On the same rock again sat Mythos, eyes closed and conscious clear of any thoughts. He had become a stable Malu for a very long time now and his all the same smile was constantly on his face. Ah, the joyful times of being so care free and relaxation that helped this mallard so. It was great. One thought that would never be forgotten by him was Elina and how she left him. He would never forgive himself and for years to come, he wouldn't forget, but tried to block those feelings from causing him disturbance and problems.
Suddenly, something slithered behind the mallard. It was a snake, and not just any snake. It was the same snake that had attempted to attack Elina when Mythos defended her against the slithering serpent. It had found Mythos somehow and was on a stealthy strike on the mallard and Mythos would not have a clue...

Sighing softly as she strode along, Elina had made peace with her emotions as well as Amadeus. She had come to realize through his relationship with Vivaldi, that it was not the end if she had been abandoned by her own parents....yet it was a blessing to have found someone as selfless and kind as Mythos. Now, she knew it was time to patch it up between her foster father, yet how could she say sorry for what she had done to him so long ago? Indeed, she had grown, nearing the end of her teenage years as she did gain some height. All she hoped was that he would accept her apology.
Approaching the rock Mythos usually resided on, her eyes lit up as she saw the familliar male there. About to run and greet him, her eyes widened as she noticed another familliar face...that of the snake from her youth. Acting on pure instinct, the young green maluess used her speed to bolt out into the clearing as there was no time; the snake about to strike. "Dad! Look out!" She yelled as she leap into the air, outstretching her paws as she caught the snake's head in mid air and brough it quickly to the ground, using her body weight to try and keep it down as it hissed and thrashed his body around.

Still relaxing, Mythos would not have any idea about the oncoming snake that was surely going to kill him. Was this the end of Mythos? the roamer and the legend of the rivers? Not at all as Elina had appeared quickly, acting out in swift pace to prevent the snake from striking the mallard. This prompted Mythos' eyes to suddenly bolt open, hearing the hiss of the snake and also... hearing Elina's familiar voice and her calling him... dad?!
Quickly stepping off the rock, Mythos looked back, seeing Elina hold the snake down by his head as it wiggled around in frantic motions, attempting to break free. It can't be? the same snake? he just never gave up. But what was the bigger surprise was the sudden return of Elina and my had she grown into a very beautiful young lady. Mythos just could not understand what was going on, but he had to start from small first.
Going was the snake, as Elina held the serpent down by it's head, Mythos went behind and grabbed it's tail, pulling it from under Elina's paw and launching the snake into the distance, much like he did the first time he met Elina and saved her from the poisonous reptile. Immediately turning his head so face Elina, Mythos just stared at her for a brief moment and gave a surprised smile. "My god Elina. You've grown so much! look at you! You're a beautiful lady now!" He said, smiling, as he looked at her more and more, obviously missing her but he just couldn't admit it, not after what happened last time.
But wait, she called him Dad just moments earlier when she flew to save him from the snake. She even saved his life. Does this mean? "Elina... You... You called me Dad... But why? You know i'm not father..." He said, lowering his head slightly, looking at the ground beneath him, raising his head slightly and seeing her paws before his and then raising his head to look at her in her eyes that he truly saw as his own 'daughter'

Slowly stepping off the snake as Mythos secured its tail in his mouth before using his strong muscles to fling the snake away...much like the first time they had met. Turning her head to watch the snake become airborne, her gaze shifted so look back at Mythos as he looked suprised. Smiling softly herself, she scratched the dirt lightly with her paws in a shy mannor about the compliment. He really hadn't changed at all since she had left...he just looked a little sadder then she was used to.
"Thank you....I'm finally growing more, now I don't need to crane my neck up to look at everyone." She chuckled, her brown eyes remaining locked on Mythos as he remained watching her as if still in disbelief she was even there. Somehow...she couldn't blame him after she had run off the way she did.
Yet, there the question came...about her instinctal yell to protect the one she knew only as father. Blushing softly, her own eyes met her paws in sync with Mythos, feeling the heat in her cheeks. It was at this time that she also felt her vision blur with the tears which threatened to fall to her cheeks, and knowing what she had to do, she swiftly stepped forth and nuzzled her head against his neck to rest on the back of his neck. "I know, and I don't care anymore. You're the closest thing i've ever had to a family...to a father. I'm sorry I could not see that erlier, yet tradition blurred my vision to the point where I was blind. Blood doesn't matter, no...its what one feels in their heart which is how things should be. As far as I am conserned, I love you because you are my father. I couldn't ask for anything better.." She sniffled slightly, closing her eyes as she tried to bury her face in his fur like she did when she was but an infant.

She appeared to be blushing from what Mythos could see. That was odd, she should be telling him off about lying to her. She had the maturity for it now, but she seemed to have enjoyed calling him father and the way she looked at Mythos, it appeared that Elina did truly consider the mallard as her father. Then something unexpected happened. Elina got close to Mythos and rubbed around his neck, a sign of her love for him and gratitude that he took care of her. Mythos just could not believe it. His eyes stood wide open, feeling her against her neck. It was if time had reversed and Elina was a child again when Mythos found her and she showed her love for him the same way.
Listening to her talk about how Mythos was a closer father figure to her than anyone else, even her real parents of which she had never met, Mythos' smile had grown wider, and the same cheerful smile returned to his expression that he held before when he took care of Elina when she was just a child. "E... Elina... I really... don't know what to say. You... consider me your father? I'm greatful! And you are... my daughter. I'll take care of you like my own, even though you're mature enough now by yourself." He said, laughing a bit as his cheerful all time expression came to his face. The old Mythos was back. "Where did you run off to by the way? Where you with Amadeus?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow. He didn't mind Amadeus, he was a nice boy and would obviously take care of Elina dearly.

"Heh, No matter how old i'll get, i'll still need my daddy." Elina smiled and nuzzled his neck before taking a step back from the Mallard. Taking a seat on her rump, her ears perked and her head cocked to the side as she listened to his questions before blushing once again. It seemed to be a bad habit as of late.
"I ended up running out to the desert for a while. I met up with a few Malu's out there....yet ended up coming back to check up on everyone before I was going to head out again. Thats where I ended up meeting with Amadeus and his Foster father, Vivaldi." Elina looked up to the sky with a smile, remembering how nice his shrine was with all the roses and smells. It was paradise. Looking back down, she continued, "They ended up showing me the light, in a sense...and then I had to come find you." At his last question, her blush came back tenfold, sheepishly looking down to the ground. "Well...Daddy. I really, really like Amadeus. I know I want to be with him, for a long time." She glanced up, wondering what he would say.

Mythos listened, still smiling as Elina talked of her journey in the desert and the meeting of Amadeus and Vivaldi. His thought began to think a bit. It seemed clear that Elina did see the mallard as truly a father figure and Mythos smiled at her even more. "You are my daugther, even if not by blood, but by heart and i'll take care of you with all my dearest might." He nodded, giving her his reassurance of his love for her.
"Amadeus seems like a nice boy." Mythos said, nodding as he looked at Elina blush at the talk of him. Mythos was not one to judge who Elina should see or not, but he was careful for anyone to not hurt her. "Well... as long as he loves you for who you are and doesn't hurt you any way." He nodded, again with the same smile that gave a significant calming to anyone that saw it. "Just remember who you are and be true to yourself, my daughter. Shine in the unique light that is given to you, Elina." He nodded and then looked toward the distance of the of the forest. That path led to the desert where it would take them to the temple. "Do you want to make a trip down to the temple?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow. Mythos would go there regularly now, just to listen to his good or just relax.

"I would love to, Father." Standing, she smiled and awaited for Mythos to do the same before she would continue walking. The temple had been her home, even though she loved this place dearly...somehow she felt more at peace with all the other malu bustling around the stone corridors. Also...thats where her heart resided...
"Oh, he is. He is very kind, and moral. He would never hurt me." She nodded quite assured of herself, Amadeus had ever said so himself that he didn't know he would do if harm had come to her, or his family. Often, she felt the same way about him...which was probably why they felt so close to one another. Giggling at her father's words, she smiled as they warmed her heart, casting him a sideways glance. "You always are so wise, Father. I won't lose myself...not ever. Besides...what have you been up to as of late?"

Mythos smiled, as they both walked the path toward the temple, entering the desert, calmly walking, slowly to talk to each other and catch up a bit. Mythos just couldn't believe she was back. His daughter, and truly his daughter, Elina; She had returned. Hearing her talk about Amadeus so grandly, it was obvious that Elina was in love with Amadeus and Mythos and that pleased the mallard Malu, seeing his daughter all happy. "You love him, don't you?" Mythos asked smiling at her, knowing she would blush at that remark.
Of course, Mythos still owed the answer of what he had been up to in the while she had departed him. "Well, not much. Roaming the rivers, meeting new people. Like Karma" He said, nodding to himself as he smiled upon saying her name. Elina didn't know about Karma but Mythos was shy to reveal anything about her. He tried to not show that he liked Karma in front of Elina so he just maintained a casual smile like he always did and tried not to let off any unwanted vibes.
