Viveka sighed, kicking her feet up on the controls, only to earn an angry hiss from her Zoid. However, the pilot was all but unaffected and continued to sit as relaxed as possible against the semi-padded seat. Whenever the Raptor would give a growl, she would pull at its controls, silencing it for a while. But it never failed to start up again.

"You've been bitter ever since the vodka inncident..." She muttered, gently tugging the controls again. "Quiet down." Yet it refused to listen and she eventually opened the cockpit hatch, ready to lower herself down and perhaps take a walk. Getting the cables set, she was nearly gone when the whistle of birds in the nearby trees caught her attention. She glared at the foliage, muttering some sort of curse under her breath.

Ven was tired today. After being rescued from the top of that mountain and managing to get the Jerk out of the shop, he'd spent the day simply soaring in it, having missed the feeling of leaving his troubles behind on the ground as he took off into the sky. The Jerk cried out, like some massive, purple eagle, casting a shadow upon the ground as it swooped closer to investigate. Curious, Ven leaned over slightly to stare down himself, realizing that someone was down there.

With another sharp keening sound, the Jerk beat its wings and dove, the appendages flaring as it hovered above the forest, letting Ven get a nice, long look at the pair. A Rev Raptor, huh? Flicking open the com link, the blue-haired man grinned slightly. "Hey! You busy? How 'bout a battle?" What? So soon? The Jerk had just gotten out of the shop, after all...but Ven was just itching for something to do.

Too busy glaring angrily at the fleshy, feathered birds she couldn't see, Viveka nearly missed the presence of the other Zoid. Yet missing sight isn't the same as missing sound. The sharp cry rang in her ears, causing her to hiss in familiar pain and cover her ears. But the cry still rang deep in her mind. Dropping back into the seat, she shut her mis-matched eyes, feeling that same vulnerability she'd felt so long ago. She wanted to scream, to call out, to-

The com-link interrupted her thoughts, pulling her from the hated stupor that'd begun to take over. Willing away the lost look she could feel on her face, she set her usual scowl. A battle? A chance to ground the eternal foe? Fine. "I accept," was her simple answer. She shut the hatch and pulled at the controls. The Rev Raptor clawed at the air, letting out a ready hiss. "A regular 0992, I assume?" She was all but ready to get started now, but with the Jerk up so high, she'd have to wait for the other pilot to come at her.

He was completely oblivious to the other pilot's reaction to his zoid--he hadn't realized that perhaps the Jerk had cried out a bit too loudly, but... "Yep, nothing fancy." Punching in the battle so that it would be registered and accepting as a 'real battle', Ven grinned slightly. "You ready?" Time to go. Jerking sharply on the controls, the young man sent the Jerk swooping towards the Rev Raptor, wings flared, sunlight bouncing crazily off the Metal-Zi that they were composed of.

Without hesitation, Ven had the Jerk promptly flip sideways in mid-air, tilted down, one of those wings screaming towards the Raptor in an attempt to slash it. A risky move, maybe--it certainly put him in an unfavorable position, but what was a battle without any dangerous stunts at all?

((Already? Dang six. xD))

By all accounts, Viveka seemed ready for the attack. Eyes were glued on the target as it sped closer. Hands carefully played at the contols. Even the Raptor looked ready, slightly hunched to pounce on command. The machine hissed, wind from the on-coming assult already whistling through its gears. "What a fast bird," the pilot murmured. And at the thought, hands clutched tighter at the controls. "What a fast bird..."

There was no way she could've dodged with her eyes closed.

The wings cut critically at the Imperial dino's shoulder, causing its head and opposite side to follow the Jerk's path and smack into the offending wing before flopping over in a heap of metal. Viveka was dazed, but even more so stunned. Nothing like this had happened before. Such critical damage. Could her Zoid even be fixed? She tugged at the restraints, but they seemed attached to her. Fine. Whatever. She'd stay with the Zoid (now badly in need of repair).

((So obnoxious! gonk -kicks the dice-))

He had felt the Jerk hit, and he had felt it hit hard. Jolting from the impact, Ven quickly forced the bird zoid to twist--and found himself staring at the downed Raptor. What...? First Devi, and now this? Was he losing control of himself--or was he just flying far too hard and fast? He didn't want to obliterate opponents, he just wanted to battle with them! "A-Are you all right?" Ven finally managed to ask, still gaping over the damage.

Hurriedly forcing the Jerk to land, the tall young man hopped out of the cockpit, jogging towards the fallen Rev Raptor and the pilot still inside. Oh, God, please say he hadn't knocked her unconcious too...

"Can you move?" He called up, fidgeting from foot to foot. Good Lord, the Raptor was a wreck. Hesitating for a moment, Ven circled towards the head, wondering if he should scramble up and check if she was all right. "I'm--I'm really sorry about that! I didn't mean it, honestly!" And he hadn't, he hadn't wanted to cause that much damage. "Yeesh...Um...I can help pay for the mechanics. ...Can you hear me?" There was no point in talking if he was addressing someone out cold and in need of medical attention.

Even through the shattered metal trap of the cockpit, Viveka could hear the calls of the other pilot. Yet she didn't bother to answer. Instead, she stared blankly ahead at the barely flickering screen. It would flick on for the shortest of moments, then fade again, an obvious sign of more than just external damage. Some wiring would need to be fixed. Heck, the Raptor would need near everything about the right side of the control pannel fixed. A deep sigh rose in her throat.

Shutting her eyes, she tried to ignore the ringing in her ears and the blood that was beginning to gather in the one side of her head. But it was to no avail. Opening irritated eyes, she glanced over to where the control for the cockpit hatch once was. The wiring looked shot. Great. Sucking up as much pride as possible, she called back to Ven.

"The restraints are stuck and I can't get the cockpit open!" Her voice held an obvious venom and blame. Bad enough that she'd lost, but she'd lost to a flying type! She clenched her teeth as she waited for his reply.

Ven perked up at that, gloved hands flexing slightly at his sides. "A wiring problem?" He muttered to himself, then called, "All right, I'll be right back!" Dashing back to the Jerk's cockpit, the man whistled, hurriedly looking around for something. A trio of hisses soon answered him, and, blue body rippling powerfully, the Hydra VS clamored out into the light. "There you are!" Extending one arm down to the little beast, Ven winced as sharp claws cut into his arms, fully grasping hold as the pilot raced back to the Rev Raptor.

"This should work." He said cheerfully, stopping to mutter under his breath. "If we're lucky." Crouching, he gave the Hydra a little prod with his free hand, wincing as one head screeched with offense. The mini-zoid immediately set to work, lunging up the broken remains of the Raptor, straddling the outside of the outside of the cockpit.

With a soft trio of hisses, the Hydra opened its mouths wide and immediately set to work on the cockpit, the main head using the sharp blade on the tip of its nose to peel away the armor, electrical crackles flying from its maw as it began to assess the damage to the wiring. It was fairly simple--though the Rev Raptor was in bad shape, the wiring to the cockpit didn't look too bad. And if it was, well, Ven always had his screwdriver and a lot of patience...

At the assurance he'd be back, Viveka to relax, though her hands still clung unforgivingly to the acceleration controls. Whatever he had planned, it hopefully wouldn't take long. She was beginning to feel light-headed and a bit dizzy, not good signs. If only the Raptor's head hadn't landed sideways. In an attempt to quell the feelings, she lifted her head, but the sudden movement only caused the dizziness to grasp ten-fold. Moaning lightly, her head dropped, neck and jaw resting against the restraints again.

"Hurry up..." she muttered under her breath, fingers clenching and releasing the controls. And it was just then she heard a hiss that would've been missed, had it not been repeated three times. She slowly turned to the direction the sound had come from. What was it? Eyes narrowed in debate, until the sound of ripping metal and repair could be heard, as well. A repairing Zoid? A mini, perhaps? The haze she was in made it too hard to think about it long.

"Hurry up..." she repeated the 'command' from before, eyes trying to find something to focus on. But it only brought a scowl to her face. The cockpit wasn't much to look at.

"Sorry," Ven barely breathed, "Sorry." He silently urged the Hydra to hurry up, arms folded across his chest to keep his hands from twitching, impatiently shifting his weight from foot to foot. If she was still trapped in the harness and suspended sideways like that...A trio of triumphant hisses reached his ears, and he saw the Hyrda snapping victoriously at the air, skirting backwards as the cockpit, with a tired sort of sigh, wearily creaked open. Wasting no time, the man sprung forward.

Gloved hands wrapped firmly around the cockpit, and, tugging slightly, Ven pulled it open, peering inside. He bit his lip to suppress a sound of concern, seeing Viveka limp, but still moving in the retraints. Was she bleeding? He couldn't tell. "Hang on, I'll get you out." Hissing sibilantly, the Hydra skirted forward, clamoring up and past Viveka, beginning to snap at the restraints now. The young man stepped forward, slipping into the cockpit as well, obviously ready to catch her if she fell.

"Ah.." He'd caught sight of the blood on one side of her head, cursing softly at himself. "Sorry." He repeated, nearly jumping out of his skin as the Hydra finally snapped through the restraints. Darting forward, Ven did his best to make sure her body wouldn't smack against the side of the cockpit, grimacing as his hands touched warm, sticky blood. "Do you need to get to a hospital...?"

Rather than worry for herself, Viveka's mind spun while calculating the cost of repairs and now adding a new set of restraint-straps, as well. The fact that she was falling from said restraints wasn't much of a priority, that is, until she felt an unfamiliar touch that would've had her pulling away, had she the strength. Instead, she tried to relax against the support, but still found her body unwilling.

"No." She spat at the mention of a hospital. "No, I'm fine." To prove it, she attempted to pull away, but the motion only found her dizzy and ready to trip right out of the cockpit all together. "Damn..." She muttered, grabbing at whatever scrap of metal she could reach and also nearly cutting her hand in the process. Were it not for her gloves... Boy, today was just not her day. Turning back to Ven, she found even more of her pride slipping through her numb fingers.

"Maybe just a little... help. But no hospitals." She moved closer again, trying to keep balanced without relying too much on the other pilot. She had to spare a bit of pride, at least, though it was now merely a miniscule bit in her eyes.

His face was twisted in an expression of concern for the young woman, holding her awkwardly, as though unused to doing such a thing. As she pulled away some, he let her, hovering anxiously, but not wanting to seem too forward, or offensive. "No, you're hurt." He argued, wincing as she nearly cut herself and stepping forward again. Grasping her upper arm fully, letting her lean on him if she needed to, Ven attempted to lead her out of the ruined cockpit, swearing as the Hydra VS skittered underfoot.

"Okay...No hospitals." He agreed, attempting to help her sit down. "I'm just gonna see if I can clean the wound, okay? Or at least bandage it some. And then we'll see about getting your zoid to a repair shop." Ven jerked his head at the Hydra. "Go grab the medical kit, okay?" The Hydra hissed softly and scuttled off, body wriggling fiercely as it trekked across the sands. Up the Jerk and into the cockpit it went, three heads fiercely latching on to the handle of the kit and dropping it down below. Slithering back out, they proceeded to drag the kit back over, tail lashing with smug triumph.

Ven grabbed the kit, murmuring gratitude before opening it up. "Now..." He looked hesitant for a moment, reaching out with one hand but not touching her. "Can I see how bad it is?"

Each step taken was careful and calculated. She seemed to be working her hardest to make each unfortunately graceless movement with the least amount of leaning possible. And so, not really in the mood nor the condition to be wasting energy that way, she was inwardly grateful when he helped her sit. Still, she couldn't help cursing her luck all the same. If it weren't for the bloodied head injury, she could've been on her way on her own, even if she'd sustained a similar injury elsewhere.

Staring at the dirt, she sighed, the sharp in-take of breath needed before breathing out causing her temples to pound dully. His words before had pretty much gone in one ear and out the other. And the newer ones had nearly done the same. "Hm?" She lightly pursed her lips while glancing up at him, doing her best not to grimace in pain. But the hand near her head when she turned was enough of a memory-jump. "Oh... yeah..." She looked rather reluctant to let him touch her again, but needless to say it would be hard to take care of the wound herself. Still, she scanned his face a moment before removing her gloves and parting her hair strangely at the side of her head so the injury would be visible.

Once granted permission, Ven didn't waste time. He gently touched the side of her head, leaning forward to inspect the wound. "It's not too deep," He confirmed after a moment, "I don't think you got anything in there--you might need stitches though..." He certainly wasn't going to do that. He wouldn't know how, and he didn't have anything to numb the area. Rustling around in the kit for a minute, he pulled out some antiseptic and some gauze, inwardly sighing. "This is gonna sting..." Hopefully he wouldn't get hit.

Gently pouring a small amount on the wound, Ven winced at the hissing and applied the gauze, careful not to put too much pressure on it. Switching hands, he pulled out some medical tape, efficiently taping the gauze in place. "I'm no doctor, but that should last you for a little bit...You should really get it looked at." Ven rocked back on his heels, maintaining a respectful distance. "I'm really sorry about all of this." He gestured helplessly to her head, then to the remains of the zoid. "...I'm Ven Rieger, by the way."

Knowing what was coming and even with the affirming words, Viveka had to grasp at her gloves to keep from lashing out. A wound on the arm or so was one thing, but this seemed to sting more than she remembered. She shut her eyes, though only a second later opened her blue one to the other pilot. Get it looked at. Right. She'd... think about it. Raising her hand, she gently felt along the surface of the bandage until she was happy with his work.

"Viveka..." She responded, lowering her hand and playing idly with the gloves she still held. Yet she stopped when it came to last names and merely moved on. "Don't worry about it." She was feeling rather generous. After all, he'd bothered to help her, despite her, as she figured, obvious lacking in the 'friendly' department. "As long as the Zoid core's okay." Surely a hit to the shoulder, regardless of the whiplash, wouldn't have done much to the core.

Slipping her gloves back on, she glanced up at the mess of her beloved Zoid with a slight scowl. She pushed the look away as she tried to stand. Or rather, the look was replaced by a look of determination. It took a minute, but she stood balanced on her own, albeit she felt a bit light-headed.
