As for myself, I started reading Forgotten Realms because I kept hearing the name Drizzt being refured to and I wanted to see if he lived up to his hype...
I was acually disapointed in that, but I do gratly enjoy the series, Drizzt included though he is by far not my faverate charicter, that would go to Entreri
other then read... I acually don't do much else sweatdrop
I play a great deal of D&D though, which drove me to start reserching the campain setting as it was practiclly an atlas for Faerun!
Aside from a disturbung obsesion with a fictional world, I'm also an Anthropology geek, which is one of the things that lead me to obsessing over the culturely rich Faerun

I started reading the books when my mom accidentally got me the Dark elf trilogy. I have to say I do like Drizzt but jarlaxle is definately close in the running... I have been trying to get Neverwinter nights and my quest has not been fruitfull. I would be interested in playing D&D maybe If I had a sort of tutor because I am totally slow on that sort or thing ...... I can't think of much else right now but when I do I will add it.

I started my reading fananza with Mercedes Lackey and her series Valdemar....I highly reccomend it! I love the series her characters are so well fleshed out and there seem to be one that everyone cna relate to.
Valedmar is mostly a pre-guns type story...Birds and Horses are highly valued and they are raised by the author. This sereis has magic of good and evil...Problems that are adult like and have some child like simplicty...I started reading this series when i turned 12 and i am now 17 so i HIGHLY suggest it!

i started reading Salvatores sereis last year and have read mosst of the drizzt books except for 5

I started with the Icewind Dale trilogy when a friend told me that it was really good. I don't really have one favorite character. Other than reading, I write (though I suppose that's not all that different), do theater, do horseback riding, sing (unfortunately not too well, but it's fun anyway), and act generally crazy/geeky.

Hello, I grew up with dnd and fantasy... I have, sadly, played few campaigns but I have loved the ones that I have played. I have read a bunch of the Drizzt books. I really enjoy the characterization and the like but they can get a bit monotonous if you read to many in a row. I think that the prequels are my favorites. they really do a good job showing the evolution of Drizzt's personality.

In addition of reading books of this kind, I read... well other kinds of books from many different categories. I also write, watch movies, play video games, listen to music, and hang out with friends. In addition to the goofing off I attend college and am looking into majoring in English.

I am looking forward to the conversations in this guild. If people are interested in talking to me feel free to pm me.

I haven't actually gotten into Forgotten Realms until this year when my friend convinced me to read the Cleric Quintet by R. A. Salvatore. Since I had nothing else good to read at the time I thought that I would give it a shot and now I love it. I am now trying to get through the War of the Spider Queen series as well as playing the first Neverwinter Nights game.

Besides Forgotten Realms I also enjoy reading other books, playing my computer, listening to rock music or watching t.v or anime.

It all started when I got told by a few friends of mine about this race called "drow". As I usually align myself to the Chaotic parts in games, I instantly grew an obsession for drow, and of course, heard about the Lone Ranger.

Just a year ago, maybe two, I found a site online that sells FR books, as well as anime and stuff like that. And I found "Homeland." Since then, each vacation I got, I visited their real store, and now I am only missing the book "Road of the Patriarch", before I got all the Drizzt books. 'Course, I've only read to The Halfling's Gem, but I'm working on it.

As for D&D, I haven't played much, mostly just Baldurs Gate or Neverwinter Nights (both great games), but I played similar RP's with a few friends.

Actually it wasn't reading or the actual D&D game play that introduced me to the world of Faerun or it's characters.

It was the game Baldur's Gate on Playstation 2, I had seen the cheats to unlock Drizzt (who I knew nothing about) a duel wielding Drow Ranger. Once unlocked and using him he quickly grew to be my favorite character in both Baldur's Gate games. From there I picked up the Dark Elf and Icewind Dale Trilogies. Drizzt quickly became my favorite character and sense then I have acquired all of R.A. Salvatores novels concerning him. My interest in the novels and the Baldur's Gate games got me start on playing Icewind Dale 1 and 2 for the PC as well as Neverwinter Nights and it's expansion packs. Armed with all that new knowledge I've come to love the Red Dragon Disciple class and wish there was a book about one now. Sooner or later I do intend to pick up Neverwinter Nights 2 and see how that one is compared to the first one.

Other than the Faerun novels, I read mainly the Star Wars ones. I enjoy playing videogames, watching anime, and playing Final Fantasy XI and Star Wars Galaxies.

I started reading these books a year back with the Dark Elf Trilogy, which my sister was borrowing from a lady she babysat for, we had to by her a new copy because we destroyed the original....anyway, my favorite charactors are Jarlaxle, Drizzt, and Pikel. I don't generally do anything other than read sweatdrop .

Started with Icewind Dale PC games and then started reading the books. Now I stop by randomly to join a Forgotten Realms D&D session.

I started with the Homeland series, about where Drizzt is from, how he got to Icewind Dale, etc. I got hooked after that, and really like Salvatore's books now. I'm not going to say favorite characters, because I can't ever really say any; never really been that decisive. sweatdrop I basically like almost all of Salvatore's characters.

_I honestly haven't read any of the D&D novels, I'm just an avid DM. I have yet to run my own FR campaign (I have a couple homemade campaign settings I usually run), but I'm sure that everyone in the D&D web has some familiarity with Drizzt and the FR world. I own I bunch of 3.0 and 3.5 D&D books, and those I don't own, I have .pdf's of til I can find a copy when I have the money to spend.
_I'm always up for a conversation or discussion about roleplaying or anything related to D&D really.

I got started with Servant of the Shard, where I fell in love with Artemis and Jarlaxle. Drizzt and his friends came later, though I honestly like Wulfgar better.

Beyond that, I play DnD when I can, and I'm working on a Faerun campaign of my own right now, though that may just turn into a book.

My interest in Forgotten Realms stemmed From another Wizards of the Coast Property. I Have always played magic the gathering and when i ran through all of those books I Looked for something else to fill my literary needs and bought the Legacy of the Drow Quartet. From there I've branched out and I now not only read the books but play D&D as well as the game Neverwinter Nights. Can't wait for NWN 2. My fav. main character is hard to choose but my favorite "Side Character" is Gromph Baenre.
