Kold Shiro vs. The Herald

FIGHT!
PostPosted: Tue Nov 28, 2006 7:39 pm

The entrance is simple in its elegance, a single man stepping out from the northern gates. A flurry of orange feathers surround his form, dancing about him in an endless dance of grace. A tall man with the face of a bird strolled out leisurely into the arena, orange and green feathers accenting the large wings that extended from his back. He wore robes of orange, long and baggy to cover all but his wings, for doing so was too uncomfortable to him. Underneath the robes he wore a golden breastplate, a shimmer of green light passing down his right side while orange passed down his left. With wings unfurled to their full extent he held each hand out to his sides, palms facing up with clawed fingers extending towards the sky. His right leg pulled up to hold position with the foot against his knee, his beaked face falling to only show the feathers atop his head. His stance was odd as he waited, for it looked like he should surely fall, hardly a combat stance at all.

Kold would enter from the southern gates then. A fairly unremarkable entrance from the rather remarkable man/woman/transvestite/thing. The nin's gender remained a mystery as did the sexuality of Kold and even how vocals sounded since all matches so far had ended by a time out so Kold had no real opportunities to reveal anything.

The nin wore an outfit that started where the jaw line met neck and ended just centimeters above the ground so not to get dirty. It was colored black, but upon further inspection had a midnight blue splotches with a dark sea green bordering the blue with a fog like effect when stared at really hard and up close. These colors blended naturally across the coat like structure which turned into a skirt like hakama at the waist from a corset like obi which was just a piece of fabric in a midnight blue color that covered the stomach and ended at the hips to give Kold a more hourglass like figure. It was designed to let Kold blend in with the shadows and night better since pure black makes one appear as a black spot moving about.

Pure black gloves covered the entire hand and upon closer inspection the knuckles had padding as well as the back of the hand, which a rectangular shape was slightly raised. The heel of the palm and "ball" of the hand, first knuckles in the fingers, had a slight layer of protection like a weight lifter's glove would.

If Kold were to take a long enough stride or have the skirt like hakama raised enough they would reveal black shinobi boots, which were like regular combat boots minus the toecap with no laces and some padding near the back and ankle as well as better arch support. It was also exceedingly comfortable and offered excellent traction.

Tucked into these boots three inches up the shin were a pair of black pants that were just loose enough to not be form fitting, but didn't rub together. They weren't visible though unless the avian like opponent could see through things which would be a rather perverted skill.

As all shinobi do, Kold had weaponry and light armor in several places about the body. Unlike most though, Kold kept the weaponry and tools down to a minimum since metal detectors cause hassle and landing on them is not comfortable. That and your opponent can take them. The almost "Karate Kid" like stanced opponent might guess what Kold had since the list of tools and weapons for all shinobi is fairly similar. Some small tools for thief like activities, a weapon of some sort, possible explosives, maybe a few scrolls, some soldier pills or other forms of nourishment/enhancement, and depending on the rank/affiliation/purpose other items would merit. No headband was odd though.

For all intensive purposes Kold was registered in several different ways. Some records show an A or S rank criminal, others listed ANBU, some show bounty hunter, and a select few had a jumble of letters and numbers rather than rank, but those records were not known to the public since they were private property of "hole-in-the-wall" organization.

After Kold's fashion had been dealt with it was time to get onto the actual body. A frame similar to a ballerina, gymnast, or loli actor. A lithe body in a slender soft angular frame of 5'8" at 49kg made the nin not very big, but not small either since the height and weight were acceptable for both males and females.

Eyes were a deep icy blue color that you could just get lost in. A rather feminine almond shape with what looked to be a dark blue or black eyeliner running over them and having small points on the outer edges with the initial curve on the top being thicker. Near the middle of the eye at the bottom a centimeter thick line came down one inch in a katana like curve that thinned out to become nothing with the curve extending to the outside of the face. Long thick eyelashes on the bottom and top of each eye curved towards the center and then away halfway through.

The lips were also that dark blue-black color with an "M" formed in the middle of the upper lip as the lines sloped down on a gentle curve giving off a very full and pouty appearance. Liquid eyeliner had apparently been applied since there was a certain gloss present.

The skin was smooth like glass or a baby's bottom whichever you prefer. It also held a soft quality and felt very soft and well taken care off. It went well with the soft round features.

The color was a nice pale tone. Although not pure white or sickly looking it was a beautiful shade. A natural ivory skin tone that many associate with Japanese and Northern European women suggesting Kold's family history. It contrasted with the dark color around the eyes and on the lips as well as the clothing, but seemed to fit perfectly within the spectrum making the androgynous being's beauty that much more striking. If Kold were to strip the entire body would be that color.

The hair was jet black with a faint dark blue tint to it. Looking very well groomed and glossy it was a simple style. Coming just after the jaw line at the front and getting longer as it went back so it touched the shoulders and fell down to meet the shoulder blades at the back and sides. A natural part down the middle of Kold's head the hair came up gently and then continued at gentler angle down the sides of the face to in an oval shape missing the last curve at the bottom.

A gentle slope of a nose that was almost invisible when looking straight at the face gave a doll like quality to it.

Suffice to say, Kold's beauty transcended the genders.

A graceful dance of a walk brought Kold into the arena. Arms swung ever so slightly with the small swivels of the shoulders of each step as the hips almost bounced from side to side like a model going down the catwalk. Eyes closed with the head slightly downward further gave the impression that the one walking out into the arena was a model for the real fighter, but no one else came out. It looked effortless to be that graceful with such beautiful movements.

About three fourths of the way to the center of the arena Kold stopped with a slight blade of the left side as the match had begun. Now it was time for fun.

The Herald did not even look up, so the description was largely a wate of everyone's time. The avian creature simply raised a hand when the nin came to a halt at around 112ft from his entrance, roughly 187ft from the avian man. The world would seem to freeze to the nin as time stopped around him, a ten foot radius sphere centered on his Temporal Signature. Light would quickly dim as the sun was mostly blocked, but not entirely. A shaft began to open below the man as the shell extended downward, the sand and rock eroding away under the test of time.

A ring-out was intended before The Herald even looked to see who he was fighting.

Waste or not the description was given.

Whatever was going on Kold probably would have a little understanding of it, but since the physics and mind boggling process of this power could be examined and explained several different ways it wasn't worth trying to understand since Kold would never be able to do it.

So if this was understood correctly the avian man was attempting to stop time around Kold, open a hole in the ground below himself, and sink the entire arena from himself outwards. Since this one could fly and apparently warp the space-time continuum that shouldn't be a problem escaping since only ten feet down was needed for a ring out, but one hundred was needed when going upwards. If a one hundred foot hole opened up below the avian competitor he may be considered for a ring out since he would be above the ground by that amount, in theory.

Kold's body reacted when a very odd energy surrounding it as forces more powerful than it could ever hope to produce were working now. Still didn't mean the nin couldn't put up a fight against something as great a challenge as this. Kold's eyes snapped open with a slight raising of the head as the "time bubble" was starting up. Kold's own energy reacted.

As all energies do, the time warping powers left a signature, had properties, could be manipulated, and above all could be defeated. By what was the question? Kold had no idea what was going on, but it didn't really matter now.

With the opening of the eyes the iris swirled about as did the pupil. The dark icy blue color encased the whiteness of the orb as the pupil became white. Kekkai genkai. As the energies neared Kold the bloodline took effect. Energy burn.

Not truly energy destructive, but that was the name for it. The Shiro bloodline gave a few passive abilities involving healing and gaining power from near death experiences. It allowed the seeing of energy movement and with that Kold was blind from what was seen. Kold had been a test tube baby though. Parents had altered and tweaked the genetic structure as well as the bloodline. This was far superior to any "normal" nin's.

In truth the anti-energy was more of a looping vampire effect. As energies neared or touched Kold's body the nin's own would begin eating them. Of course Kold did not have infinite energy and any comments about it were in jest. A bright neon glow outlined the nin as the lines grew brighter trying to drain just half of the power around it to cancel out the remaining half since the small among of Kold's energy that had been eating would be just enough to complete the 50% since some energy was needed to keep the vampire going. Normally the energy was just slowly eaten away as the line moved along as it ate, but it wasn't moving.

This power was unimaginable. Even with seven gates and eight of the three kinds of soldier pills could Kold ever hope to achieve this kind of strength. It was unimaginable, it got Kold excited. Never before had this feeling been experienced and the nin didn't want it to end.

A blinding light in the darkness was Kold. The power to stop time was ever so slowly being eaten away at and a grain of sand of it's power had been given to Kold. On this beach of googolplex upon googolplex of grains.

Even with the tiniest amount it was enormous. The power gained further fueled the eating as the process sped up a little, a snowball effect in basic terms. Brighter and brighter as the entire globe of the opponent's energy had that brilliant glow to it. It looked like some kind of spell about to explode from overloading. It was nearly white now as Kold had a very special place for all that power. A place it could go without rupturing the eighth gate and causing death. A place most treasured. Two places actually.

This kind of power was amazing. Never before and probably never again would it be experienced. It ran into the body, into those special places, and through the vampire effect. It had an added bonus as well. Kold had access to that kind of energy now. Or in more correct terms, Kold could start manipulating time. Not very well and it would be exhausting, but the option was there. With more power coming in faster now and the containers full something needed to be done or Kold would explode.

100% of everything "vamped" couldn't be used in more vamping since it would eat Kold from the inside out and a certain percentage always went to Kold so something had to be done with it.

It was expelled. Kold used that power to push very fine "needles" of power against the sphere from every possible angle to try to breach it and stop the flow of power within it to break it down further for a faster absorption. Kold's body made room for the huge amount of power that was probably nearly nonexistent to what the opponent possessed.

Soon more power could be introduced, but for now Kold was trying to not overload the system. That and anymore introduced would cause a Dragon Ball Z "Heavily constipated power gathering with lots of grunting and screaming" effect which was not desired. The hole in the arena sank deeper and grew wider like a physical demonstration of a black hole forming. With the ability to manipulate time though could Kold stop it? More importantly still.

Who killed J.R.?!
PostPosted: Fri Dec 01, 2006 8:46 pm

Kold's attepmt to chip away at the energies around him and add them to his own would be rather futile. Despite it being a manipulation, there simply was no energy worth taking around him. Everything had just stopped, energy included, leaving Kold in a bubble with a hole at the bottom. The ground underfoot would be rushing out from under him faster at his manipulations and movement, eroding that much faster. Even if somehow Kold's attempts could alter a point in space where time simply stopped, the speed at which he would be affecting the sphere would be so slow that it would be imperceptible. Matter, anti-matter, energy, anti-energy, all of it had found its place in stopped time, sitting on its hands doing absolutely nothing. This is not to say that the bubble was unbreakable, simply that trying to destroy a non-existant field of energy is quite the wrong approach. Oh, and that whole thing about Kold being able to manipulate time, no, he wouldn't. Even if he somehow gained enough energy all it would do is fizzle out without any direction by divine will, as the effect is part of a cleric ability set that passes beyond energy and spells.

Now, while it was obvious that time was stopped around Kold, he himself was not stopped. Breathing was somehow still possible in this bubble, as was limited movement. This alone should give some indication of the best way to escape the bubble. Meanwhile, The Herald had not yet looked up, gently caressing the field under the guidance of divine will. He seemed to not be exerting any focus on keeping the field in place, chuckling to himself as he almost literally felt Kold try a rather incorrect way of altering his field.

So the Herald somehow knew Kold was a man. That made it a lot easier to post since trying to be gender ambiguous is rather difficult.

Kold's vamping effect only took effect when energies touched him so apparently all he had done was change the color of his eyes. Kold hadn't moved either so it made little sense to say he had. Manipulations had only been used on himself and bloodline so that wasn't relevant either.

The ground underfoot was being affected by some kind of energy though. For no energy of any kind to create a reaction is impossible. Even with energy around him stopped it was still there and could still be taken. Afterall, just stopping something didn't make it go away.

So a bubble with a hole in it eh? Kold still didn't know what was going on, but the air near him felt dead. Energy didn't flow, it just hung there. Since he couldn't see any movement of energy within the bubble space yet still feel it the conclusion was reached that he in some kind of void. The ground was eroding away from an increase in time right under Kold's feet. Not wanting to walk right into some kind of electrocution field or vaporizing void as well as not falling Kold outlined himself with a icy neon blue energy that glowed softly to keep him afloat as shadows had enveloped everything else with the near blocking out of the sun. He was glad now that he had bothered battling a member of the Nara clan and learning how to use what he stole.

The Nara clan controlled shadows. With Kold's shadow merging into the great darkness of the arena it was one big shadow. Perfect. Since it was a clan technique and not bloodline anyone could learn this through practice and Kold had. It was time to get this done with.

With the little amount of movement allowed within whatever he was trapped in Kold touched his fingertips together infront of his chest and against the light combined with general speed at which they moved made it impossible to tell what he had just done. Two handseals to perform something known as a shadow imitation.

Under normal circumstances the user stretched out their shadow until it touched the one they wanted to catch making them move exactly how the user did. Since the entire arena was covered with shadows distance wasn't a problem since the small amount of light in the arena gave Kold's opponent a shadow too. A shdow that merged with the one covering the arena floor. Kold's shadow touched that shadow too. So with the activation of that jutsu he already had a controlling link between himself and his opponent. This let Kold basically puppet his opponent into mirroring his movements. He wasn't done though.

This next one required no seals at all. Shadowing sewing. Kold's energy molded with the shadows over the entire arena floor and walls rather quickly since he could stretch them out to force a connection if needed. As long as the surface area was not exceeded he could move them. Now came the fun part of all this. Since Kold had vampyric energy though the very instant he finished his seals and established that connection with The Herald it would start draining since there was a medium to connect them. Fighting off this was possible, but very unlikely since any energy generated to stop the bind would be sucked down by Kold's energy. Shadow sewing was different though. While imitation simply caught and moved shadows on the ground sewing let them become solid things off the ground.

From the very foot of his opponent black spear like tendrils shot up at the Herald's body. An eight foot cirumfrence with the avian being the center erupted with those tendrils. Imitation to stop any movement and bind him down, sewing to finish off, and a vampire effect to keep energy from releasing or stopping it. The instant those hand seals were completed Kold's shadow had been able to trap someting by touching it's shadow. With the arena basically being one big shadow that link was instantaneous. Not even half a second later the tendrils had come.

They moved one and a half times faster than a bolt from a crossbow and extended twenty feet from the ground with barbs growing at set intervals. With the number of tendrils and angles he had used a cone shape was general idea with the term pin cushion take to the extreme. Kold knew nothing of the armor, but with a tendril going to rectaly impale his opponent along with every other part of the body it wouldn't have been of great concern anyhow.

((And even if The Herald didn't know his gender, man is just easier, plus, its not like I'm cleoing anything because its just a friggin pronoun. If you really care I could explain how he'd know.))

Wherever the idea that the arena was covered in shadows came from was rather incredible and quite false, as it looks like day, and if not there would be floodlights, and oh, look, there was light. This meant that the two shadows could simply not connect. However, if a small detail had been missed then the nin would find a secondary barrier, the fact that the bubble around him seemed to stop his influence from passing out of it. The same effect, stopped time, that caused him to be unable to alter the bubble around him was the one that was blocking all energy manipulation from passing through the bubble. And if somehow the nin got around that fact, the last one would become aparent still. The Herald had no energy of his own. The vampirism would be stealing nothing from nowhere, at best gaining the ability to call upon a specific deity for divine will, a deity that would definately not listen. Though if Kold did persist in trying to demand energy from a god with his vampiric influence, that was his problem.

That having been said, even if Kold could atach himself to The Herald's shadow, he would find his ability to move the avian creature severaly hampered. The effect would be similar to trying to lift a one hundred pound object with the same force one would apply to lift a one pound object. The nin would slow The Herald down at best, nothing more. Assuming the nin could somehow create his hentai tentacles The Herald would be reacting to them even before they sprouted from the ground, his reaction time actually negative by divine will and a mastery of the flows of time. The being would be up in the air at the speed limit set for the tournament, his own incredible speed limited by a bar placed by himself after further knowledge of the workings of the tournament and the actual presense of a speed limit. Suffice it to say, he was faster than the spears. However, even if the spears did somehow make contact, a bright light would flare around the points of contact, something akin to an energy shield blocking them.

Now that hypothesizing had been completed the actual actions of the post can be considered. The Herald was dissappointed that the man could float, for that made everything so much more difficult. He had hoped to simply win without expending any effort for once. Now, finally, the avian's eyes seemed to cast their gaze towards the nin, seeing not the visible spectrum but that what lay beyond time and space, sealing an individual to their location in the fabric of spacetime. His hand began to twirl and from the reaches of another world a single staff was produced, slowing to a lazy spin before his body as the field around Kold was released. The return from a stopped time field in such an abrupt manner would leave the body temporarily numb and then would induce incredible pain as the stresses of time eased away. This mechanic was exclusive to stopped time, however, and differential fields were quite unique in their own right. The figure of the avian would then dart towards Kold, the staff launched before him in a whirling throw that made it spin at such an incredible speed that even the blunt edges would seem sharp. The flightpath was aimed to take it directly through Kold's abdomen and then arc back to the quickly advancing Herald.

The imitation really just made whoevers shadow you were touching do whatever you did as long as the energy was expended to keep such a thing going. Regardless though several things went wrong.

Since this opponent, whatever he was, seemed to call upon some external source for power any draining that took place would not have access to that power, but still drain the bird-man thing of any energy in the body, life included. Unless this was a puppet, unless the avian had no actual energy or life and was just a lifeless tool of some divine being whom Kold could not drain unless a medium was present. If this avian opponent was an actual medium for divine power so be it. Draining a god for power could take lifetimes that Kold didn't have.

Now came the odd part. The nin had seen the shadows connecting since the sun had been partially blocked out, lights did not shine in spheres, and the big hole beneath him was one big shadow. So how could this thing get away. Wings. Kold did not have wings so trying to control them wouldn't work. The rest of the body might work though. Going higher up in the air gave a longer shadow too, but then came the pain as for a completely non homosexual reason the one going to play kancho with Kold's opponent had been twice as thick as the rest.

Recovering from the effects of time is an odd thing since it all gets laid into you at once as your body catches up. Luckily time hadn't been stopped for to long a period, but this wasn't going to be pretty. Kold became rigid with the pain as his back arced some as the staff came whirling in to give a sickening thud as it struck Kold's abdomen. This sent him flying a good thirty or more more feet, given the low weight, to land rolling and picking up dust and dirt as he bounced along like a sprint car after using the handbrake while going to fast and turning to hard.

But wasn't summoning things illegal in this tournament? If it wasn't in this match Kold had a very interesting surpirise for whatever had just whacked him.

He stopped in a heap about sixty to eighty feet away as the dust settled and whatever he was fighting closed in. Shakily he pushed himself up like a pushup and brought the right leg into his chest and pushed to get upright.

Something was moving towards him as some blood got spit off to the side. He was a little disoriented, but it would pass. Pain did things to animals. Kold was like an animal from the years of psychological and physical torture had had endured by his parents for the first thirteen years of his life. His mind slipped back into a place as something else took over his body. Pure instinct. Kold was in something akin to sleepwalking except he could still fight. Fight well too. Some said better than when he was "awake".

Kold's clothing burst into shreds after he got up. A single pair of pants and those half finger gloves accompained by the boots were all that he wore now besides some body armor since everything else had just been destroyed. On the upside of his forearms were a single ringless kunai each attatched to some kind of releasing mechanism. They each bore a kanji reading "Cursed blood"

On his torso there was some kind of body armor that had a crack where he had gotten hit. It chipped away and fell into nothing like an eggshell. That was supposed to be able to take a bullet. The part on his back shattered too from the impact in the front. The remaining armor was for the shoulders, upper arms, bottom and sides of the forearms, throat, and there were some leg guards hidden beneath his pants.

The armor wasa dark grey color with a black outline. Perfectly form fitting and leightweight allowing freedom of movement since it was not a full body suit and only covered certain areas. On the side forearm guards there were three small blades in a Batman style progression and shape.

The armor was not meant for that kind of punishment though. A sword maybe, but not that. That armor had saved Kold's life, but he'd have to go back to the armorment to get some more which would be after this tournament since it was to long a journey to get back in time for the next round, if he made it through this one.

His body was fairly well muscled, but like a gymnast or professional yoga instructor in how the muscle was distributed across the body. His skin was indeed that pale all the way about it and except for the hair on his head Kold was apparently hairless unless The Herald felt like taking Kold's pants off to confirm that.

He hadn't gotten up out of choice, but because that was what his body simply did. He felt kind of numb, but again it would pass. Kold kind of swayed side to side a little with his knees bent as the combwebs got cleared out and whatever was coming for him was moving fast enough his eyes could barely pick it up.

Kold looked like he was drunk, but he healed fairly quick and he might return from this "state" soon, but some other interesting things happened to Kold when enough pain was inflicted. As it stood though he was a sitting duck.

Regardless of just what energy was being stolen the transfer rate would make the effect quite useless, gainging next to nothing compared to the effort required. The staff was back in The Herald's hands in a mere moment, and in the split second after that The Herald was upon his opponent, the staff swinging for the nin's midsection once more with all the force the avian man could muster. Furthermore, an odd thing happened in the wake of the robed being, great orange feathers of light began dancing in the air, centers of temporal instability left by his advance. Though not only did they spring up in his wake, but began to surround his opponent, giving so little room to do anything but stand and take a hit powerful enough to split a man in half with a large chunk simply missing.

Shadow imitation. It was still in effect commanding Kold's opponent to be thrown backwards like he had and just stand there. It pulled and tugged at the body so that it wouldn't move, but would it happen was the question. Probably not.

The draining took absolutely no effort at all. It simply drained when it touched things containing energy or the energy itself creating a loop effect to keep going and running off whatever power it drained to keep going. A nice little loop effect so effort required was having a medium to use. Right now that apparently didn't matter. With an altered state of mind the shadows were no longer under his control since this new state did not do complicated jutsu. It didn't need to.

Kold's body reacted as his eyes saw what others could not. Time was being altered by the very presence of this thing. For such a disturbance to be caused by simply moving gave Kold the idea that whatever he was fighting was a being from the past, present, and future combined causing the fabric of time to be disturbed by the same thing encountering itself in three different time periods and then becoming something else so as to leave all three periods missing something and become a time period in and of itself. Only a theory though.

So as time stopped once again around Kold his opponent could apaprently pass through it without suffering the effects. The candle went off and exploded into a lightbulb, metaphorically speaking. That strike would be met with resistance.

It seemed father time or whatever he was wanted to take a chunk out of Kold. Sorry to dissapoint, but Kold's body had other ideas. Chidori current. Not a jutsu, but simply a gathering and changing of internal energies Kold was full of. Lightning was the strongest element in his energies and it was being used. At the very moment that arm came into a swing Kold's body was already working as bolts of lightning were already surrounding his body before that strike ever came in. Lightning happens to move at the speed of light, matter is unable to attain this speed. According to physics anyhow, but that really doesn't apply here now does it?

Depending on what the staff was made of might have an effect on conductivity. As the staff came in the bolts concentrated at it's tip with the strike and released as a single bolt to break the staff Kold thought had been illegally summoned anyhow and send it through whatever the hell he was fighting and turn the avian into a pile of rotting flesh.

Would the spectators prefer that original recipe or extra crispy?
PostPosted: Wed Dec 06, 2006 8:46 am

((Heh, a free energy drain using no effort whatsoever. Riiiiiiight. Still don't get anything. XP))

Simply so the opposing author stops bringing it up, the staff was not illegally summoned, the restrictions on summoning applying only to creatures and other related summons. Summoning a nonsentient weapon or piece of equipment is perfectly fine. As the lightning streaked in to make contact with the staff there were two possibilities. If it was guided by conductivity and normal physics it would simply miss, seeking out the ground first. If it was truly aimed it would strike the staff and stop dead, the staff obviously not conductive of electricity. The material was indeed metallic in nature, but for some reason did not follow any of the laws for a metal substance as if it were stopped in time.

Having not provided a worthy defense to the staff attack Kold would be left in a very bad position. Even his reaction times at this point would be unable to stop the staff only a mere inch from his gut. Furthermore, it would be noted that the eddies of temporal instability surrounding JKold were not stopped time, just points at which the flow of time was so chaotic that an organic object put into it not attuned to temporal flows would be ripped to shreds.

So all these powers were derived from calling upon a divine being? Didn't that constitute receiving outside help, which if memory served is illegal? Whatever.

The draining effect did require effort seeing as how 100% of whatever drained is not returned to Kold. The draining needs a medium as well as an energy source to continue going. It uses whatever it's eating to fuel it and if connected to Kold, gives him that kind of energy since it can be fueled from his body and whatever it's feeding from.

Poor defense? Kold had just performed a rather good defensive and offensive measure. Here's how.

According to Einstein’s theory, an object must travel faster than the speed of light without ever reaching the speed of light to time travel. Go from the top of one hill to another in a straight line instead of down and back up like a wavelength. Assuming whatever it is doesn't receive a massive friction burn beforehand. So for time to be stopped for the staff it simply wasn't moving along in the time-space continuum and was being met with something moving as fast as the continuum will allow. As far as we know.

So the staff was stopped in time. That didn't mean an outside body couldn't influence it such as moving or whatnot. Lightning is still lightning. It had and hadn't been aimed per se'. Kold's entire body had been surrounded by electricity which concentrated where the staff was going to make impact and a rather powerful bolt had been sent in the general direction since it was Kold's power and lightning does not follow strict rules of motion contrary to popular belief. It was sent in the general direction of the avian opponent with Kold's mind not being able to calculate the proper angles in it's current state.

Even stopped in time the atoms and molecules of whatever material the staff was made of still had metallic properties. The staff was just stopped in time, but it was still a piece of metal capable of conducting electricity. The conductive properties are in the chemical nature of the staff which was still the same even if it was frozen in time. So the staff wouldn't shatter or melt from the bolt, it was a nice lightning rod that wouldn't break. A rod leading right into a soon to be fried chicken.

To explain this in further detail here's how it would work.

Since the staff is frozen in time it does not break or alter in any way be it physical or chemical until un-frozen. A solid object not moving with the time-space continuum is being met with a plasma charge moving as fast as possible without altering the continuum which could cause the staff to be only slowed down in time. According to Newton, an equal amount of force must be exerted to stop something. Making the molecules of the staff unmoving and the flow of time is trying to get the staff moving again so the longer it stays frozen the more strenuous it becomes.

With the molecules being unable to change physically or chemically in the staff the lightning wouldn't be able to change it like normal. Such as melting or burning the staff to make it no longer a good conductor, but with no change in the molecular and chemical structure the staff served as a constant conductor seeing as how it was frozen in time and wasn't about to melt or burn.

With that said, the lightning had not been frozen and was fully able to interact with the staff which was unable to be destroyed or changed and would go right along through the bird like man taking whatever life or other energies it could on the way through. Seeing as how there was a conductor that would never become broken or burnt out since conductivity has nothing to do with time.

Of course even things with no conductivity can be affected by electricity. Take rock for example. Not very conductive at all, but when struck by lightning it burns and shatters into pieces. Rubber melts and plastic burns.

For the bolt to simply "stop dead" though. Was it being stopped in time since a wall of ready to discharge plasma would build up from that since Kold had never stopped fueling it. Was the energy being cancelled out by some other kind and why wasn't the vampyric effect working if that was the case. Could it be that this opponent was simply able to alter reality at his will?

Now back to the match.

With time becoming unstable about him Kold decided to take a chance. He had aged so his body had experienced Temporal flows. Not at such odd configurations though.

Something began on Kold's forehead. An octagon with a cross in it's center began fading into the middle of Kold's forehead. Light grey lines a centimeter thick on a one inch figure darkened to become ink black as whatever was going on with the staff and lightning wasn't important now. Eyes became foggier as a milky white swirl took over those deep neon crystal blue eyes. If his opponent knew anything about the Shiro bloodline and what this meant the words "Oh s**t" might form in his mind and on his mouth. Of course he didn't know and would regret not knowing as well.

Assuming the staff got through; a rather interesting effect would be experienced. Kold's body outlined with a semi-transparent white light. Intensity increasing with a blinding flash upon impact stopping the staff where it tried to touch Kold. The two brightest spots were on Kold's forearms in the shape of ring less kunai. Those weapons held the energy of every Shiro family member for the past 1,500 years with every opponent they had fought, and every person or thing that had touched them in that period. Every day for the last 1,500 years they had been fed energy from it's wielder and other sources they met. Every day they took in more power from the world. 1,500 years was a long time to gather energy constantly. From the moon, the sun, the stars, energies around it, and especially the death of it's wielder.

Even if the avian opponent got zapped this was all still happening. It wasn't done though.

Seven gates open and the final level of his bloodline active made Kold's power far more fearsome than before.

As the light subsided and dimmed away Kold looked different somehow. His smooth pale skin glowed like the full moon on a clear night, but that wasn't it. His entire demeanor was different, like a totally different person was in the ring. His kunai were gone as well, a black kanji reading "Cursed Blood" adorned each forearm just where the weapons had been earlier.

If he hadn't been fried already and could see/sense the powers given to him by his deity the man-bird would notice all his Temporal disturbances were warping and shirking as the natural flow of time returned to those areas. He also might notice that his divine gifts for power wouldn't work anymore.

In a rare moment Kold opened his mouth and spoke in a "pretty" voice that held an icy tone to it. An almost singsong voice that was neither male nor female.

"You powerless fool."

The first half of Kold's post is irrelevant, as yes, the staff is made of metal, but no, it does not conduct electricity. We call this a fantasy substance because this is called a fantasy roleplay where, hold onto your hats, there is magic present. Even if all that fun lightning continued buolding up it'd just sit around and do nothing or ground itself by arcing to the ground. This effect was already covered and will not be addressed again.

With no reason given why the divine gifts were apparently fading, the avian's author would just have to put his word against the other and say 'no they're not.' Why should he give an explaination on why if Kold's author wouldn't give an explaination as to why they were being interupted? For all The Herald's author knew Kold was making use of a purple eyes bunny shotgun. Furthermore, without explaination of why the eddies were fading they would simply remain and grow in number.

Even if somehow the illogical process of trying to remove The Ageless Sentinel's power base succeeded the current speed of the avian would remain. The birdman's motions blurred to even advanced vision as light simply slid along his form in an irregular way. The staff spun away from its point of initial contact to swing back around and slam in hard on Kold's left side before spinning around behind the avian's back to strike from the right. Even if Kold dodged in any direction save for upwards the strikes would follow through, the fluidity of his motions with the staff displaying that his accellerated time flow was giving him much more time to perfect his actions.

Mystina sat in the stands, watching her beloved in the fight.

"KICK HIS a** SENT!" She bounced up and down, her wings fluttering about her. She waved to him, then sat down to watch the fight. She picked up their child, and put her on her lap. The half-aven, half-faerie child chirped a bit, and watched the fight.

"Let's watch Daddy fight." Mystina said cheerfully to the little creature.
