It was a bright and sunny day. Birds were chirping. The sun was shining. Employees were playing, and that didn't even bother Aiden. He decided that he would check up on his underling. Or mentee. Or whatever you called it.
Walking up to the trailer in which Lucrezia was staying, he tapped the door a couple times. He felt like he should check up on her, just to see how she was doing. And if she needed anything. He was her mentor, after all. He waited for a few minutes, and then looked around, rocking on his feet until she came to the door.

Somewhere from outside the wall of pounding water, Lucrezia heard a knock on the door. And then again. Indoor plumbing was a marvelous invention, but it did nothing to block out mundane little things like people coming to call at inconvenient times. Like when your hair was full of soap.
Turning off the water and fumbling around for her towel, Lucrezia stepped out into the cramped washroom and rushed to get dressed. Her hair was soaked and she could feel it dripping unpleasantly onto the back of her shirt, but there were more urgent things to do. After giving herself a quick glance-over to make sure she was decent, she hurried into the main room and opened the door.
"Bonjour?" she asked, blinking out into the obnoxiously bright morning. It took her a moment to pick up on who was standing on the steps.
"Oh! Hello, sir."
She wrung her bare hands nervously.
"Ca va?"

Aiden instantly wondered if he'd come at the wrong time, noticing that Lucrezia was all wet. He raised an eyebrow, and pointed elsewhere.
"I'm fine, thanks. Should I come back at a different time? I hate to intrude, or anything..."
He let himself trail off. He thought that he was being a good mentor, not that he was bothering his mentee.

"Que?" She blinked, reaching somewhere out of sight from the door and grabbing a towel to wrap around her hair. That done, she assured him, "No, it's fine. Nothing important. I was done, anyway."
She wrung her hands again and rubbed them against her pants.
"Anything important going on?"

"Oh, no," Aiden responded, smiling, "I was just checking on you. How's the Cirque life treating you? Getting along with everyone?"
"Do you need any help? Something that I should do, as my mentor duties? Or, do you just want to chat?" Aiden was asking entirely too many questions, as he wasn't particularly sure as to what Lucrezia needed in a mentor. So, he figured that'd he'd just ask a bunch of questions. It made sense to him.

Lucrezia considered it a moment before deciding which question she wanted to ask. "I want to know about this world jumping thing." she stated. "Is it technology, or is it magic? Because by now I've seen both to extremes that they kind of blur."
She paused, trying to think of another reason. "And because I have a feeling that there's another jump coming up, and I want to know where and when to go to help with rigging."

"Well...I. Er," Aiden tried to firgure out how to explain this.
"It's a pretty difficult process," He said, as that was the best that he could come up with. "I don't quite know all about it myself."
"Oh, and for the rigging, we'll just kinda find that out as we go along."

That wasn't a very satisfying answer, But Lucrezia figured she'd learn more later about the travelling. After all, a good magician didn't reveal his tricks.
"Can you tell me when we're planning to leave Gaia?" she asked. Silently, she added something along the lines of 'the sooner the better.'

Did Lucrezia seem a bit anxious about leaving? Maybe it was just his imagination. Or maybe it wasn't. "Sometime soon, I think," Aiden said, trying to think of exactly when they were leaving. It was written down. Somewhere.
"So, other than that is everything okay? Met some people? Made some friends?"

"A few," she shrugged, not wanting to get onto the topic of Hadrian. That had been a few days ago, and yet it still puzzled her. "There are still people I haven't met yet, though. Was it you who told me to introduce myself to Dahli? I can't seem to find her."
She held up a finger in a 'hold that thought' gesture and ducked back inside the trailer. She re-emerged a moment later, towel gone, shoes on her feet, and grip wraps in hand. She shut the door behind her and set to work tying them.
"So, everyone just wakes up one day and we're somewhere totally new?"

"Yes, you should meet Dahli. She might be able to explain world-hopping better than I," Aiden said, as he nodded slightly.
Aiden waited as Lucrezia went back inside, and was shocked at how quickly she came back out. Fully dressed, and everything.
"More or less, yeah," He responded to her question on world hopping. She seemed so fascinated by it, and it puzzled Aiden. Perhaps he had just seen it happen too many times.

"That sounds interesting," Lucrezia replied, tying the wrap on her left hand and testing the tightness. It seemed to satisfy her and she moved on to her right hand, wrapping the cloth strips methodically around her palms.
"What kinds of acts are there in the show right now?" she asked. To be truthful, she hadn't seen it all the way through right now and hadn't totally guessed what each person she had met did within the cirque. Well, aside from the ones who had flat out told her.

"Acts right now? Hmm," Aiden tried to remember them all.
"There's a psychic. And a knife-thrower. There's you; there's a bubble-blower. There's a medium," Aiden simply couldn't remember some of the others, as he himself hadn't met them all. He just remembered signing papers and helping select who seemed interesting enough for Cirque.
"There's a fish-something. And there are a coulpe who work with fire. Or something like that..."

"Well, that's a good variety," Lucrezia replied, considering the acts he had just listed. Fish something? That had to be Hadrian, with all the holding-his-breath stuff. She instinctively frowned, remembering his bizarre behavior.
Maybe he had water on the brain. That would make sense.
"And..." she paused, wondering if it would sound forward. "I was wondering what kinds of things I need to take care of before I can consider putting a performance piece together."
Hopefully that wording was more subtle that 'getting an act.'

Aiden frowned at her, clearly not understanding what she meant. Perhaps, if he had been fully paying attention, it would've made sense, but he hadn't. He had other things that he was thinking about. He cursed himself for seeming so unprofessional, and glanced back at Lucrezia.
"Huh?" And then, promptly correcting himself, "Excuse me? What do you mean exactly? I mean, what do you mean by 'things you need to take care of'?"
