In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (dated November 27th), Dave Meltzer is reporting that Vince McMahon has already agreed to a Batista vs Undertaker match, in a 'world title vs. WM streak' match at Wrestlemania 23. Probably the most significant thing written is that Batista is the one planned to get the win, at this point. - From Wrestlezone... If this seriously happens, I'll try to drink my brains, through a straw.

If that happens, goodbye WWE for me.
On a personal level, I hate the thought of ruining one of the best legacies in wrestling history. But on a more serious level, I just want to say that while Wrestlezone is a fairly reasonable reporting sight, but I have found that these guys are what The Minority Report on wrestling-news.com would call:
SuuuuperNeeerds!!!
I wouldn't think too much on the claim because at one point they were considering a Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. John Cena match for WM23. And we all know that it would be dumb s**t on McMahon's part to do that because that's basically the best way to kill their poster boy, or kill one of the biggest icons in WWE's history. The same thing goes for Taker vs. Batista. On the one hand, you got Batista getting probably the biggest claim that anyone in the WWE could ever possibly have: Defeating the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Screw 16 World titles, screw any famous faction, screw pioneering any sort of division, you will be considered either a god or the most hated figure in wrestling history if you defeat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. And I don't think that the big boys would do that to a future superstar like Batista.
On the other hand, we have Taker winning, making it a 15-0 streak and now 5 time world champ. About ******** time!!! Seriously, Taker has been needing a title around his waist for the longest time. Granted he's been doing his job extremely well in making other stars look good but it's about time that they gave him his one more reign as World Champ before a serious consideration of retirement. Right now he's recovering from a broken rib he suffered on the European tour (and he still wrestled the Survivor Series match on that rib which explains why the match was unusually short). At this point what needs to happen is for the Kennedy Undertaker feud to come to an end and probably in some graphic fashion. Most likely it'll be HIAC because they seem to like to do that with Undertaker feuds (take Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and Mankind for example). In that reguard, I think they're starting to abuse HIAC and making it common-place where it used to be one of the most feared and look-forward to matches in its day. I think they need to bring back some of the good fashioned total brutality matches like Stretcher Matches, Ambulance Matches, and possibly a Buried Alive match, though I think it would be a waste to do it in the current feud (much like it was a waste when McMahon did it with Taker, but I do admit that was the best possible way to get rid of Taker's biker gimmick.)
So this is longer than what I had expected to say xd But to sum it up: Batista beating Taker at Wrestlemania is a bullshit, icon killing, seriously worst business move ever qualifying, thing to pull.

I wouldn't worry too much..Mania is still a long time from now. A lot of things might happen between now and then. I wouldn't worry too much just yet.

I forgot about the whole Stone Cold vs. Cena thing. I think they were also considering Hulk Hogan vs Big Show, seeing as it's been 20 years since the Hulkster slammed Andre The Giant. Then Big Show was going to retire from there apparently. So Vince is dragging the wrestlers out of their retirement homes as of late, why not Wrestlemania. (I love that line from SmackDown! vs RAW 2007, and if you don't have it, you suck. Just kidding. sweatdrop )
But yeah, if the WWE does have him beat the Undertaker's 14 - 0 record, they just screwed themselves over. And I'm not just saying that because he's the best wrestler ever... ninja

Kyra Virika Macbeth ... If this seriously happens, I'll try to drink my brains, through a straw. Well, this should'nt be a problem, because if Batista does beat the Undertaker, all of our brains will turn to a mushy paste due to a over excesive amount of bad storylines and the destruction of an awesome legend...

@canadice: Myah, if that's the case, I'll be a brain stealing ninja. All your brains belong to me. ninja
@King Brad Land: I'm Kane right now, who have you used? Oh, that and I'm the champion on RAW, because I set it to easy. xd
@Schevia: Awww, I love Wrestlezone though. And Lordsofpain. ninja Ah, no! Not the Biker gimmick! xp

I just hope that he ends up fighting Lashley, I always felt like he was underrated, giving bastista the title instead of him, so they send him to the third rated show, and give him the title there, fighting undertaker would give him alot more of the creidit he deserves, espeacialy as WM,

Hey guys, I have an update on Wrestlemania.
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship Undertaker vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Not sure what the other matches will be but I think Mickie James and Jeff Hardy will wind up defending their respective titles. Just a guess, thats usually how these things turn out.

I have a prediction though: Since I'm pretty sure that Donald Trump is not a wrestler, we won't see a McMahon vs. Trump match. But I bet ya that we'll see another Money in the Bank Match and Trump will find someway to one-up McMahon on the contract deal.

The guy dumped thousands of dollars of cold, hard cash on the crowds last week. Mr. McMahon has his own plans for Trump, if you saw RAW last night.

I personally have to say that it's not that good to make it Batista vs. 'Taker...it's not fair for Taker to have to lose against Batista at his home front...I'm not saying that Taker will lose, but if I know Vince (and I don't), then chances are he'll probably pull up his favorite musclehead to beat a legend in an attempt to make him SUPER over with the fans or something of that nature, either that or make Batista and 'Taker feud only to make Batista bigger than he already is after beating the Undertaker.
*le sigh* if they do that then WWE has gone down the sh*tter for me

Honestly, I was hoping that the 'Taker would have picked John Cena as his opponent. I wanted to Kennedy beat Batista at Wrestlemania this year. It would have been spectacular.

I agree with you completely. I honestly can see Kennedy being as big as the Rock, if they give him the correct kind of push. If he got a push like Cena is... he'd be so huge. I mean, c'mon.. he can WRESTLE! He's got Mic skils... he's pretty much got it all. ...and he's still got a fun gimmick.
