This whole scouting thing was really starting to get rather boring. What was she even scouting for, the dark hyena pouted to herself. She never came across any lions that would be tresspassing upon their lands or any other hyena that could be potential friend or foe. For food? Oh, BossLady made it very clear that they would be fending for themselves, when they first met. And it wasn't really like she got the chance to report anything to the Alpha, having never found her way back to the center.
So, little to say, Zoma was a bit lost in the graveyard as usual but now a bit lost in her job and what she was doing now with her life. The usually chipper hyena was for once downcast and pessimistic and even a little depressed that she was a little depressed. This was so unnatural, this feeling of frustration for her life, she usualyl didn't care but ... really. She let out a small sigh, her white tuff of hair flipping to one side as she sat her rump on the ground below her as little bits of grey dust picked up to flitter back down.
"So.. boring..." She muttered to herself, allowing her cobalt eyes to flutter closed.

The tawny hyena moved across the bone littered lands with head held high. She moved step by step, her senses opened for anything that moved, breathed, or did anything. She was one of the few guards of the hyena pack here in the graveyard. After speaking and spending time with Yakuti, another one of the guards, she grew to like the place more, but not for the place but for the company it gave. Yakuti was truly dutiful, she'd give him that nor was he one of those who sought power. At least he was a male that she could get along with. But what made her need to be be with the hyena was that he knew her secrets and she knew he'd want her around because she knew his.
But lately, since she had started to patrol on her own, it got quite dull. Yakuti and his "slave" Onoa would keep her company with some small talk while they moved around. Wonder what those two were doing....What was the rest of the pack doing...Wonder what the Alpha was doing by herself, did she do any duties like everyone else? What did her pathetic excuse of a son do here? Sighing from all the thinking, she paused.
"SOMETHING HAPPEN ALREADY!"

Zoma's black ears instantly perked as the frustrated tone echoed through the hollow ribcagses and skulls of nearby cluttered bones. Her cobalt eyes snapped open, body on a defense - or something close to one- Her body rose slowly and pivoted slightly... head twisting and turning to locate the source. The voice was unfamiliar, female from the sounds of it and no one she knew or remembered. Wasn't BossLady or a younger hyena.. or that meany who tried to steal her lunch that one time. No, someone new and could be an enemy or worse... a lion.
Or it could very well be a potential new friend, which she was hoping for and something she so needed through the boredom of the past few moons. "Oh, please let it be someone nice~" She pleaded under her breathe, beginning to make her move.
Lowering her center a little closer to the ground, Zoma slowly made her way towards a large cluster of bones near to where she had original sat down. As nimbly as she could, she manuevered her body through the thick cracked ribs and up the vertabre towards the large skull. By doing so, she hoped a higher ground could be established for her, in one way to get a better look of the place and in another to make sure she had a higher ground just in case what she hoped to be a friendly was nothing more of something she just didn't want to encounter.
"Maybe I should just say hello if I found them..." She wondered aloud, she did usually do that. "But.. being all sneaky is a little fun." She grinned, slinking her body against the curve of the jawbone and towards the tusks.

Shira moved about keeping an eye out. Her ears perked when a slight murmur of a voice reached her ears. Quickly she jumped onto all fours, sturdy and braced for anything that would come at her. Her head jerked from side to side, her eyes keeping watch on everything. She had taken down lions, giraffes, other hyenas, almost any species known to the area, if not then she would go out and take it down herself. If something was gonna attach her, she was gonna give a very good fight back.
"Show yourself, trespasser. Do now and you shall spare yourself a long, torturous death. Come on out."
She called out. The trespasser had two choices, a quick death or a long one to make them suffer. Then again, she would not sit there waiting for the animal to die. Her nose flared. A female. It flared again. Hyena.
"If you are part of the pack, whom be the Alpha of the pack?"
Shira called out again to spare her the time to waste on a fellow pack member, especially a female member."

Aa, poo ~ so much for sneaking around, she was already discovered in a manner of minutes. Definitly not one of your skills, Zoma mused to herself, starting to get back her usual mood. It was fun while it lasted even though it was ceased shortly before it could get much anywhere else.
"Saah, you're good~" Zoma commended sliding herself across the rest of the way past the jaw and over the broken right tusk. There she remained still a little on the defensive, however, not sure of the tone the other was giving her. It didn't seem very nice, but Zoma wasn't going to let it unnerve her.
"You mean BossLady Mafa?" She asked with a childish tone, "Unless there are other packs around, but I don't think Bosslady would like it very much. Not one bit." She shook her head slowly, tone still playful and with that of a smile.

"Boss Lady, Mafa? What sort of title is that? Are you one of those suck ups?"
THe tawny hyena's eyes narrowed as he lips pulled back. How could she be trusted? Trust was not easily given. How could she prove that she was part of the pack and not those of the Maziko? or a Rogue? Shira growled. She had to test this female, she may not like to do this, but it must be done. She was a guard of the pack and she was going to do her job right if she tends to stay here.
"How do I know if you are telling the truth? Mafa's name is very well known as well as this pack's existence. What proof do you have that you belong here? I do not remember seeing your face at my welcoming into this pack. Tibuka, Yakuti, Kellelo, Mafa, and a few others were there, but your mug was not. Who the hell are you."
She growled, her tail and hackles raised up. She was just a moment away from lunging at the female and tearing at her. She had been urging for a good fight lately and perhaps she will luck out here.

"Suck up?" Zoma's ear twitched as her head cocked slightly to the left. "I wouldn't call myself one but, BossLady is the boss and a female so the title is fitting after all." duh.
Wow, this other hyena was mean. Didn't even introduce herself while throwing out names of other hyena, with only like two sounding familiar - but she wouldn't let the other know about that little detail, well she probably would have to. Had she missed all that much while she was scouting and generally being lost - well, she did miss BossLady having a pup and all. But, Zoma just stared blankly at the tawny hyena and a bit baffled at the request and then burst into a fit of high pitched giggles - and a snort here and there - almost falling to her side against the broken tusk.
"I-I have to prove myself?" She managed through a few breathes, "How lame is THAT?" She continued, lowering her head slightly as she tried to contain herself again. "What, do we think have big parties when a new hyena is brought in?" Really, the giggles were hard to let go of over the situation. Maybe she was trying to make light of the situation really, feeling a bit bad she hadn't been to another meet and greet and the center of the bones in SO long, but Zoma was feeling she really had no need to prove she was apart of the pack.
"And who am I?" The giggles somewhat contained now as she lifted her head, cobalt eyes sparkling with glee, "I'm Zoma. Am I going to get a proper name from you, or do I get to call you Miss CrankyFur?" She couldn't help but grin, her own tail flicking but in her usual playful manner. Oh, how this was getting her in her usual mood again.

"...Miss....Cranky...fur?"
Shira's body shivered in anger, her emerald eyes twitched with her gaze. She had pushed the female a bit too far for her liking...and that isn't much. Almost instantly when the word 'Miss Crankyfur' escaped her maw, she jumped at Zoma, growling and snarling. She planted both paws down and glared down at her.
"I am Taashira'Kikuto, remember it, never forget it! You will address me by the name I have told you and no other. Not Miss Crankyfur, not Crankyfur, not miss, not even Prissy-Dancing-Pixie. I am Taashira'kikuto and you best remember it!"
Her fangs bared, a growl emitting from deep within her. She did not care about her rank in the pack after this, this was a matter of herself. Zoma had gone too far. Shira had the conscious mind to jump at her throat and rip it out.
Everything before that one statement was forgotten, good 'cause if she remembered, she would already be at her throat in blind anger.

"waah!" Zoma's body went instantly on auto and jumped back in surprise at Shira's reaction to her own remarks. White tail flicked in the air to regain balance, her eyes now wide with surprise, but not in an idea of terror from the bared fangs or the growl. Oh no, excitment. She had suspected the other might be a little short tempered but, wow... she didn't expect her to snap at a small little joke here and there. [ Talk about no sense of humor. ] This just fueled Zoma, ever much so ~ she had been in too much of a funk to let one angry hyena scare her off and into a little submission - in the same pack or not, only BossLady had that power .. not some newb.
"So... Taashira...." She started up again after a pregnant pause between the two, though Shira was obviously not silent in the least. Zoma let her gaze upward, trying to remember the rest of the utterly long name, geez... couldn't she have picked something more simple? "ki.. kuto?" She concluded, meeting that stern gaze with the easily pleased one of her own. "Taashira'kikuto..." She repeated in a tone of mock esteem, "Are you sure I can't call you something more simple?" Her train of thought now venturing from their original intentions, "That's really long and I'm usually out scouting for so long that most of it will probably be lost? OR how about another nickname!" OH, what a fun idea, that Prissy-Dancing-Pixie one was surely interesting.

"You don't get the right to call me anything else until I give you it! You will call me Taashira'kikuto and no other!"
She snarled, glaring at her. She really wanted to jump at her again and make sure she could not speak. And the only way she knew to do that was to rip out what allowed her to speak. Shira growled and turned around. She did not want to see this female no more, she was ready to kill her, no hesitation until the thought of the pack invaded her mind. If the guard killed teh scout, she would surely lose her position in the pack, she will lose her ties with Yakuti.
"I have better things to do than talk to a whore like you."
A slip of the tongue could have ranged from b***h to another obscene name. Her valgarities came out in her deepest angers and even then there was no word in her sentences that was not a word of foul language.
The tawny hyena turned and started back, growling and muttering under her breath. Surely she would be in a better mood when she returned home to Yakuti and Omoa.

Oh geez, this really was rich wasn't it. "Yes, ma'am .. Taashira'kikuto~" Zoma rolled her eyes and sighed, "Really... the new members do get full of themselves I guess." Though, having not met any other new hyena she wasn't sure about the truth of that statment but... it was just a mused idea really. Perhaps entering the graveyard gave everyone a hot head and a bitter attitude and she was lucky enough to escape the effects.
"A whore, thats a new one ~ you don't even know me enough to gander how my sex life is." A few giggles followed and a small sigh. "Well, better a whore than having a stick up my a** then, at least they enjoy life~" She nodded in an all knowing manner, not raising her voice to make sure Shira could hear her while she retreated. If Miss CrabbyFur wanted to respond, she could.
On second thought....
Zoma frowned, her gaze turning upward for a moment to the large skull behind her. Well, she could get a better vantage point from up there to continue her job or, she turned back to Shira's retreating form as a grin spread across her maw. She gathered her dark body to her feet and bounded as fast as she could after, white mane flopping about.
"Oh come oooon!" she called after, "That was SO disappointing," Getting closer, "I mean, really ~ we're hyena and supposed to laugh and enjoy things." Why were so many of them such tight asses? She wondered as she slowed a bit, keeping her distance. Zoma might be a it scattere brained and upbeat but she wasn't stupid.

Shira jerked around and pulled a digit up to her chin with an agitated growl.
"See here, you son of a b***h, I have had enough of you as it is. I just got through an argument with someone I care about and I do not need this stuff on me right now. And I'll have you know, not every effing hyena is like what you say. We are not happy-go-lucky and we do not laugh like you do. What the hell is wrong with you!? We hyenas are scavengers, hunt whatever another does and take it from them. We only care about what would benefit us and no other. GAH!"
The tawny hyena growled and jerked away. She really didn't need this right now. After having that argument with Yakuti not too long ago, this was not helping at all for her. Yakuti was a dear one to her, though she would never admit that to the young adol, hell, not even to herself. But she did have something for him that she refused to acknowledge is there. Yakuti was a male of the pack, a close male to Mafa's ranks and been within the pack for a long time. Shira was new as it was, but Yakuti was not like the other males she known. All of them were bastards and horny studs. They only cared for power, to overwhelm others and mate with females to their hearts content...disgusting. However, Yakuti cared not for power to overwhelm, he did not want to mate with females like others, hell he barely knew what love was. He was the opposite of what she despised...
"Zoma, just go back to your scouting and leave me be. I need to think...."
She grumbled...
