Yeah... Think I'll make a vampire romance/revenge story... It will all be in the second post... But be warned... I'll probably lose interest...

The Story Itself!

((More to come!))

CHAPTER 1

It was the twilight hour of dusk, when a figure hidden in darkness and covered by multiple bed sheets began to stir. Soon a messy head of long dark hair found its way out of the linens, drawing a deep breath of cool night air as the young fledging vampire awoke.

His eyes opened slowly, revealing the shocking red hues his eyelids had hidden. He was living in the home of his master, a renegade vampiress who had abandonned her clan in many days long past. She wanted to avoid suspicion from priests in this time of underground war, and as it turned out, clans only caused more suspicion from priests.

"Virgil? Where are you my young darkwalker?" The voice of his master floated to his ears pleasantly. "Why haven't you awakened yet?" She called out.

Virgil sat up in his bed and simply called back to her. "I'm in my room... Why do you ask?" He asked quietly.

"Because I still haven't taken you out feeding yet! Surely you must feel the weakness in your body and mind?" She stated, poking her head of elegantly curled black hair into the door of his room. "You were only turned last night... You need to have your first drink..." She told him, appearing fretful at the reluctant look he gave her.

"Mina... One question... Is there anyway you could've turned me without making me have to feed like you? I mean... Can't I just have a meal instead?" He asked quietly, a downcast look on his face.

The truth was that he was homeless. He had a handsome face, his hair hid it half the time, a slight build that made him seem durable but not bulky, and most people who saw him on the street thought him too handsome to be homeless, Mina was one of those people. Only she had taken action and changed him, as well as taking him in.

He still didn't trust her despite the fact that she was obviously trying to help him. "I'm afraid that can't be helped... Once you take on the life of a vampire... There's no turning back, and no opportunity to rid yourself of the blood lust you feel now... But relax... The cold feeling in your stomach goes away after a while... You just have to get used to it!" She told him with a more cheerful tone in the last sentence, before walking off to dress herself in something other than the silky black bed gown she had worn.

Virgil sat up in his bed and put his feet on the floor, yawning as he looked out at the moonrise. No more beautiful sunrises for me anymore I guess... He thought sadly and got dressed.

Virgil's tall thin lanky body was now covered by black slacks, a blue button up shirt, and a black jacket to protect from the cold. He scrutinized his appearance in the mirror and sighed at the sight of his red eyes. He used to have greyish eyes set in his face, but that was a different time.

"Virgil? Are you ready?" Mina asked, poking her head into his door again. "Only have to slip into these shoes..." He muttered and slid his feet snugly into a pair of black dress shoes. "So... Where are we going?" He asked quietly, looking at Mina who was dressed in a blood red dress with a Chinese dragon on the side of the skirt part, her hair was now tied back in an elaborate style, showing her full face and rather radiant features, and her feet bore red stilletos. "Why, we're going to a social party being held by my old master..." She said simply, looking at Virgil with a smile.

"You had a master?" Virgil asked curiously, his voice actually dripping with it. "But of course, as did he, and his master before him... All who have come after Cain from Nod have had masters, Cain being the first..." Mina answered. "Cain... You mean from the Bible?!" Virgil asked, his voice suddenly high with surprise.

"Of course... He was given a mark to show all his sin... And what do you reckon that mark was?" She asked with a small wink, before walking out.

Virgil finished lacing up his shoes and stepped out of his room after Mina, unaware of the horror he would face that night.

CHAPTER 2

It was a cold and quiet winter's night as Virgil followed Mina quietly, finding a large mansion where her master was holding a party for all his creations and any of their creations, which he considered his grandchildren. He was actually a kind, ancient vampire, who enjoyed laughing easy and spoke gravely when any subjects turned to death or murder. He turned all his victims, or lived off of transfusion blood which he bought off of a hospital for reasonable prices.

Once Virgil was in the mansion, he gasped in awe. It was enormous! And so warm inside and filled with a cozy atmosphere of talk, jokes, and people who considered themselves siblings, despite the lack of blood relations. "This is amazing..." He whispered, Mina hearing his voice and turning to him. "Now be on your best behavior... And stay away from Jess... She's a bit of a bloodluster, and since you're new she could mistake you for a new target and food source..." She warned.

Virgil nodded and went straight to a punch bowl, once he caught a wiff of the strong smell though, he almost gagged. It wasn't punch, but blood! A whole bowl of it! He was surprised at how sensitive his nose was now, and almsot threw up into the bowl. He noticed people were looking at him, red eyes gleaming, and made a dash for where he hoped was the bathroom.

When he opened the door, he saw a man, with a beautiful young woman in his lap. They were caught in a most loving embrace from his angle, but when he took a closer look, he noticed that the man had fangs sunk into the woman's neck. Virgil slammed the door and ran, finding the bathroom after similar encounters.

Once in the bathroom, he couldn't hold himself back anymore, and heaved into a toilet. He panted, feeling another surge of nausea overcome him. Then another. It seemed all he could do was throw up, he was so scared. Finally, Virgil regained his composure, and headed back into the main chamber of the mansion, trying to mingle with the group, despite the wreaking scent of blood from the punch bowl.

Later, Mina took him by the arm and led him out. "Well, it was fun... But now I have to teach you to hunt... You have a natural alluring charm to you now, which should make human women swoon over you now... Use that to your advantage. I'll be watching you from the shadows, if you get in too deep, like if she discovers what you are... I'll deal with them. You'll do better with the opposite sex as your prey by the way..." She told him simply. She then faded away into mist, and Virgil looked for his prey.

It took him a little while to get it right, but he found a young woman whose heart was racing. Hopefully, that would make her blood rush into his mouth and let him feed as quickly as possible. He approached her, underwent the ritual of befriending her, then growing close to her, and led her arm and arm into an alleyway. He then kissed her, feeling sick as he thought of biting her throat. Everything was coming so naturally it was scary, then he released her from the kiss and started suckling on her neck, hearing her moan softly, then gasp as he bit.

He was right, the racing heart caused a quicker rush of blood to stream down his throat. He held her, biting so hard that he could hear skin ripping. Once he could no longer hear the heartbeat, he let the body go, and watched it collapse. "Did... Did... I just do that?!" He gasped and clasped his hands over his mouth, feeling another surge of revulsion. He then collapsed, vomitted, and passed out, fresh tears now streaking his face.

CHAPTER 3

Virgil woke up, feeling a strange heat next to him. He opened his eyes and noticed Mina was cuddling him in a bed, as if she were his mother. Virgil's face reddened as he noticed she was pressed very firmly to his body. She stirred and awoke, looking at him with a gentle face. "Young one... I hope you do not think little of yourself because you passed out and regurgitated what you should have kept down... I did the same thing when I first fed... Also... You were weeping the whole time you were asleep... I felt responsible, as if I was pressuring you to hunt too early..." She said gently explaining why she was holding him in her bedroom.

She let him go, and he rose, finding he had been changed into a pair of red and black checkered pajamas. Virgil frowned and turned at his master. "You undressed me..." He said quietly, his voice slightly growling. "Relax! I had to get you out of those cold, soaked clothes! You would've frozen overnight if I hadn't!" She fired back. Virgil walked off to his room indignantly and changed into a pair of blue jeans and a tan colored shirt, padding through the house barefoot.

It was another dusk, another night. If he could get his meals without killing, he would probably feel better. But he'd also have to get over the repulsive smell of blood. That would be a hard task to accomplish. He remembered the look of shock on the woman's pale face from the night before and shuddered. He would've vowed to never kill again, but he couldn't do it. Draining a victim was the only way to keep from smelling the blood, as it entered his mouth directly.

"Virgil, I'm going out! I have some important things to do, so I'll be gone almost all night. I left a blood packet that my master graciously gave me since you're my first creation. He said you'd probably have the same reaction as me, boy did he know it!" She called out playfully. Virgil was in the room in time to see her leaving in a black business suit, carrying a suitcase. "Important things huh?" Virgil muttered to himself and went to the fridge, taking out the blood packet and draining it quickly.

He couldn't find anything to do, so he simply explored around the house, finding nothing of interest. He felt as though he was a child, grounded to their room. He couldn't find a TV, or anything that most people enjoyed for fun. His master obviously lived with some anemities, like electric lighting, but didn't care much for television. Virgil soon went into his room and curled up on his bed, unable to sleep, but thinking deeply.

Mina returned in a few hours, the sun practically on her heels as it rose in the next five minutes. Virgil had finally fallen into a peaceful slumber and was snoring slightly as he slept. Mina sat on the edge of his bed and gently pushed his hair out of his face as he dreamt. She had to admit to herself, he was definitely the most handsome creature she had met, and that her affection was more than that of a mother and child. She kissed his head gently, then walked away to her room, changing into her nightgown, pulling the pin out of her hair, letting it tumble down over her shoulders and down to her waist. She laid down and the darkness took her into a peaceful slumber.

SIX MONTHS LATER

They both awoke at nearly the same time, Virgil now accustomed to the waking routine and slightly less scared to feed. He dressed casually in a pair of black jeans, a red shirt, and a black leather jacket. As he looked himself over in the mirror of his bedroom, he noticed he was starting to look a little bit better nourished.

Mina was in a pair of black boots, blue jeans, a white tank top and a black coat, her hair and its elegant curls were unhindered for once. She and Virgil had been growing ever closer in the short time he had been turned. My dear Virgil... I swear the feelings I have for you are so strange... It's as if I lo-... That's... Not right... I love my first creation? She thought to herself, spacing out.

Virgil looked at Mina and her spacing state and tried to get her attention. "Mina? Hullo?" He waved his hand in front of her face, then was surprised when she snapped it into her's with an iron grip. She came back to her senses and looked at him with shock. "I'm sorry..." She let his hand go and fought back the blush that threatened to show on her face like a sunburn.

Virgil laughed lightly. "Mina... I've asked you for a while now... I'm still not sure if I'll get an answer but... What's all these pressing matters you deal with?" He asked curiously. Mina sighed, and, after six months, finally decided to tell him. "I'm the leader of a group of vampires known as the Order of the Blood Rose... We've been negotiating with the churches, and trying to establish a peace between the humans and vampires..." She told him simply. "As it turns out, Cain is the only reason they've hunted us... He's the one who's ordered mass slaughters of places like Pompeii... This war has been raging for over a thousand years... Passed to each generation of priests, and told to each new vampire... It's about time I told you." She paused for breath, then continued. "We've come to an agreement that if we kill Cain... The bloodshed will stop..." With that, she stopped and looked down to the ground.

"I'm not sure if I can keep it up though... Four of our founding members are dead... And... My master is one of them..." She said quietly, tears Virgil had never seen streaking down her face. "And... I don't know how much longer I have... And I don't want to leave you alone and defenseless!" She sobbed, throwing herself into Virgil's arms, crying into his chest.

Virgil had no idea what to do. His heart was racing, his mind was cloudy, and all he wanted was for Mina to calm down. His arms wrapped gently around her, and he held her. That was about all he could do. He just held her and rubbed her back as she wept into his shirt, soaking it slightly. Mina ceased sobbing and looked up into Virgil's eyes, her tear-clouded red orbs gazing deeply into his for what felt like centuries.

Then, Virgil felt two soft hands gently place themselves on his cheeks and pull him toward Mina's face. Mina's ruby red lips overlapped Virgil's as she kissed him, tears still falling down her cheeks. Virgil's eyes were wide at first, but he soon closed them, the deep kiss continuing on for a full minute or two. When Mina pulled away, her face was calm and serene, as if she had finally found the only thing she needed in life. Virgil didn't doubt he had found the one thing he needed.

"Virgil... I... I'm..." She started, but Virgil cut her off, his voice floating to her ears gently. "I know... You're scared of death... Right?" He asked, Mina confirming it with a slight nod. Virgil simply drew her closer to his body and held her there, gently stroking her hair every now and then. "Virgil... Let me go... I have to talk with you about a lot of things... Including your future..." She said softly, pushing against his chest lightly. The next few things he was to learn would leave him bewildered and speechless.

CHAPTER 4

"What!? You've named me as your heir in case you die!?" Virgil exclaimed in shock. "That's right... Heir to my house... My things... And my position as the leader of the Order of the Blood Rose... I'm afraid I still have to teach you how to defend yourself and more, so we will be rather busy... I've already appointed an interim leader just so I can train you... Last night was my last night with the order until you are fit to take my place..." She told him.

You've got good characters developing. It has a vampire chronicle sense to it but making a relatable vampire character is what makes it interesting. ^^ Keep working on it!
