Hey, fellow guitarists. Quick question: I learned Iron Man this way, but I think that's not how it's played, although it sounds close. What's the correct way to play it?

i dunno bout that, but can you play by ear at all? if you can, just listen to the song itself and see if you can just pick it out. sorry, that's the only advice i can give.

Have you looked into Power Tabs at all? I urge you to do so. Its a really neat program and you can find tabs to use the program with at: Ultimate Guitarand you will find links to get Power Tabs from there.

And on topic, I'm not sure if thats right. It's not how I personally ply it, however.
