Why is it soo Dreaded and Feared and why is it generally frowned upon and banned? Just Wondering ^_^

Well a soul is by common definition that which is outside the physical body.

I personally like to think more of essence or that which allows you to have will and affect change. Or well a form that contains essence or will. Not necassarily the physical form as a conduit but that which seems a bit more basic then the physical form which it is demonstrated can leave the form and still have an existance outside and is generally independent of that form.

Soul magics are under the definition of magics which actively affect the soul essence etc. There are alot of things which fall under this catagory but given this general definition you can probably come up with them on your own. The names Pretty self explanatory.

Everyone which I've talked to about this subject seems to be against it. I have heard of certain threats concerning those that practice it. That people don't like to talk about it who know about it. I'm guessing your not one of them since you don't know what I'm talking about.

I believe that most people I've talked to seem to fear the practice of it or the idea of it mostly extreme dislike etc.

Especially when dealing with some Yes Fear and Dread but Then you'd have to know what I was talking about to either fear or dread it which you don't seem to.

I'd suggest looking up the website "Ars Falcis" and Tomekeeper.

I enjoy Ars Falcis, it is a big necromancy resource on the web. I personally am using it (as well as a few other sources) to learn necromancy as well as a few other tricks.

So yeah... you have my opinion on the subject.

Soul magic...stick to psychology. Binding spirits and things of that nature reach into realms we are better equipped to handle after death. Deal with this world first, move to the next in your due time.

Creating a soul (originally this was a much more difficult task, with the concept I'd been working with...), and then finding a "vacant" body for it. Seeing how well that would work.

In Chinese Medical terms you're talking about creating a Guei and letting it inhabit a body. The body must be alive, which means that it must either be animal or human (which creates all manner of problems).

In humans, a Guei invasion creates psychoses. The Guei will entwine itself with the resident soul, attempting to get the resident soul to perform the Guei's will. Guei that do this tend to be confused spirits who find confused souls to reside with, or even guardian forces who are confined by the labrinthes of conscious thought. Either way, messy.

It's easier to raise an animal to consciousness. I had a cat that I'm fairly certain was sentient, and I actually heard speak one or two words of English.

Does anyone else get the faint feeling of sacrilege while making a soul?
