===============================

The moon is high in the night star-speckled skies and the sound of nocturnal creatures going on with their own business. The moonbeams smiles down on the glassy surface of the lake and reflects onto the black striped silvery stallion whom is walking along the lake admiring his reflection in the lake.
He was out for a walk since he couldn't sleep tonight, his silverish/bluish streaked black hair brushes against his body while his tail virtually disappears in the dark grass. Not knowing that this night will be the most eventful night of his life, Zahariah stops near the tree by the lake and he sighs softly, looking at his reflection. "I wonder...." He muses to himself.

This night felt ominous, he mused to himself, as he seemed to glide along the dew-touched grass surrounding a beautiful lake. His movements were painted with a grace of someone trained in the ways of a warrior, while at the same time it seemed like it was the moonlight that glinted off of his entired personage that gave him the look of a beautiful creature. Blood-red eyes scanned the jeweled beauty of the night tainted area, roving around as he personally admired everything before he spotted a glistening of silver...

He paused and his wandering gaze did a double-take when he saw that there was another one here--another stallion--and his smoothed movements were stopped, for he had been surprised. Covering up his momentary loss of control on his emotions, he silently threaded his way through the soft lake grass and toward the stallion. There was something too suspicious about this night, but he decided he would ignore it--for now. If this stallion knew the mare he was searching for, he wouldn't pass up the chance for it... however... something in his gut told him he should probably get away before it was too late.

Too late for what, he wasn't sure.

Why did the fates bring me here....

That question have been haunting his mind ever since he arrived, Zahariah shakes his head and decides to grab some gulp of water. So thats what he did, he stands near the edge of the water and proceeds in drinking but the feeling of dread of antipication is still there and he couldn't seem to shake that feeling off. His tail flicks over to next patch of the grass since he starts to feel restless.

His molten eyes spots something approaching him and they widen when he sees that it is kalona. There is something weird about this particular kalona as he raises his head up from the water and raises his eyebrows (if he had any) when he sees that this particular kalona have LONG hair instead of the regular hairdo he usually see on kalonas. He tries not to laugh as he watches the kalona curiously, he doesn't want to make the first move so he stands there like a statue with his eyes fixed on Windflame.

Ah, the silver stallion had noticed him, he mused. He decided to approach a little closer until they were one horse bodylength away from each other, and then he spoke. "Greetings," he began solemnly, red eyes somehow managing to sparkle from the moonlight, though they indicated no emotion other than pure curiosity. The single word he spoke seemed to ring throughout the air, almost--if he forced himself to think toward that area--as if there was going to be something spectacular happening this night, though in a way he felt as if he should seriously back away... now.

Of course, being that his curiosity overruled his instinct, he continued to stand there, feeling somewhat idiotic. First, he had to deal with the craziest of all stallions--Bairn--and then he meets yet another stallion who seemed to have caught his attention in a peculiar way. Why was he so interested all of a sudden? If he didn't know any better he'd almost claim this was a "love-at-first-sight" feeling, but he didn't want to go towards that area--he liked mares, not stallions. What in the world was wrong with him? Windflame fumbled within his mind over this strange concept, this odd feeling of expectation and excitement, and of dread and fear.

Zahariah watches the kalona walk toward him and he silently wills his legs to turn around and carry him away so he wouldn't have to deal with godforsaken creatures like kalonas. He silently curses his body when he sees that the kalona is already in front of him without him noticing that since he was too busy urging his body to carry him off. "Hello. How are you?" He says in tense voice.

The feelings inside him is so uncomfortably familiar to him, those feelings he usually feels for the mares but he does like some stallions due to his bisexual preferences. He never really was the one to like any kalonas due to the rumors and his previous experience with them when he was a foal. He stares at the kalona and without even knowing, the words "Why do you have long hair?" sprang out of his mouth.

Windflame tensed himself, feeling the tension of the other male in front of him, and he backed away, suddenly feeling sour at being rejected... and having absolutely no idea why he was feeling that way. What way? He mentally snorted to himself. He shouldn't be feeling a thing at all, but for slight curiosity. And yet... there was something about this stallion that attracted his attention... a lot.

He tilted his head in a regal move, acknowledging the smaller stallion's question. "This one ist fine. And thou?" he returned sharply, but politely. The tension was getting to him, and he had to quickly avert his eyes, for fear of being far too attracted... he couldn't put a hoof on why this stallion held his attention--eyes, mind, and... no, not yet, not yet the soul--and he frowned at himself, gazing into the sparkling lake, lit up by the fireflies and the moon and stars surrounding them.

The next question threw him off guard, and he turned and blinked at the silver, black-striped stallion. "Why dost thou ask such a strange question? The reason... 'tis a symbol of this one," he said carefully, nearly stammering but managing to catch himself.

Zahariah felt his legs finally cooperating as he backs away from Windflame but he felt this pull inside his chest that is pulling him back toward Windflame. His mind screams in protest as he rears up to stop his legs from bringing him closer to Windflame. He frowns visibly, not caring if Windflame sees teh frown. He blinks at the odd language that was being spoken by the kalona.

W...t....f?

He thinks to himself before he shrugs lightly. "I am fine.. I think." He blinks as he stays at least 2 horse length away from Windflame feeling like he need to turn around and just flee for his sanity and perhaps his life. "I... see." He raises his eyebrow as he eyes the plaits. "Erm... how do you walk without tripping all over that hair?"

Somehow, Windflame found himself wondering how on earth he ended up here, in this surreal moment, in an oddly romantic looking place, with another stallion. Emotions he never felt before except for one mare arose within him, and he automatically stomped down on them; so brutally, in fact, he nearly lost consciousness due to his mind working in overdrive. Ah... he did it again, didn't he? He blamed his herd leader for teaching him to speak the way he did, and grumbled mentally about why he just had to speak this way... for the fifteenth trillion time.

He spoke. Windflame tried not to show too much emotion and nodded solemnly. "Ah~?" He did blink, a little startled to hear the oddest question of his life yet to be asked. He had been asked "how art thou a polite kalona" by another stallion who hadn't meant to mock him and had thought that Windflame had been playing around speaking as he did with the old language, and now... this? How doth this one walk without tripping over mine hair? he mused. "This one... this one just... does it. 'Tis no thought involved...?" He was trained since he came out of his basket to walk smoothly and gracefully, and the hair--his mane and tail--well, he wasn't even sure. He just kinda... did it... somehow...

Zahariah blankly stares at Windflame, not sure what to say or do about this situation and to be honest, Windflame is freaking the crap out of this particular silver tigerish stallion which is very rare thing to do. He clears his throat as he turns his head toward the lake.

Oh boy.. Oh boy oh boy.. what did I get myself into?! I need to leave... like.. now.. gonk

Zahariah nods lightly at Windflame's response before he offers a faint smile. "Oh.. I see. Erm.. this is awkward moment here.." He laughs weakly before he decides to try to drown himself (well to drink so he couldn't talk) as he buries his muzzle in the lake water, he closes his eyes as he pretends to enjoy the chillingly cold water sliding down his throat. He chokes as he drank too much. "ack!!"

Windflame raised his eyebrow (or tried to, since horses don't have eyebrows) at this stallion's odd behavior. He wasn't even sure what was going on, and then when the silver somewhat-tiger-like stallion nearly killed himself drinking the freezing lake water, he barely hid a smirk--barely. The stallion was quite amusing. And suddenly, a revelation hit him as he realized neither of them had introduced themselves, and he mentally smacked his head against a tree trunk.

"Sir..." he began slowly, "Hast thou a name? This one... thou mayst call this one Windflame Bloodrider... or Windflame, if thou wish." He was plainly ignoring the stallion's odd behavior, for he now found it boring and was more interested in getting to know the stallion's name, for perhaps this male knew of the female he searche for... and no, he wasn't doing this to cover up anything... nope...!

Zahariah coughs violently as he turns his head away from Windflame not wanting him to see this stallion have one of his coughing jags whenever he drinks too fast. He turns his head toward Winflame when the kalona spoke, he blinks slowly. It took him few minutes to realize that another male was asking for his name and telling him his name. "Oh!!! I am Zahariah. Its nice to meet you, Windflame Bloodrider. I don't think I have any last name." He blinks again. It was embarassingly obivious that he is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

If it was even possible, Windflame would have quirked an eyebrow at Zahariah's behavior. It was odd, amusing, and yet, he could not get himself motivated enough to laugh. However, he did wonder if this stallion had even realized he'd pratically cut off his air supply by thrusting his muzzle into the cold, clear water. Shrugging it off, and pretending to not notice the silver stallion's sudden coughing spasm.

He paused as Zahariah said his entire name, and wondered if the stallion would continue to call him by both his first and last name. Shrugging--after all, it wasn't too big of an issue with him--his blood-red eyes scanned the area around them once more. Satisfied that they were alone and safe, he relaxed. Wings closed against his sides tightly, making him seem a lot larger. He flicked his tail--ah, a couple hairs were becoming loose...--and then nodded. "'Tis a great pleasure to meet thee, Zahariah," he said smoothly, in that deep voice of his.

One could only wonder why he had a pleasant sounding voice rather than the rough kind... but then again, he wasn't sure if all Kalona had that gruff kind of sound and figured it was just his brother.

Zahariah coughs as he jerks his head back and forth before he frowns at himself knowing that this particular kalona have caught his coughing spasm but he is very grateful that this kalona decided not to say anything. He clears his throat as he tries to look poised and graceful with water trickling down his muzzle.

Zahariah watches Windrider warily when he made himself bigger, he implusively stepped backward while his tail flicks back and forth agiatedly. If he was a human, he would put his hands behind his head and looks like nothing of this fazes him but since he is a soquili, he stood there looking nonchalnatly. "Its my pleasure, Windrider.." He says in quiet voice. Zahariah looks around at the surrounding to see if he could make one clean escape before the kalona could think about eating him alive.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 19, 2006 8:48 am

He started a bit, surprised--that was a first in a long, long time!--when he heard what Zahariah had called him. Windrider...? "Thou hath this one's agreement, Zahariah..." he said carefully. "However, this one's name is Windflame Bloodrider. Didst thou make a mistake in mine name?" Unless, of course, the stallion had merely taken a part of his first name and a part of his last name and strung them together. That was a new one... "Windrider"... Well, he had his wings, and he certainly "rode" upon the wind, but...

...Throwing aside his thoughts--they were getting jumbled together in confusion--he nodded to the silver stallion. "Doth thou knowth where to find apples? This one hast had an unsuccessful search." His stomach growled, and he frowned. How long had it been since he last ate? He looked around before he spotted something moving in the corner of his eye. Hunger called him greatly to feast on this little beast of flesh, but he hated eating meat in front of an herbivore, and so he resisted. Besides, if Zahariah could find some apples, he'd fill his appetite with those instead... they were satisfactory enough.

Zahariah shakes his head as he glances at the kalona warily. "Nah.. I usually give other soquilis name I could remember and yours is Windrider unless you have any objection to that?" Zahariah says calmly before his molten golden eyes drifts over to the apple trees.

"Hmm... there is some apples nearby... " Zahariah nods to the small patch of apple trees on their right. "But you can eat meat if you want..." He says in bland voice as he turns around, walking toward the apple trees. "I will give you some privacy if you do choose to eat meat." He says in nonchalant voice while he breaks out in trot, trotting over to nearest apple tree. "Yummy.." He mumurs as he rears up, using his teeth to yank one apple off the branch.
