, or father. And I'd like to meet my brother's mate...he's mated and I've never even met my sister-in-law." He shook his mane. "Kinda sad when you think about it."

The aging soquili idly picked him way forward, stopping to sniff at a flower, to gaze at the sky.
He felt the excitement in his heart,to meet his foalings and his mate again, what joy.
The smile flitted around his handsome face and Sora trotted into the clearing.

Delphia came galloping through the woods, aiming for the clearing the sweet little furry had told her about. It was a family reunion! They hadn't all been together since the boys had grown up. The idea of her boys being old enough to have mates and foals of their own staggered her.

Her hooves rumbled like low thunder through the forest as she approached the chosen clearing. With a leap she burst into the sunshine of the meeting place. Immediately she saw her beloved stallion and one of her sons. With a trumpeting whinny of greeting, she slowed to a trot to nuzzle first Sora and then Helaku. How she had missed them!

Though she loved Helaku a great deal, even Olathe had apprehensions about finally meeting this family. The whole reunion seemed really important to the masked stallion, however, and so she of course found herself picking through the forest, her mane newly braided by the old woman at the river. She had to look her best.

As she left the security of the trees, she emerged a few yards away from where Helaku stood and smiled, then noted the appearance of two more soquili. Ah...his parents?

She pushed back the bit of shyness that had crept up out of no where and lightly trotted forward, giving all a cheerful smile, but Helaku the widest of them all.

Excitement brewed within his stomach as he moved with cautious effort through the wooded area with his mate. The reunion momentarily clouded his mind, engulfing every thought and emotion. But soon those thoughts would pass, and his focus would return to Maize and what miracles accompanied her.

He could sense something rather familiar within the air and knew that his family was near. This caused his eyes to grow wide, and his head to be lifted just slightly within the air. He was proud of himself and Maize, proud to have her as his mate, and proud to introduce her to his family.

A quick glance was cast back to Maize, followed by a reassuring nod. Soon everyone came into view.. along with someone new! Happiness filled his face, as he greeted everyone warmly.

The forest moved like a blur as the heavy mare took extra caution to wander deeper with Dyre. Maize was more anxious than she had ever been before, as she was due any day now. "Dyre... Slow down," she mumbled, gaze darting from ground to tree. Fear of tripping over something or running into a tree inhibited her true feelings; something very joyous, she knew, was going to occur very soon, but the well-being of herself and her future came first. Soon, Dyre seemed to move ahead, leaving her a bit behind. The mare huffed and flapped her wings once, letting out a big gust of wing as well as partial frustration. Ah, well--wasn't his fault she found it troublesome to quicken her pace in her current status. She wondered just what it was that excited the stallion so. A small smile lit up her face, her mate's engagement with the situation influencing hers.

As the two closed in on their goal destination, Maize sensed something welling up in her mate. Pride...? Joy? As he turned his head around to her, she paused, startled, almost. A tilt of her head indicted her slight confusion of the situation, but as she looked past Dyre's head, she herself grew wide eyes.

She continued onwards with Dyre, feeling a bit out of place, though very much eager at the same time. She did not even consider how awkward she looked with her round belly, or how different she appeared with the addition of her wings--but then again, she never really did consider herself winged, spending most of her life ignoring the spirit-given appendages. Smiles plagued her face as her mate greeted his family--she knew she recognized something familiar in the gathered soquili, save for the blue one. Perhaps it was a close family friend. "Hello," she mouthed out, exhibiting the meek characteristics his father once displayed. She was unable to act out first, unless Dyre had.

Helaku burst into a smile as he saw his mate, a good deal of the nerves he'd been feeling fleeing at the sight of her. The smile grew wider as his parents came near, but it was his eyes that grew wide at the sight of Dyre and his mate. Was she...pregnant?! "Mother...father...brother...Olathe..." he dipped his head respectfully to the expecting mare. "And...I don't believe I know your name, but thank you was well for coming." He lifted his head. "'Tis been too long since we've all seen each other, hasn't it? I'm ashamed I don't even know the name of my brother's mate...and..." He nuzzled Olathe's shoulder shyly. "This is my own mate, Olathe. Olathe, these are my parents, Sora and Delphia, and my brother Dyre." He shifted his hooves, a little bit of nervousness returning.

The aging stallion stood in surprise, hardly comprehending the appearance of these strapping young soquilis, filled with fire of the earth and new breathe of spring.
His mate remained the one familiar scent and sight as he nuzzled her lovingly, glad to be by her side once again. "They....are our sons?" he asked her in a slight whisper, still gazing at the lads with pride and joy in his eyes.
Sora gently bowed his heads to the mares, the smile on his face showing how delighted he was to see them in the family. He could sense the warmth from the winged mare by Dyre's side, and remembered the same condition his Delphie had been in when she foaled their two sons.
His ears fluttered with unconcious happiness.

Delphia could not contain her joy. She rushed over to lay a kiss on each of her son's noses before greeting their mates with as much love as she could. First was Olathe, whom she whinnied a pleased greeting to. "How nice to see you again, my dear!" She nuzzled the pretty mare affectionately. "It's a shame you haven't gotten to see T'Cora more, being her adopted aunt as you are! She is grown into a lovely young thing. You will have to search her out sometime." Her ears flickered as she considered her adopted daughter. "It didn't occur to me to call her here as well, but she isn't at the teepee very often. She spedns her days wandering the forests and beaches." She returned her attention to Olathe. "But it is lovely to see you."

And then here was Dyre's mate. Delphia approached more calmlly, not wanting to frighten the shy mare. She blew softly through her nostrils and spoke warmly. "And welcome to the family, you and your foals." She beamed proudly at both Dyre and his winged mate. "And what is your name, child?" The older mare smiled at them both, glowing with the thought of more foals of her own line. The family would continue to grow.

Olathe smiled and gently nuzzled her mate's cheek in greeting before casting her gaze to the new faces nearby. How amusing that she was the only one of a brighter color here...though gray was lovely too in it's own way. It made her feel a little self-concious.

"Hello again, Delphia," she said politely, with a slight bow of the head after the nuzzled greeting, and flashed a cheerful smile. "I do apologize for not seeing T'Cora lately, but I've been playing babysitter again! For my sister own foals, no less." She chuckled and rolled her eyes as if to say 'you know how that goes'.

"And hello to you all whom I've yet to properly meet before today," she said in reference to the two other stallions and the round-bellied mare. "I'm very happy to finally meet you all...and congradulations to you, on your foals," she added as an after thought, a genuine smile on her face. The poor dear looked as though she was going to explode at any moment.
