Personaly, I say that PS3 will go down the drain becuase
1) WAY too expensive for what it can do. 2) The games that first came out for it were already going to be, or already were, for other game systems, so, what's the point? Come up with something original!
and 3) I hate Sony in General, but, that's just me.
I would have to say that I think the Xbox 360 and Wii will be the biggest hits out of three, untill the next gen. systems come out.
What does everyone else think? Have you boughten one of these already? If you have, give us a review on what you think about it! We wanna know!

There are currently only three things holding down the Wii's complete and utter dominance of the video game field.
1. The XBox 360 has the Wii beat on performance, as does the PS3. Some have even put forth that the GameCube could muster better luster than the Wii's 'petty excuse for next-gen graphics'. They cite Resident Evil 4 on the Cube looks better than Zelda: TP.
My Counter: If Nintendo upped the processing power, they would also have to up the price; the economics of the system is where the Wii truly dominates.
2. No DVD function. PS3 has Blu-Ray, XBox 360 has HD.
My Counter: Again, up the content, up the price. Besides, Having a PS2 double as a DVD player was once a great deal, now (if you know where to look) someone can find a regular DVD player for $20 or less. As soon as the price for HD televisions drop (which they are) and the availability of HD/Blu-Ray DVD players increases (Prices of them drop too), it will not be such a huge deal that the systems can play these kinds of movies. Besides, who wants to buy another $20-$30 DVD of a movie he/she already has, just to see that clear background or that layer of glistening sweat on the lead character?
3. Expensive controllers. The two part controller goes for $70! That's too expensive.
My Counter: Now this is one where I can't fight for the logic, because I do not understand the logic myself. If I knew the exact price of how much each Nun-chuck/Wiimote cost to produce, I would have some logistical ammo I could fire at my Sony/Microsoft loving opponents. The only thing I can do is belittle their own systems. The PS3 currently has 'cheap' third-party controllers going for $40 (with no SIXAXIS movement) and Sony brand controllers costing $50 w/SIXAXIS movement (although they are frequently sold out). The XBox 360 has $50 for Microsoft brand wireless controllers, and $40 for third-party wired controllers, and that's not including the $20-$30 headset for voice communication. So before you bash the Wii's prices, the other systems' controller prices aren't that far off.
Edit: All prices are attained from bestbuy.com as of Dec. 10, 2006.
